We live about a mile from this location and have been going here for years. It took a little while for me to learn the layout of the store. That doesn't mean I know where everything is, just that I have a basic idea of what area to head toward! I have never had to go roaming around to find an item or to find someone to assist me. I would say I'm usually approached in under a minute if I'm standing there looking a bit confused. They always seem to be well staffed and the staff is knowledgeable about various wines, liquors, etc. If the person helping you doesn't know something, they find someone who does. The store is always clean. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They're usually well stocked (at least for items we're looking for). I don't love roaming around a big store and shopping, but they make it easy! Of course I'll be back! read more

One of the better locations. This place is always fully stocked on local STL beers, wines, and spirits. I know its a chain but I appreciate them working with the local vendors to have items in stock in case I cannot make it to the brick mortar shop. I am in love with Brick River Cider and Ace Cider and I can count on this location to have what I need. Their NA section of beer, wine, and spirits is top notch too. A bartender friend of mine picks up these items to when hosting sober nights. A fun thing about this place is that they card everyone in their 30s and below! It's always a nice compliment to feel young again. This place is very accessible and if not too busy you can ask for a customer service representative to help be your personal shopper. And if you have small children you must keep them with you at all times but it is often best not to bring them on this shopping run if not 100% necessary. read more

The man that assisted with a tasting was rude. He was snarky and made remarks towards my husband and I that were uncalled for and malicious. I gave my husband the portion that had significantly more in the cup, as I didn't want to consume a lot of Whiskey. He proceeded to tell us, it's a tasting not a shot, and it's not intended for you to get drunk off of. Clearly we know that it's a tasting and not meant to get drunk. I was in the same shopping center for an errand and thought I'd pop in to use a coupon. Not my favorite Total Wine in STL - usually the cashiers are so friendly at other locations! One of my items had a sale tag on it, but it didn't ring up the right price. When I mentioned it to the cashier he said, in a defensive tone, "I don't know what you want me to do"....perhaps call a manager? He was super friendly with the couple in front of me, so I was very taken aback. Nonetheless, still love Total Wine & More for the variety and mostly chill staff! Did you know all Total Wines have a class space? Have you ever taken a wine class? I highly recommend! My partner and I have actually done 3 wine classes here, the last one, the Argentine Society reserved the space and our same teacher (Tom) taught us about Argentine wines. It was a very fun evening. The space is free to reserve, but if you want to host a specific class, there is a fee associated with that. They even ordered some wines for us, for the class, it was pretty cool. Top notch business with a great staff (both Manchester branch and the Chesterfield branch). They go above and beyond to help you. One time we ordered delivery (they use Door Dash for 3rd party deliveries). I waited over an hour after it was processed. The DDer contacted me and said they told him that someone else had already picked up my order. He suggested I contact the store, which I did. Right away the manager called me back and said that another dasher had "stolen" my order and I would probably not receive it (he said that's happened before). He not only replaced it and had it resent, but gave me a credit for my trouble and inconvenience. That was OUTSTANDING cust service! I came to grab some things to make a margarita fire a party. I just planned on running in, grabbing whatever, then leaving. As soon as I walked in, there was a very nice lady offering tastings. We'll, why not?! She was so knowledgeable about the tequila then after I told her that wasn't for me she asked about margaritas. That's exactly what I came in for. Not only does this store have every possible adult beverage imaginable, they offer classes in the back room. We finally made it to a wine pairings class and it was way more entertaining than we expected. Wine pours were huge, variety was great, and we learned how to pair cheeses with each wine variety. Lots of humor in the presentation and they even fed us some pretty great BBQ from Gobble Stop which was a happy surprise! These classes are great for trying new things. That being said, the store also offers tons of free samples all the time whenever you pop in! Staff is very knowledgeable and can give great recommendations. A nice dinner out sometime back included a tasty cocktail, the Uptown Apple from Firebirds. My family and I thought it would be fun to try to replicate the drink at home, but the special ginger liqueur is not available nearby. I decided to search online, and found it at TW&M. Great, but I didn't want to drive there just for that. Then I remembered that they also sell Not Your Father's Root Beer, a favorite of my son-in-law. I could get some of that as a nice surprise for our next family gathering. Still, not worth the drive. Then I saw that they have delivery. Could it be true? Even to St. Charles county? Yes! And the delivery fee plus a small tip was less than $10. Totally worth it. I was able to schedule a one-hour (I think I recall correctly) time slot for delivery, as I needed to be present with my ID. I got a notification when the delivery man was 20 minutes away. He arrived in pouring rain, but my order was sealed in a box, nice and dry. He took a scan of my license and was on his way. It was absolutely the easiest process ever. If I have special orders or holiday gifts, delivery is the way to go. They have an app that makes it easy. You can also get emails for discounts on wines and events. Now if you're wondering, I haven't quite figured out how to make the Uptown Apple correctly. And I'm not a big drinker, so I just can't practice getting that drink right like I could have back in college (when I had the metabolism and the time but not the money.) This is a huge store! It was my first time here and there are so many options and it's easy to forget why you went in there. Although that is true, they have a lot of staff there that are able to help us to navigate what we are looking for. I was able to go during a tasting and enjoy and experience all the different options that were there. Would highly recommend coming to see any of the deals, because there were a lot of Deals all around the store. read more

