I popped in here on my way to the beach and noticed they had Buffalo Trace in stock. I was pretty excited as it is still pretty hard to find, particularly at a decent price. No price tag was evident so I brought it up to the register. The woman scanned it said, $31.99, which is still above list but not too bad so I bought it. I get it home and notice there's a weird gold circle sticker on the back. I peel it up and it says " for the UK market"! I then check the abv, and it's 40%. American market is 45%. This is a classic bait and switch and extremely dishonest. The owner should give me my money back, take the gold stickers off and sell it for what it is, Buffalo Trace Lite. Shameful. read more

I just wanted to compliment the staff for their very responsive and excellent customer service yesterday. I had been searching for some harder-to-find bourbons when I found them online at Lighthouse. I called, confirmed the product availability, and inquired about pricing. I live quite a ways away, but excitedly drove to the store to pick up the items. Upon arrival, I found that the shelf- and system-listed prices differed from what I was quoted on the phone. When I brought this to the management's attention, I was extremely pleasantly surprised to receive a sympathetic response and appropriate price adjustment. As a first time customer, this immediate accommodation was only that much more impressive. I just wanted to say 'thank you' for making things right and for earning my business moving forward. The store and its bourbon & rye selections are exceptional and a real asset to the North Shore. Thank you again! read more

Earlier this evening, I purchased three bottles of bourbon here and had to ask the sales clerk for a receipt (they do not print customers a sales receipt, automatically). Upon inspecting the receipt, I discovered that I was overcharged $2.00 on one of the bottles. Upon drawing this price discrepancy to her attention, I was curtly informed that it didn't matter what the sign on the shelf reads and that items cost whatever the store decides to charge. Having already paid, I decided to let it go, but I thought this was both rude and deceptive. Upon returning home, I looked at the bottle of Buffalo Trace that I had purchased and discovered that it is not the same Buffalo Trace that is regularly sold in the US, but rather, a watered-down 80 Proof version that is produced for European export, exclusively. (By way of explanation, standard Buffalo Trace that is sold domestically is ALWAYS 90 proof). It should also be mentioned that the "export" sized bottle is a smaller 700 ML bottle, whereas a standard sized domestic bottle is 750 ML. I suspect that the practice of selling this "export" version in the US is probably not legal. At the very least, it's a scam on the customer. This was NOT a good experience! read more

Had an amazing experience here today. I went in to look for some local beers for my husband. We love to try beers that we would not usually experience in Delaware. I had the pleasure of asking Nick for assistance today. I let him know what type of beer my husband and he was able to find multiple different beers that were in his flavor pallet profiles. He was also able to show me some local whiskeys and let me know his favorite whiskey and all about their brand and how they distill the whiskey with beer. My husband said that this is his new favorite Whiskey. Nick was so helpful and now we will have to figure out how to get Smuttynose whisky in Delaware. read more

So thank you to Yelp reviewers for steering me here. I forget that Massachusetts liquor stores sell beer too. Was looking for tequila while in the area and was going to stop for beer elsewhere. This place is amazing. Easy to get to off of the highway in a plaza with more than ample parking. The liquor selection is impressive and priced properly. Their craft beer offering is what impressed me. Plenty of cold beer with ratings of the beer next to select offerings. Store staff very friendly and helpful. Check this place out. read more

Amazing selection of alcohol, including many brands you just don't normally see. I purchased a white Privateer rum for my father and a rum in a pumpkin gourd container (made by Pumpkin brand but not actually tasting like pumpkin). The woman who waited on us was so nice and told us an interesting story about Privateer, the Molasses Incident in Medford and other tidbits about the Pumpkin brand we were purchasing. Prices were more than reasonable too. We'll definitely return for future rum (and other) alcohol purchases. read more

I had an unpleasant experience recently at Lighthouse and wrote a strong email to the owner, Mr. Cliff Ansara. I really did not expect a reply but I was wrong. Mr Ansara wrote me back immediately and after explaining his position on the matter, we both agreed that it was an honest misunderstanding. Mr. Ansara, a true professional, made everything more than Right, treating me with exceptional service, going above and beyond what anyone should expext. Best selection of hard-to-find beer on the North Shore, and frankly probably better than anything in Boston proper. If a brewery is going to do a limited distribution to Massachusetts, chances are Lighthouse will be one of only a few shops on the list (and sometimes the only one). I was hooked the first time I logged onto their website for curbside pickup and they had three selections from Aslin available. They even had Tilted Barn cans once. Whoever's running the beer program is A+++. read more

I randomly walked in here while getting food from Whole Foods and was impressed both with their beer selection and their prices - they weren't charging crazy high prices for some good beers. Chuck the beer guy I spoke with also knew what he was talking about and was very friendly. I left with a bunch of great beers. I'm going back. (I can't comment on liquor/wine as I don't know anything about that but their beer is spot on). read more
