I have had to go for physical therapy on my lower back. I was finally pain free and was able to do my exercises & walking. Second time I had to go because of limited movement in my neck. Ian an older woman 76 yrs old. They helped me restore movement in my neck. I have extreme osteoarthritis in my neck. I recommend this place for any physical therapy. They are nice and very patient. They dedicate the necessary time to help in the recovery process. read more

My wife had an excellent experience with the physical therapy with Lee. Unfortunately, she has had many sessions at other facilities. This time it was for a torn meniscus (knee injury). Lee and the others at Total Physical Therapy were the best she has experienced. She was not rushed through the process and Lee took care to strengthen her with a variety of exercises. Also, the mobile app was a great tool for home exercises and follow-up care. She highly recommends Total Physical Therapy. read more

I was referred to Total Physical Therapy by my doctor due to pain in my neck and back. They took the time to properly instruct me on how to stretch and strengthen the muscles in my neck and back, ensuring that I would not cause further injury. I was provided pictures of how to do the exercises and access to a mobile app that had videos and a way to leave messages or ask questions. Even though exercising is not something I usually enjoy, the hour I spent working with the physical therapist each session flew by. I especially enjoyed working with Lee; he was always happy and kept my mind occupied with his entertaining stories and conversations. If I need physical therapy again, I will definitely go back to Total Physical Therapy. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Tom W.

Graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Science in 1994. He received his Master in Physical Therapy from Texas Tech School of Allied Health in 1999. Working in Amarillo since 2001, his primary emphasis has been treatment of orthopedic and sports related injuries as well as pre-employment employee screening/testing. He has been providing new hire (post-offer, pre-placement), post-injury/illness Return-To-Work, and Fit-For-Duty functional testing for local and national employers since 2006. Tom and his staff have served as the official rehabilitation providers of the Amarillo Bulls hockey team and the Amarillo Venom arena football team since 2008. Tom is a member of the Texas Physical Therapy Chapter, American Physical Therapy Association, Orthopedic Section, Sports Physical Therapy Section and Private Practice Section. The came in with a broken collarbone and multiple broken ribs. I was the second person in the waiting area, with an appointment and I came 25 minutes early. They didn't see me until 30 past my appointment time. The receptionists handed me my paperwork to fill out and shut the window in my face. Not even asking me what brought me there, or she would have noticed I couldn't write because of my dominant writing hand was immobilized. Both of them were snap chatting and cutting up instead of doing their jobs. When I finally got to see someone they didn't take a thorough patient assessment which resulted in an incorrect documentation of my accident and a insurance conflict. I had to leave and go see a different doctor. Unless you are a rich sports injury they don't care.

I pushed back when I did not want to pay $100 for a urine test and stated I would NOT be taking drugs - I just wanted a non-drug neck pain option. That first visit I waited 25 minutes past my appointed time and had to leave because I WORK and had to get back for a conference call. I rescheduled and that visit they took me back on time and they put me in 1 exam room and then "moved me to a nicer room" for no apparent reason. After waiting almost AN HOUR PAST MY APPOINTMENT TIME and asking the staff about it (including the doctor who said I could reschedule and I said I already HAD rescheduled my appointment and this was it), I was told I was next but another patient was put in front of me although I had specifically asked for the earliest appointment and was given the SECOND SLOT, ANOTHER PATIENT WAS PUT IN FRONT OF ME ANYWAY. I am not letting people who play games like that touch me. I am getting care in Dallas now instead. I am finding that medical care in Amarillo really SUCKS!!!! Talking to locals they say the same thing.
