We believe in the local economy and supporting independent business in the community for many reasons, including the quality of service and knowledge that comes with experience and a local mindset. The crew at Abominable were not only knowledgeable, they were absolutely fantastic in working with us to understand our needs, and work to deliver for us. McKayla and Chelsea at the front end got us sorted at the front end with clothes, helmets, and goggles, while Randy worked patiently with us on the skis and boots. All parties answered our questions and provided us with the understanding to assure we were getting what we needed. Once the items were selected, it was turned around super quick to get us back to the ski hill. We both ended up with new Elans and they rock!! Thank you Abominable for taking such great care of us. Would recommend you to anyone along with a solid 5 experience. Thanks!!! Jeff and Mike.

Here is what he has to say about the place: I took my AST1 with splitboard HQ last year. It was extremely well taught and Simon kept it interesting and fun. I've had parts break on my bindings and the guys there have been super prompt in helping me out as I live in Edmonton. They have kayaking activities in the summer but I don't know much about that. All in all the their customer support is a 10/10 , their knowledge on the back country, tools, tips and tricks is a 10/10. I wanted to try on some shoes and went around the mens section eye balling staff as they dashed past but still nothing. It wasn't super busy being a Tuesday afternoon, but again I gave up - this time frustrated! Rather than giving up on Spot Chek altogether as I think it's just this store that has poor customer service, I went to the East Hills location instead. A few days later I emailed to cancel my order and 5 minutes later saw an email from Canada Post that it was mailed. I have now received my order after over a month of running after the store. The order seems incorrect and I have posted a picture of two identical weight fabrics that I ordered with different colors. You can see that they are completely different qualities! I have attached a picture as proof and am happy to share the email histoty as well. Finally had to order from Hofman Outdoor and JTS Fabrics to complete my requirements. Never again!
