I wish every auto shop would use such a detailed report of the vehicle as they do here at Total True Automotive. I regularly take my vehicle in for oil changes and maintenance but have never received or been told all the things listed in this Total True Automotive Report that need to be repaired. I called to schedule service and was able to go in the next day. Leo was welcoming, courteous, and attentive. The oil change, tire rotation and alignment, and a thorough inspection were done in a timely manner. I used a discount code I got in the mail, but they also offer AAA and military discounts. If you don't have the money for repairs you can also pay with Affirm and if approved you would make monthly payments. This is a great option for someone on a tight budget. The one thing I did not like is that I know the AC needs repairs, but they would have to do a diagnostic before any repairs which will cost you almost $200 alone. read more

Their first action is a costly diagnosis. This is not always required and is avenue to increase their bottom line. Auto parts stores will run a diagnostic for free. I did not take my car in for brain surgery. And after a significant bill. The check engine light returned within minutes. I took it back and it was another like issue. This is the experience I had with Schertz Auto (Name changed to Total True Automotive); nothing but extraordinary. Had a flat tyre unfortunately and it was quite draining trying to find a good tyre shop that carries a particular performance EV tyre. This shop was recommended by AAA so decided to try it out after going to a quite dissatisfying shop that would not allow me to leave the car overnight while the tyre arrives. Not only did they offer gated/camera monitored storage while the tyre arrives, they explained everything quite clearly as well as educating the cutsomer about tyres and what/where to look. Due to my crazy work schedule, they even offered remote payment system via text/email, afterhours pickup instructions, and even a Lyft to pick you up/drop you off to/from the shop! Not only that, their tyre prices are extremely competitive. Brian and Nick were particularly helpful and understanding. They even offer military discount! This is probably one of the best tyre shops I have ever been to and definitely deserves their high rating. They charged my elderly parents $360 for "diagnostics" and to tighten a wiper blade arm. Come on man. A large part of the "diagnosing" was to try and up-sell them on almost $6000 in other service. Would not recommend. read more

I wish I could give negative stars. This place is nothing but crooks. Force charging for diagnostic testing. Tell me one day my charger is good and outline all these repairs needed. Pay $2,000 to get repairs done. 3 weeks later, engine light comes on. Take it back and of course I'm forced to pay another $200 diagnostic fee only to find out a hose slipped off. Clearly they're mistake. In the course of diagnostic check, they proceed to tell me my starter is now no good and would be $2,000. Same starter they said was good on previous visit. I've taken my car here for years for services/ inspection, we've never had an issue until this year. They failed my cars inspection for tint that they have passed for years. I have multiple receipts of my car passing with the tint that is on it. Last week they said the issue was my brow, today it isn't my brow but it is the two front windows. I don't see why the issue changed when we brought it in for the second time this month. Would not recommend going here due to dishonesty over the years. The lady at the front desk even said "this is weird we've serviced your car multiple times." Unfortunately we will no longer be going back to this business due to the deceitfulness. read more

Took my Durango in for an inop front a/c blower. Was told $179 for diagnosing the issue. Informed I needed a new TIPM Total Integrated Power Module. Total price $2,008. Decided to go elsewhere. Added $15 to the $179 diagnostic fee for shop supplies. Guess that was for soap, water, and paper towel, when they removed my tires to check the brakes?. Suggested an additional $2,000 in maintenance for items, half of which had already been accomplished recently. Of course this is standard procedure at a dealership, they never actually check most of this stuff just make recommendations based on the vehicles mileage. Never thought I would say this, but go to a dealership before you go here. The dealership was 25% less and I got it replaced for 40% less $1,212. Worst decision I ever made was going here for the estimate, best decision was going somewhere else to get it fixed. Can't speak to the quality of their work, but their prices are insane. Invoice #104876 Work Order#227014 Last week on 6/17/2021, I called and made an appointment for to trouble shoot my A/C system and was told to bring it by on Friday the 18th by 0900. We dropped it off and was told there was other cars with A/C system problems. So much for making an appointment. We got a call later that the expansion valve was probably the problem and the part would have to be ordered. We were told to bring the car back on Tuesday 6/22/2021. The service advisor told us also, that the front brake pads were worn and should be replaced and also was provided with other 58 items that needed attention- not associated with the A/C system. On Saturday, 6/ 19, I replaced the brake pads. Yesterday, 6/22, Vicky called and told me the technician pulled off both tires again and front brake pads were now good and didn't need to be replaced. I told her I replaced them on Sat. Funny how they fixed themselves and these brake pads were tied in with the A/C system. I told her I wanted to only talk about the A/C system. She stated the compressor needed to be replaced because of "shrapnel" from the compressor and provided me with a quote. I asked if the expansion valve could still be installed and she said no because it would not be covered under the warranty. What I didn't understand is why couldn't the expansion valve be cleaned and re-installed, knowing it would be clogged again until I could get his work done. I stated I didn't have the money right now to get this fixed. I told her we'd come by and pick up the car. What I didn't like it the time it took to perform the other 58 maintenance items that had nothing to do with the original A/C problem. What I didn't like was the front-end alignment. This had NOTHING to do with the A/C system problem. I didn't ask for this. I also didn't like the time it took to do an analysis on the fluids, (The technician took the time to look at my engine oil fluid that I had my oil changed very recently.), battery test, both air filters, front brake pads wear, and my key fob. Why the technician went ahead an pulled my tires off AGAIN on the second time to look at the brake pads is such a waste of time. In short, more time was spent doing a maintenance inspection check than focusing on my original problem. Granted, your business wants to do this inspection for the customer with items of concern, but it looked like to me upselling. The invoice provided me with quote for the expansion valve and compressor replacement, but I question the validity of needed items like the flush and condenser service which I believe was excess service for upselling and unneeded service. But, in my case, to check the front-end alignment was a huge waste of labor that my car could have been ready sooner and AGAIN, was not tied to the original problem. On 6/22, I got a survey from this establishment and I had three choices. The third was to be contacted directly. I entered my comment there and as of 6/25, I still haven't been contacted. I took my Nissan Sentra to get an alignment and a noise coming from one of my wheels checked out. Coming here was really the best choice I could've made. I set up an appointment and they quickly resolved my wheel issue. They also did an thorough inspection of my entire car and provided pictures and videos of any issues or things they fixed. Customer service was top notch and their prices were good. Fair prices + good customer service + well done jobs = happy customers. Today I got my truck back after taking it to them when a Dealership told me I need a $800.00 Brake Vacuum Pump replaced, and I was having a starting Problem. David replaced the Battery Free of Charge because they replaced it last year, he then called another Dealership and worked with them to find that Chevrolet had a special Bulletin on the issue with the Brakes and was offering the repair as courtesy recall. David could have just performed the job and took my money and I would have been none the wiser, but as usual he went the extra mile. My car certainly needs some work. I am well aware of that. But the prices at Schertz Auto are outrageous. I've been here twice and both times have walked away very disappointed in the results. They do a courtesy health inspection which sounds awfully nice, but it's really just their way of trying to get you to buy extra things that you don't need. Unfortunately I don't personally have a ton of experience with vehicles so I am probably an easy target for most auto shops, but I passed the results Schertz Auto gave me on to a close friend who was a mechanic for 10 years and he gave me the rundown and said some of their tests weren't even justified. Schertz auto even ranks the results from "need to deal with now" to less important, which again sounds nice, but all they're really doing is appealing to your psychological weaknesses and again trying to convince you that you need things you don't really need, at an outrageous cost. I will say the people at front are good at communicating and come off as very nice people, but it unfortunately doesn't match up with what they charge. If you have an extra $10k laying around, this is the place for you, if not, I'd recommend looking somewhere else! read more

