They really went above and beyond to make sure the night was perfect. This is an amazing place for golf lovers such a fun and unique setup, and all of our guests had the best time (even the non-golfers!). The whole vibe was warm and welcoming it honestly felt like we were hosting at home, but better. Highly recommend for events or even just a fun night out. We'll definitely be back!

There is no buffer time between reservations, which allows the business to run and honor the whole reservation time. Be respectful patrons! $60 for 1 Hour reservation UPDATED review with accurate timestamps provided by owner. We had a one-hour reservation scheduled for 8:00 PM and arrived on time. Unfortunately, the previous group did not vacate the bay until around 8:10 PM, and we did not get into the bay until 8:12 PM. We were then also set up and the group got drinks. Despite this delay, we were told during setup that we would still need to leave promptly at 9:00 PM due to another reservation. While we complied, it was frustrating to be rushed out when our reservation had already been cut short through no fault of our own. We were shortly told afterwards that the reservation afterwards would not be showing up and that we could stay the extra 10 minutes that was delayed at the beginning of our reservation. We accepted, but this was not the experience raced about by many others in the community. This experience wasn't about the money, but about fairness and professionalism. Reservations should be honored for their full duration, and customers shouldn't lose paid time due to scheduling issues. Given this experience, I'm hesitant to return. The owner demonstrated exceptional understanding and attentiveness, diligently listening to both parties involved and providing me with the precise information pertaining to our reservation. Although our party's experience was not entirely satisfactory, it is important to recognize that this is a small business located in Elk Grove, and it deserves an opportunity to thrive within the community.

I think in every city, there are things they are known for or things that are just iconic about the…read morecity and are truly spots you must visit in order to fully get a true picture of the soul of that city. In Sacramento when one brings up the golfing scene, the true mecca of golf in Sacramento begins and ends with Haggin Oaks Golf complex and Driving Range. In this review I wanna talk specifically about the driving range. My history with this range goes back pretty far,all the way back to 1996 when I moved to Sacramento from the Bay Area and didn't know a soul-so after work, especially on weekends with not much to do,I spent many a Friday and Saturday nights at the Haggin Oaks Driving Range working tirelessly on trying to perfect this game that is truly impossible to perfect. Over the years many things have changed at this range but a lot of very important things have remained the same, including a quality practice facility with well maintained mats and tees, along with quality balls to use when practicing at this location. Some of my favorite things today that they have that for sure didn't exist back in the 90s is the Top Tracer displays available at every practice stall which provides you with endless options for however you want to practice-be it golf games or serious data tracking to evaluate how far and straight you're hitting the golf ball. This facility is extremely popular,I would say it's the most popular range in Sacramento-if you come here on any random Friday or Saturday,no matter the hours,I guarantee this place will be packed, though there are so many practice stalls available,a spot will open up pretty quickly. Another thing I love about this spot is the ability to try out clubs in the pro shop before you buy them for free-you just go into the pro shop and find a club you want to try, then register with the pro shop guy and then just take the club out to the range for a quick practice session before deciding on purchasing the golf club. Haggin Oaks also has both a food truck on the premises and a bar stand where one can buy various alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy while working on your craft. Personally I've never bought any food from the truck but I do see people rave about the quality of their food offerings. This facility also has 3 separate putting greens one can use to practice their putting game-along with a separate area one can use to work on their chipping skills for free. I will admit this place isn't the cheapest place in the area to practice when it comes to the price of the balls, but I would say their prices are competitive with most golf courses and when you include the quality of this facility,I would say Haggin Oaks is unmatched. 25 balls cost around $6,while a large bucket of 100 balls run around $22. In closing-if the idea of trying out this game I love so much has ever crossed your mind and you want to come to a family friendly, skill friendly, wallet friendly environment-Haggin Oaks is your spot. Come on out and try this beautiful game of ours called golf.

I want to start by saying that Haggin Oaks Golf Course and its facilities are fantastic. The…read moregrounds, range, and overall experience of being at the course are excellent. I truly enjoy being there. However, the quality and professionalism of some of the golf instruction staff need serious attention. I've participated in multiple group classes and had experiences with at least three older male instructors. While I respect their years of experience and knowledge of the game, the teaching environment has often felt outdated and, at times, inappropriate. There have been repeated "good old boys" style jokes, dismissive comments, and remarks directed toward women that felt unnecessary and unprofessional. One instructor, Don Pottle, even told several of us that he would "cut off our hands" if we held the club the wrong way again. While I understand that this may have been intended as humor, comments like that create an uncomfortable and intimidating learning environment -- especially for newer golfers. Golf is evolving. The culture of the sport is becoming more inclusive, welcoming, and diverse. Instruction should reflect that shift. Many new players -- especially women and younger golfers -- are looking for knowledgeable coaches who can teach effectively without relying on outdated humor or intimidation tactics. Haggin Oaks has an opportunity to lead in this area. Expanding the instructional staff to include more women and younger instructors, or investing in professional development around inclusive coaching, would make a significant difference. The facilities are great. The teaching culture just needs to catch up with the times.