I've been to this location a few times. It's pretty to access the lot from the street. Once inside the store is always neat. I'm still not familiar with the set up so I have to look at the guides at the top of the shelves. They usually have what I'm looking for although once they had 11 bottles listed in their inventory but there were none on the shelf. There is always staff willing and available to help. I did not find a wine chilling machine at this location but maybe it's not conveniently located next to the register like other locations. Manager not friendly. Will not be going back. I'm 30 years old and didn't have my id when I was with my boyfriend who was buying alcohol, and the manager followed me to the door and said since I walked in with him she needed my id and she wouldn't let him check out because of it. I understand to an extent, but following someone who is 30 years old to make sure they have an id is absolute insanity. This store is a fantastic addition for the Chesterfield area. The selection is unmatched in the categories of wine, beer or spirits and their prices are also extremely comparable. Only place that comes close to prices is Costco but the Costco selection is significantly less. The other great perk of this store is the service. All of the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. The store also works hard to ensure the checkout lines remain short. I really enjoy buying my alcohol here. Everyone is friendly and helpful and they have a huge selection! Tons and tons of craft beers from local breweries and all over the world. You can mix and match or just buy a six pack. Their price tags are super helpful, lots of them have ratings and a great description. Great wine selection as well (obviously). I enjoy that they have staff favorites for wine. It helps me narrow things down. If I want a merlot, I look for one in the staff favorites and it makes it easy and less overwhelming! Before the pandemic, I was impressed by the knowledge and helpfulness of the employees. Obviously, during the pandemic they respectfully keep their distance and I respectfully don't ask for help. They also have tape lines for every six feet to help you stay far enough away from others and have shields put up at checkout to protect their employees and customers. Obviously, disclaimer, please don't stop in an unnecessary amount. I've gone twice and tried to buy more than normal because I don't think it's appropriate to make multiple trips. These employees are putting their lives on the line to work so I want to be respectful. read more

Let me start by saying I am not a wine guy. I was gifted a bottle of single barrel bourbon on Thanksgiving that was so good, I wanted to grab a back up. I couldn't find it at any of my local spots, so I took a ride to Total Wine. Not only did I find what I was looking for, but I filled a cart with beer that I haven't been able to find elsewhere. The liquor and beer selection here is second to none. They had local and national craft brews from many places I have been wanting to try, but wasn't able to get to directly. The spirit selection was also incredible. I picked up a couple bottles I had no idea I even needed! Oh, and the wine selection is immense. I bought a four pack of the Crown Royal Whiskey Lemon-aid and when I got home, I discovered one of the cans had a leak and was only half full. I went to return it the next day and the manager asked where the other cans were and that he couldn't return a partial case. I'm a huge fan of this Total Wine & More location. The store always seems really really clean and the staff is always really friendly. As for the products I really like the selection for the local beers, bourbon selection, and wine selection. Especially the rose selection. It seems to stand out with plenty of variety. The only opportunity I see for improvement is the sparkling wine available in the cooler to purchase already chilled. I want to say there is only about a selection of six varieties and they range from $10 and under to $35 and up. I think they are plenty more really good sparking wines and champanges that are missing in the $10 - $35 price range that could be added to the cooler to have a little better selection. Sample Saturday! Random visit and as luck would have it there were 3 different sample stations. The first one as you enter the store, the 2nd about 1/2 way through the store and the 3rd was on the last aisle. The store is pretty nice! Huge selection of everything you are looking for and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. I learned that in MO apparently there is a board of staff who have to approve new libations to be sold in MO, that's partially why we get things later than other states. Hmmmm, never knew that, but learned it from a staff member. How awesome! read more

Somehow I've never made it into a Total Wine until yesterday. What a pleasant surprise. So many package/liquor/wine stores have a warehouse feel. Total Wine has a much higher end feel while still meeting the needs of every budget. While browsing around the bottles, I was offered assistance several times by different employees....and not in a pushy, used car salesman way. So different from all of the places I have to seek out assistance. If I had actually been shopping for alcohol I would've been interested in their help to find something new or locate an old favorite. I actually purchased zero alcohol on this trip. Instead, I was looking for beverage related gifts and accessories. Total Wine did not disappoint. The center area is full of just the types of items I was looking for. DONT GO HERE! Cashier Joanna PROFILED me and my girlfriend. Called the manager over and LIED about us being irate in front of us! Not to mention the cashier next to us said instantly that's not true. So she disrespected us and lied to her manager in front of her face. The worst part in all of this was she was asked to leave the floor by her manager (Brenda) and SHE SMILED AND LAUGHED AT US!! If this is the employment the management hires here consider my business gone. We've been here multiple times never seen Joanna and never had problems. The manager offered nothing to resolve the issue and allowed Joanna to continue to laugh and mock us and be sarcastic. There is also a cigar humidor and a tasting room, transforming this store from a purveyor of liquor into a destination. While standing in the checkout line, I noticed a board listing Total Wine & More's commitment to the community. I have always had pleasant experiences at this location...except for two days ago. Upon checking out, the cashier didn't greet me. I even said hello! No response. She asked if I was part of the rewards program, and I informed her that I wasn't sure. "Do you receive emails ma'am?" I told her I didn't think so. Then she asked "what's your phone number?" I started to provide my phone number and she said "just a moment ma'am I'm using both hands." Wtf? She didn't smile and when I said thank you and there was no you're welcome have a good day. The only way I'll describe the jerky chick was that she had long dark hair pulled in a ponytail and was wearing some sort of black gloves. The rest of the employees I've encountered have been great. Great seasonal craft beer selection. Pretty much every beer is available as singles - the only thing is the price is raised for singles vs the unit price buying as a six pack. Note that the best beers are at room temp - not in the refrigerated section. Hundreds of choices here. read more
