I saw on social media that Total Wine had special events offering wine tasting classes. I figured I'd give it a try for $20 and I was very pleased and overly surprised with this event. Everything from the setup, appetizers offered to enhance the experience, instructor, information shared and ambiance were outstanding. We learned about Spanish and Portuguese wines and had the opportunity to taste many that were also for sale at the store. It made for a really fun night that I would like to repeat again in the future. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by my experience here! It is one of the better liquor/wine stores I've visited. It had an insanely large variety of wine, spirits, cigars, and even hangover cures. The store was clean and the layout was easy to follow. The staff was very friendly, especially the man who checked me out at the register. read more

This is one of the better total wine stores that I've been to in the US. I love the inventory of the spirits, great selections on the cigars, there's plenty to choose from. I love the service. Just when I was about to leave, one of the representatives took their time in helping me choose a Mezcal. He introduced me to a few mezcals and gave me the opportunity to try them. and I was grateful for it. Can't think of any flaws I would strongly recommend. read more

I just had the worst customer experience I've ever had. I was purchasing a Diet Coke , No Alcohol, and the cashier ( who was very nice and professional) asked for my ID. I said it's only a Diet Coke. They said they know but need to ID anyway. I replied "Really? For a Diet Coke?" Very calmly, but confused. You see I work in the business and have never heard of this. I'm also a 54 year old woman. At this point, a man in a total wine vest, came marching over, in all his superior glory, and started Screaming at me, in front of all the cashiers and the customers. Screaming " Yes We ID !!! It's A Liquor Store !!" I was mortified. The cashier was clearly embarrassed as well. Once I purchased my Diet Coke. I asked who the employee was because I was going to speak with the manager.... Well, lo and behold... he unfortunately IS one of the mangers !! His name is David. I certainly will never shop at Total Wines in Danvers again and highly doubt I'll go into another one . I wanted to buy a case of Veuve Cliquot to give as gifts to my real estate clients. The sales guy would not accept my choice and was pressuring me to choose something else. I went in for the first time picked up what I need. Got to the register with my young grandson. Put my purchase down at checkout and was asked for ID I'm 68 so I questioned it and John the guy at the register tells me if you want to shop here it the was it is. He proceeds to rant that assholes like me should just stay out of the store. Then he bends down to my 9 year old grandson and says your grandfather must have voted for trump because your grandad is an asshole. Had all I could do was well enough of that. One simple improvement, how about a smile and a greeting? What do you have a job, like a butcher, that interacts with people all day, I understand how one might become rude and unpleasant. A simple smile, a simple hello may I help you, is all it takes. I found the girl with the funny hat on behind the butcher counter to be rude, unwelcoming, and ridiculing. I will not be back. Somehow, I think they just don't care about the people they serve. I have been to this market two or three times. And never have I been greeted with a smile. Culture starts at the top. I generally get great customer service here, especially Roy, who came up to me & my friend asking us what we like, what we don't and offered us recommendations as well as mini samples of 2 of the popular sellers. Total wine and more Danvers ma , ON SEPTEMBER 7th 2023 Cashier 46649 Jacklyn was very rude and I felt like my husband and I were targeted as a African American young couple just trying to get a beer that cost $2.99 and a margarita that cost $13.99. Jacklyn decided to NOT card a white lady infront of me because she looked "long enough " and when I was trying to purchase my items my husband who looks old enough and who works for the low enforcement did not have his ID even though I had mine gave us a very hard time . African American couple once again and jacklyn called the manager over nice guy very helpful and proceed to lie and said she carded her which she did not and it was on camera . I told Manager to check the cameras because she did not card the lady Infront of me because she stated to her " she looked old enough." Jacklyn lied repeats times saying she card her which she did not and everything is on camera. I was able to purchase my items even though I come here a lot . But very disappointed with who they treated us because we look young. Jacklyn very bad customer service and hate who you treated someone who could save your life one day due to working in healthcare. Total Wine and more do better , please train your associates with meeting different cultures people and doing there jobs right . Felt very uncomfortable that this happened in front of multiple people being a person who works in health care and owns my own business. Something needs to be done . I'm sorry. I really didn't want to to add only 2 stars to my review. .. I wanted it to be more. However, after the visit today they completely missed the mark. I was there to pick up an online order. Entering the store - which is HUGE there were several employees standing around - congregating in what looked like packs. Usually someone will ask if they may help you ... Not even close today. There are several registers and it was clear that even being mid day the store was busy. I looked to find where to pick up my order and of course it was at the very end past all the registers. I saw a light on, which should mean that the register is open? And proceeded to walked over to it. . clearly no one there. I spied a button to push for assistance .. I pressed and waited....and waited...and waited. Ok, it was obvious that no one was going to come over and help me. Maybe the button is out of order? You wouldn't mind but again - there were several employees clustered doing absolutely nothing... I'm sure they saw me & not one of them offered to help. I Know they saw me having trouble I walked away - again the entire length of the register area to customer service. Meanwhile I kept thinking - what am I invisible? I waited in line to ask my question... By the time it was my turn, trust me it was no longer a question .it was a demand! The customer service person did call for someone to go over and help me.... Again, I walked the length of the register area ( how many times?) and waited. So finally a young gentleman came over & brought out my order if several boxes .. No cart & just took off leaving me there!!! I'm like, are you serious? How am I supposed to get these boxes out of this store without help? I don't know..... Is it me? So here we go again.... By now I'm obviously upset. I flagged someone down & after explaining that I couldn't lift the boxes, they did help. Leaving wasn't all that simple either..but I'll hold off on that. The lack of customer service & basic thought is an issue at this location. For the amount of money I supposedly saved, this trip just wasn't worth it. I won't be returning anytime soon, if at all.... They always have what I need, which isn't much and isn't expensive. The store is always well stocked and clean. There's always a lot of employees and the two times I did ask for help they were very courteous and helpful. I hate the location of the mall, but the parking is close and open. read more

