Really, filters when the property owner provided them, we changed them as normal and left a few in the garage. I used the photos I took to prove the filters as well as the condition of the house which we left in better condition when we arrived. Yet we had to fight for $25 of filters, out of principle. They kept the entire deposit and they charged us for every day that we were there cleaning the house. They never told us that we would be charged. When I called to discuss the charges with the office manager Bernadette, she was so rude. She told me that " We dragged it out" when cleaning our Mom's house. How are you going to say to someone who just lost a parent. She showed no compassion. And her boss, the owner is even worse. They shouldn't be in business! They have missed the 21 day deadline per California Civil Code §1950.5. My husband has called several times and they keep saying they are waiting on an invoice. The unit we moved out of is already on the market to be rented. We are formally requesting our deposit. If we do not hear anything next week, we will look into suing RMS in small claims court.