I'm a golf enthusiast. Play at least 2X / week. I'm a golf ball tester for an on-line golf forum…read more I wanted to get data on several brands of golf balls. So I booked a session here. It was my first ever visit. It's easy to book a session via the website. Pre-pay and heaven code is sent to open the locked doors. This business is open 24/7. It is unmanned. The place is squeaky clean. It's well organized. As a newbie I did have a steep learning curve to launch the game console and the projection system. I've never played video games. After 15 minutes of button pushing the control monitor and flubber-dubbering I finally got it up and running. So #1 recommendation: offer customers the assistance of an employee who teaches a newbie how to run the simulator. If it would cost an extra $15 that would be a good value. I had a planned routine to test 5 different golf balls. I ended up having to swing 125 shots for the record and another 30 for warm-up and repeats when I flubbed a swing or when the Uneekor system did not correctly track the shot. That took 75 minutes. I only paid for an hour session. The system did not lock me out after the 60 minute session expired. My one criticism is the responsiveness of the operating system. It was S...L...O...W... Choosing a routine such as a driving range took the machine at least 2 minutes to launch. I poked the touch screen multiple times to choose a function with no beep feedback response nor the function launching. I don't know if the machine (Bay #1) was glitchy or if this is the usual quality. Once I got the system to work, the simulator did track the ball flight and display the data pretty quickly. So will I use this facility for practice or a simulated round of golf? Probably not. The allure of golf for me is being outside in the sunshine, breathing fresh air. So being in a dark room smashing golf balls into a movie screen is a completely different experience. I will return if I'm tasked again to test golf equipment that requires data gathering.

Right off the bat-you got to know this place is not fancy-this is the kind of place the serves that golfer who is just beginning-the kind of person who maybe has thought about golf and wants to give it a shot-this is where they head. This driving range is truly a no judgement zone,so many beginners,so many people there who this may be the 1st time they ever held a golf club-I love that about this place, you never know who your going to see here,it can be someone like me who has been playing golf for over 30 years or literally a kid or teenager or woman's group or older person who has never touched a club before-your going to see all types of people, every age, every skill level and it's great. This place has zero dress code-not that all golf course do but some places you can really standout if u show up in gym shorts and a tank top-but not here-anything goes and nobody will give u a 2nd look if u have no clue what your doing. The place has a few cool features that I enjoy-it has a putting area so you can go out there and work on your putting at zero cost.It has a very good short game area where one can work on their short game but it does cost $7 an hour to get access to that area. This place does have ample parking so that should never be a problem, there is a pro shop on premises as well-Inside your able to buy range tokens which you use to get range balls to use on the range.Prices range from $7 for a small bucket(40 balls) to $24 for a "Leader" bucket which is 200 balls. What I do is buy the Leader bucket for $24 and they give you 5 tokens for 40 balls each and then I spread out their usage over multiple visits since 40 balls is more than enough for a driving range session, which brings the cost down to under $5 a bucket-a very very good price for a small bucket. The pro shop also sells beers and sodas and snacks along with just about any other golf accessory you could possibly need from driving range tees to full on brand new golf sets-it's a decent shop-gets the job done. The gentleman who owns the range also works the shop-he is an amazingly kind man,he is a little rough around the edges when you first meet him but once you get to know him,he is the best-super helpful and chatty-he is truly an asset to this location. Overall what I will say about this place is this-if you have ever had the idea that maybe you have an interest in golf and want to go to a judgement free spot where you can try it out-this is your place. If you want a no frills spot to go and work on your game-this is your place. If you want a spot you and your friends can meet and chill and maybe throw back a beer or two while doing something somewhat active-this is your place. So do yourself a favor and head on out to Leader Golf and give this amazing game a chance-it just might start a lifelong obsession-see ya out there. You also buy the tokens for the golf balls inside the shop then proceed to getting your ball from the machine (it's self service). Just choose a bay which no one is using. Cordova is a classic old-school muni layout. The pluses for me are :…read more1) Reasonable pricing, Senior discount available. 2) You don't have to rent a golf cart if you don't mind walking, it's a shorter length course overall ( please Ignore this comment when the temperature gets over 90 !) 3) Small practice putting green and large driving range available. 4) They do have a small restaurant, with patio seating available, and alcohol is served :) 5) Friendly staff, from the pro shop, to the rangers, to the restaurant staff. There are no water fountains on the course, but there is a cooler available at the Driving Range, plus on hotter days, a Course Ranger drives around in a golf cart with a big water cooler on it. 6) The "old school" muni course feel. I grew up on courses like Cordova in the Chicago area, and because I'm now officially an old fart, I'd much rather play a fun muni I can still walk, just like Cordova, than play a ridiculously hard upscale ("expensive") course (like Apple Mountain, close to me) that Army Rangers would have a tough time walking ! The minuses for me are : 1) I like to walk on, instead of having a tee time, since I have about a 45 minute drive, and can never tell how busy the roads I have to take will be - plus I can never guess if the course is going to be really busy or not ( and watch out for high school golf teams in the afternoon), as I like to play fast, and you WILL encounter some slow groups (and usually when it's so busy that you can't play through !) 2) Although there's plenty of grass, and a lot of it is in good shape, (kudos to the Groundskeeper !) some areas are either way too wet, way too dry, or way too much dirt instead of grass. 3) It is a shorter length course overall, so don't get a big head if you think you're hitting it longer all of a sudden ( you're not, the holes are just shorter !) 4) Grass conditions (and/or lack of grass) can vary widely from hole to hole, and even shot to shot) as you can end up in a nice patch of fluffy country-club quality grass, to a real soggy area, or to #$@% rock-hard dried mud. But c'mon, it's a busy Muni, don't complain, just consider it part of the experience ! 5) Bunker conditions can also vary widely hole to hole, from basically hardpacked cement to wow, this is a nice trap ! 6) Although the rangers do a great job driving around offering cold water on warm days, I literally never have seen a ranger get involved in dealing with slow play groups. But overall, Cordova gets two thumbs up from me !