Blown away- we were invited to a wine tasting class at Total Wine and I was in awe once I entered the store. Roy gave us a class and tasting of 6 bottles (2 white/4red) and told us about the vineyards and how each wine was created. The sampling's were generous and water was provided to cleanse your palate before trying another sampling. After class I ventured to aisle 7 which had single malt scotch and wow, what a selection. About 5 sections floor to ceiling of everything priced from $45 to $1000. This place is a superstore for those looking for alcoholic beverages. I definitely will return to explore. It's like Home Depot for liquor but with knowledgeable salespeople and sampling's in the store. read more

Why is it the other locations are fully stocked 100% of the time and this one is down on stock consistently? Either they forget to order, or maybe the area is loaded with alcoholics? I continued to be amazed by the poor customer service, and so after many efforts and misses, I had to write a review. Today, I spent nearly 2 and 1/2 hours on an online order...Now, providing people with the benefit of the doubt during this time is of course, on offer and yet, even that benefit cannot explain what happened next. As we approach Father's Day, I thought I would order an over $300 bottle of scotch and some other items from these folks. I utilized their app for delivery as I am an emergency healthcare worker and parent whose schedule can be challenging. I received a call explaining that they would need to substitute my order as the website was not updated accurately, and I would receive the same brand, different vintage, for $30 cheaper. The "scotch expert" was consulted and so I confirmed. No problem...fine, right? Wrong. After wrapping work a half hour later, I noted a voicemail from 10 min prior that said another adjustment was made to my order and a completely random comparably Priced scotch, that just so happens to be an exclusive of theirs it seems, was added in its place. I then call the number that called me 4 times, no answer, and then call this location. After four transfers of no one knowing the process, blaming Door Dash - which surprise! Is the vendor and delivery service you cannot see when using their app!- I was told that only Door Dash could cancel my order...this had to be checked twice by different clueless representatives who couldn't remember our discussion, my name, etc... At one point, my last name was verified as Macallan (scotch aficionados should have a laugh here)...it is not. Please keep in mind, my order was still in the store's possession... At this point, fatigued, I ask, can you call and conference me in. I was told that their phones don't allow conference calls (impossible, but yes, this was what I was told...). And so then I say, can you please not give the order to the driver...as I call yet another number to cancel...and he says, "sure! That way you won't have to worry about it..." Huh? Why wasn't this offered to me previously. I have no idea. Why did it take 30 minutes to arrive at this conclusion???? He then proceeds to explain I should still call... I call the number he provided and it is again Total Wine...corporate perhaps... who apologizes and at some point in the week I will get my $400 order back... As I place another order for these items with VINNIN LIQUORS...which is my usual go to- I offer this. The only reason I gave Total Wine another failed shot was because I had hoped to have this gift delivered separately during a certain time frame as a surprise...never again! Surprise update: And so, 45 minutes later In checking my email, I note that MY ORDER IS OUT FOR DELIVERY!!!!! YES, THE ONE I WAS TOLD WAS CANCELLED.... I call again, and am told that they are sorry and I can refuse the order and it will be returned to the store...no explanation, no nothing... I request a supervisor call me, and am told that maybe in a day or so I will receive a call... I have never seen a circus quite like this... I then am told that my order was delivered and signed for...but my video door bell verifies that