The presenter seemed genuinely interested in the information she was sharing, and if you want to learn how to pair wines, this is a decent way to go about it. Everyone was friendly, and the store was clean and well stocked. The class, "Vive La France," featured wines all from French regions, and the price was reasonable for what you get. The only thing that would have made this a better experience is the airflow in the classroom...it needs a fan or something. It was so hot and stuffy. They do a lot of wine classes, they are all themed, whether it be a chocolate and wine pairing class or one specializing in bordeaux's, it's always a fun experience. You have some snacks, you taste some wonderful wines, and you learn a thing or two. It's a whole evening for like $20. And it isn't just wine, I once took a classic cocktail class and learned that I enjoy a sidecar. I had no idea. It hurts my heart to leave a one star but this is how bad my visit to this store on June 16th bothered me. 2 weeks later, the actions of one single solitary employee left such a bad taste in my mouth that I had to. He knows himself and am sure his peers know him too because of his Karen like behaviors. If we were in a library, sure but at a liquor store why would you shush anyone and tell them that its a place of business. Am coming in to spend money and you acting like we were shouting and misbehaving but that was not the case. It was so outrageous that other shoppers were surprised at his actions and asked what the employees problem was! Utterly disappointed that he got to speak to us in that manner and think it is ok. my family and I generally love this location; the staff is always welcoming, friendly, and quick to ask if you need help finding anything. However, I am giving this rating because of a deeply disappointing experience today with a manager named Noah. I am 21 and was simply trying to buy supplies for a family watch party with my 14-year-old sister accompanying me. Noah was immediately hostile, demanded ID from my minor sister, and aggressively refused service, despite the company's policy allowing minors to accompany adults. His rudeness continued even when I returned with my mother later that day. To make matters worse, I witnessed him yelling at a staff member in the parking lot; other employees confirmed this is his standard behavior. A manager should be professional, not aggressive toward customers or their own team. I have already contacted Total Wine corporate to file a formal complaint regarding this incident. I really hope this is addressed, as it is a shame to have such poor management overshadow the otherwise great service the rest of the team provides. read more

I've learned that the alcohol beverage with a yellow sticker, you can have a sample. The samples at this store is amazing. On Saturdays, they usually have samples throughout the store - in the front, at their circular desk in the middle area, on the left side of the store, and sometimes there are vendors in the isles! A great way to taste and see if you want to purchase the beverage. They provided all sorts of classes. There's brochures as you enter and in the back where the classes take place. They have an excellent selection of NA products, often conveniently displayed with their alcoholic counterpart to give ideas of what to try. They have everything from NA beers from around the globe to NA wines of every variety and price point (this one is more difficult to find than you'd think). The other nice thing is that they have several "true zero" options that are excellent and don't taste like sewage (also hard to find). The staff is friendly and helpful. One of the perks of being a Grand Reserve member is you get two free tickets to any class they offer that month. So my husband and I decided to make a date night out if it and attended the Pop the cork: Sparkling Bubbly class. Ms. Jackie was our teacher and she is fabulous! I learned so much from her and she kept the whole class engaged for two hours. That's a feat, especially when everybody is drinking. Haha! We ended up trying 7 different types of sparkling wines/champagnes. They also provide an amazing spread of meats/cheeses/fruits to accompany the alcohol. Not only is the selection excellent, but workers are typically easy to find and are very helpful. I am a major local craft beer fan, especially barrel aged stouts. Last week while shopping I got an important phone call and the mask I was wearing made communication difficult. My cart full of items, I didn't want to just walk out of the store so I found an aisle with no people in it, pulled my mask down, and continued the phone conversation. A few minutes later the manager walks by, sees me down the aisle with my mask down, approaches me, and asks me to pull it up. Now, I believe it is a business's right to require masks if they choose, but the lack of logic here still leaves me scratching my head. Why sacrifice social distance to ask someone to put on a mask? No one was at risk until you encroached on my space! Is the goal safety or control? I'm not going to lie and say I won't be back at Total Wine next week, but my impression of the customer service has definitely been taken down a notch. read more

We like going on Saturday because you get free samples of wine, beer, and liqueur. It is not just that it is free I like to try the different brands and types of new items they have. When we go to Total Wine it is to stock up our wine rack when it is low. You will get a lot of wine choices here and at a good price. The staff is very helpful at suggesting wine. And we have took their suggestions many time all very good. Plus try the sample wine they have in the back usually a bunch of different types of wine and get one of them if it good we do all the time. The tasting tables at Total Wine & More are a great place to learn about different products and styles. There are three areas in the store where you can sample the products that they are tasting that day. There is a place for wine, whisky and beer. The staff who host the tastings are knowledgeable about the products and can provide helpful suggestions based on your preferences as you taste the featured products. We asked customer service when we walked in where it was. "Oh, you mean that Japanese stuff?" My friend corrected, "Korean." Usually the employees have impeccable recommendations and knowledge. We didn't leave totally empty-handed. My friend bought some hand sanitizer. We were fkn carded at checkout. WE. The cashier asked me for MY ID, a 32-year-old, master's prepared nurse and mother of two because my 36 yo friend was buying hand sanitizer. I love Total Wine so much! They have such a huge selection and it's great trying a lot of different wines at a very reasonable price point. We visited Italy a few months ago and they even carried the vintage we loved overseas! It's also our go-to place for restocking the liquor cabinet. First, after I walked around a couple times looking for a hard to find Brandy - a very nice worker asked me if he could help, which he did - brought me to the exact location I needed. I wish the experience ended there. While I'm standing there reading the bottle and comparing it to a photo on my iPhone, a manager presumably, approached me and asked with a scowl "can I help you?" Uh, no I'm good. He looks agitated and suspicious and walks away reluctantly. His appearance was very tall, Caucasian, dress pants and dress shift tucked in with an visible walkie talkie ear piece wire. WTF? On checkout with a less than enthusiastic clerk, I noticed the "help" island where he is standing with a monitor with several boxes showing live security cam feeds. I'm not sure if this place was recently robbed or what is the problem for this individual to approach customers with a stick up his a$$ attitude and suspicious lurk - but please spare me the "kwick mart" clerk experience where everyone is a suspect. If this location is that bad - pack up and close this store down. I won't be back - period. I would say be aware of your surroundings with staff, some are helpful intentionally. My last visit I would say was the worst. The customer service was horrible, I hate I didn't get his name but at the Euless store in particular the tall heavy set guy with glasses literally filled me to an aisle. He never directly approached me but asked me from an open aisle over was I looking for anything in particular from behind me. Keep in mind I'm a Grand Reserve so I definitely didn't expect that treatment. I can definitely say his actions were very distasteful. Treating all the clientele equally should be should this store should definitely practice. I wanna say the man is a manager. If I had to go back to get his name for reference I definitely would.