Outstanding!!! I'm definitely returning for routine maintenance in addition to any car problems I have in the future, though I hope that won't happen in the near future. Long story short I was quoted a very high price from a competitor for three motor mounts on my Ford Focus. The other business wasn't even using the highest quality auto parts! Yet, at this place, I was told that I only needed to replace one motor mount. Schertz Auto Service used the best parts, fixed the problem and completed all of my car's 100,000 miles maintenance for a little more than the other business was trying to charge me for just replacing three motor mounts. Lastly they were done SOONER than the estimated time they gave me. My husband was impressed and he is not easily impressed. My husbands truck started driving weird and loud. He had to go to work so I took over trying to get it fixed asap. I took it to Schertz because of the good reviews. They said I had to leave it there and they'd call me later the same afternoon. They gave me a ride home, free. Called me at 2 and said the exhaust needed to be welded back together. They do a lot but unfortunately not welding. But they took my husbands truck to a welding shop i approved of. Had it fixed. Brought it back to their shop and made it so easy to get the truck fixed and I still got all my errands done. On top of that they didnt charge me a diagnostic fee even tho the work wasn't done at their shop. Very courteous. Very honest. Made it easy. Came in for a state inspection. Was told 15 minutes and got exactly both. They even had HGTV on which is always a plus being one of my favorite channels. Also they have a small area set up for customers to grab a drink and relax while you wait. It was only a simple state inspection so I can't evaluate on the quality of actual auto repair but for now I give it 5 stars! read more

We've been bringing vehicles here since relocating to the area over 10 years ago. Tried to get my daughter's car in for an oil change and discovered they no longer do afternoon appointments. The latest they'll accommodate is 11am. I went into the FM 3009 location I told them she gets off work at 11am and could be here by 11:30 barring traffic. No dice. The location on FM1103 actually told my daughter that perhaps she doesn't understand the services they provide and she'd be better off taking her car to a quickie lube place instead. The only other option I was offered by the FM 3009 location was to drop her car off the evening before and she would have it back 24 hours later. For an oil change? 24 hours? When I mentioned we'd been customers here for years the woman at the FM1103 location said she had looked up our history and it was "just for oil changes mainly." I guess that means they don't care if they lose our business, which they have. Growing to two locations has apparently been so successful they don't need small potatoes jobs anymore. read more

Overall I dislike repair shops like the plague, they always find something wrong with your car when you only go in for an oil change. All I needed was a single jump of the battery and the truck man fried my computer. Found this place not far from me and with good reviews so I opted to have my car towed here. Leo was the person helping me throughout the entire process. When he first called me to give me the estimate I almost lost my marbles because I didn't expect it to be so expensive. Not to mention It wasn't 100% the party at fault would be covering the damages. At the end the expenses came out of pocket but the customer service I received was great. Also, their work is guaranteed for 2 years or 24k. Very satisfied with them and will be my choice of place for any future car needs. read more

Update! Due to the very prompt reply on my review, i decided to wait and see how things improved over time. It was worth it. I went in and the whole staff was mostly masked properly (the guy doing the inspection took off his mask in my car). In all my experiences over there, SAS has been very friendly. Unfortunately, they don't enforce non maskers to wear their mask in the shop but i get this is fast becoming the norm in places in the area. The inspection was quick and being that i was "Johnny on the spot", i got free girl scout cookies. Even though i am now vaccinated, i really appreciate this place being safe and caring enough to quickly reply and resolve my previous issues. read more

Since we all have to have our automobiles serviced, this is the place to go. They are efficient, reasonably priced, knowledgeable and friendly. All of the mechanics and the owner review everything they're doing. They showed me a problem with my truck and were able to do a quick inexpensive repair. The waiting room is nice which is a perk. When I got home from my visit, I found a little Christmas bag! They make car maintenance a pleasant experience.