While I am home, I have not missed a delivery. It would appear that someone, perhaps an employee, is drinking scotch and Stags Leap Artemis this evening...with an additional cash tip for their troubles...as I await to be refunded in this ongoing time robbery of this saga...and I'm so frustrated. If you are looking for good deals and WONDERFUL, RESPONSIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE- GO TO VINNIN LIQUORS! I think this place had some time to improve itself. I really like the selection now. It's exceeded it's competitors in the area. Why doesn't it get 5 stars? It is just a plain hassle to get in and out of the mall area. Not the store's fault the mall is set up like this, but still makes me want to go other places that are easier to get in and out of. Customer service is still lacking. 3/4 Managers and staff are kind of uppity hipster types. I asked about a specific item last time and the manager insisted he never heard of it, so it must not exist, and I must be imagining it. Check out is still painful and brutal. What can I say. I like my alcohol, and this is like a candy store to me! There is so much variety here, maybe even more than Kappy's. I could spend hours just looking at all the beers and liquors they have here. The mix and match 6-packs are great for trying different craft beers. read more

Had a terrible experience at Total Wine Danvers today and won't be going back! It had been awhile since I'd shopped there but the first thing I noticed was that all of my "go to" wines were either out of stock or priced $2 or more higher than my new wine store. But my biggest issue was this...we decided to take advance the Winery Direct Event that's being offered...15% off 6 or more bottles of wines with yellow tags, choosing 3 of one & 3 of another which both had "yellow tags" indicating they were part of the offer. When we got to checkout we were told that only 3 bottles were "winery direct" so we couldn't get the 15% off. I went back to check, grabbed a manager and showed him the "yellow tag" .He said it was a mistake, removed the sign but said let's go to the register and I'll take care of it. As we headed to the register he stopped at another sign that said the offer wasn't eligible on wine prices ending in a 7. What?!?! So then he wouldn't make an adjustment. I was furious and said I wouldn't be coming back to which he simply said "I understand " ! What horrible customer service and I consider the signage on special offers to be contradictory and deceitful! I will never shop at Total Wine again. This place is literally the worst! I buy rare whiskey all the time. These are the ones that are locked in glass cases. Not trying to toot my own horn, just trying to put things into perspective for my review. Every time I go there the customer service is horrendous. The managers are rude, the employees are rude, and no one wants to help you! My latest experience, I was spending over $500 for whiskey. The woman at the customer service desk was so rude, I ended up driving to New Hampshire State liquor store to make this purchase. It was an hour and a half away... That's how rude they were. What a night and day difference this place is from the one in Florida I use to shop at. Also, employees will lie to you and tell you that they don't have something in stock... I will never ever return to this location ! They are completely disrespectful I went in to buy liquor with my girlfriend who is 20 years old ... for a family party for the Fourth of July , they asked for my ID which is fine (I'm 22) and they kept staring at my girlfriend and asked for her ID to and she informed her that she was only 20 but she was not purchasing , just with me to help with the shopping . They very rudely sent us away and made it very embarrassing . We have been to many liquor stores together and that has never absolutely never happened to us. My girlfriend was mortified and called management and explained what happened, he said sorry once, and just went on about their policy, and was very quick to hang up the phone( that was no help ) .
