The TEE stables and program is amazing. It's in a lovely location that is not too far from the city at all. The teachers are so nice and so knowledgeable. They take such good care of the horses. And the technique is an incredible foundation. My daughter started with an assessment class, she was put with younger riders because she was a beginner- she didn't like that at first but I told her it was for her benefit and she just needed to concentrate on herself. She quickly advanced to a class with teens at her level and loves her lessons each week! The website was a bit confusing to me but stick with it- it's worth it, and once you start to text Gayle it's very smooth, she's very nice. Some of the kids work/learn at the stable all the time and there's an immersive summer camp. Having been around other stables in my life this is hands down the nicest people. My daughter enjoyed the PeeWee camp this summer. Class size was small and she came home so excited to tell me about her day. While I didn't get to observe any of the activities since parents only drop off then leave, I was given a couple of photos at the end of the day. Also a daily update during pick up. Email communication and instructions prior to the camp was thorough. May sign up for more classes. read more

I enrolled my five year old in the beginning group horse lessons and she absolutely loves it here. TEE has such a warm family environment, I love the size and the attention my daughter gets especially as a beginner. She can have the wiggles at times but horse lessons at TEE have really helped her with her attention and understanding when to play and when to focus. We love the instructors and the care they have for not only the students but the animals as well. Highly recommend TEE!! read more

The owner and staff truly care about their riders and take the time to not only teach the children how to ride, but teach them how to care for the horses as well. My 9 year old and 5 year old both attended horse camp over the summer this year (yes even during these crazy COVID times). Not only were they ecstatic about going to camp everyday, they both learned so much and had such a great time. I appreciate all Of the hard work that went into ensuring the kids and staff were kept healthy during these trying times!! My 9 year old daughter participated in a week of horse camp this summer, including a one night camp out, and had a wonderful time! She loved getting all of the ride time, caring for the horses, and crafts and game time. Seeing her confidence during the parent presentation when she stood up on the back of the horse was amazing. She absolutely loved the sleepover where they set up their tents in a horse turn out and went on a night ride. After nearly 4 years at this barn I can absolutely tell you that it is safe place. They teach the kids to handle horses and how to ride correctly and safely. If you want your kid/s to understand how to ride and stay as safe as possible on a horse this is the place for you. I can tell you that in most competitions their riders are doing very good. But it is not just about that..... I only updated my review cause I happened to read some reviews witch sound like people expecting copy - paste results ON TOP OF 1000 pound HORSE!!! This place has a really great offering! The horses are well cared for, the staff is both skilled and knowledgeable and the facility is very nice. In particular the summer program is awesome. Positives: I signed my child up for Kinder Camp and she had such an amazing experience she wanted to sign up for any available dates that were available. The counselors were knowledgeable and so great with her. She had so many fun activities she came home at noon pooped out. Feedback: The communication could be better. I didn't receive the list of activities until the night before camp started and had to follow-up a few times to receive the email. All in all, great experience for my child. My eight-year-old did summer camp and took weekly group lessons and had an awesome experience. The instructors and staff are great and my daughter learned so much. When my daughter hit a snag in her growth due to skittishness, the instructors were able to talk it through with her and she was able to literally get back in the saddle! The instructors also gave her the tools she needed to manage unexpected horse behavior. The older riders also help out and provide a different perspective for the young riders. The only thing I would caution is that their new location at Mountain Meadows Ranch was crazy hot in summer and can get really windy in the winter. read more

Can't say enough about this place! Gayle is responsive and professional, as are her trainers, Ashley and Leah. After 6yrs out of the saddle, these ladies made the transition back into riding smooth and easy! Highly recommend for private lessons. Such a great place! Everyone is so helpful. Gayle is fast at responding and always tries to assist in any way with all. Ashley is awesome and an amazing attentive trainer. I had not ridden before and from day 1 was comfortable because of Jennifer and Heather showing me all the steps in detail and being patient all the way through. I was looking to start horseback riding lessons and found a couple spots I thought were promising. However, once I got into contact with TEE owner Gayle, I knew this was the place for me. She always responded to my endless questions via text with speed, understanding, and total clarity. The ranch where she and her staff work is spotless, organized, and well cared for. Jen is always there and always willing to lend me a hand or word of reassurance when I'm trying to tack up my horse or if I misplace my helmet lol and Ashley is literally the best trainer you could ask for. She's patient, clear, understanding, and energetic. She walks endless miles around the horse corral with you and just keeps up conversation effortlessly. I'm 28 but I overhear how she works with kids too and the quality of the lessons are always the same. I live in Beverly Hills and make the trek out to the valley every Friday afternoon simply because I don't wanna go anywhere else and I don't wanna be instructed by anyone but Ashley. I started off knowing absolutely nothing about horses and horse back riding but now I'm on my second horse and have been showing in dressage for over 2 years. I have kept my horse at TEE for 3 years. The stalls are immaculate and my horse is very well cared for. It's a very family oriented barn and all the trainers are amazing. If you are learning to ride or just have a very green horse, there is a trainer perfect for you. It's not a one size fits all kind of place, all the lessons and training are very individualized to fit your needs and goals. If you don't have a horse they have the most amazing, safe, lesson horses. All the trainers are professional and put safety and proper horsemanship first! Come out and visit, you won't be disappointed, lots of junior riders and adult amateurs too! read more

I have to agree with all points with one of the reviews below. We are leaving this stable after being there for only 3 months. The group lessons are very large at 6 people in the arena. My daughter did a couple private lessons in a tiny pen. The property needs some serious tender loving care. There are tons of tweens and teenagers helping with lessons and the teacher comments on a loud speaker as your child rides by her in the arena. We did a trial run at another ranch as I want to move my daughter elsewhere. The teacher commented that my daughter had picked up some bad riding habits and explained to me why they were unsafe. When my daughter returned to TEE I listened closely to see if the teacher corrected these same bad habits as now I was aware of them and could easily spot them. The teacher did not comment. I would not recommend this ranch. read more

Not only do the trainers and staff have incredible knowledge on how to teach they are able to work with children with special needs. They are the most down to earth and caring group . If you want a family oriented place to ride you will find it here. Gayle (the owner) and all the TEE instructors are fabulous. They genuinely care about your children and want the best for them. I am so grateful to have brought my girls here 3 years ago. Lessons are great and offer many different ones for every level. New lessons start the first Saturday of the month except for July as they are closed for the week for Fourth of July. Summer camp is absolutely the best. My girls learn so much during this time. If you are looking to learn how to ride VERY VERY slowly this place is for you. But, my 12 yr old daughter was unhappy just sitting on a horse and someone else pulling the horse with a lead after she had already been regularly trotting at another school. We did not feel she was challenged or taught anything at this place. Just a total waste of money for us. There are more efficient schools around especially in the Thousand Oaks area. read more

The leaders of the camp are very competent, and the whole ethos of TEE is to be applauded. They focus on the importance of responsibility and independence, and have fun at the same time. Very happy. My daughters and I rode for years at this place. The more we learned, the less we realized they knew. The instructors are at the same level as the students and horses were always injured and/or colicing. We went to several other reputable schools and took lessons outside of TEE because we didn't like all the drama and unprofessional behavior. Our hunch was correct. They were teaching my kids wrong. We realized that their methods are not safe for horse or rider but when we questioned them, we received an eviction notice. Best thing that ever happened to us!! read more

My daughter has been riding at TEE for over 6 years. I've watched the instructors thousands of times. They are beyond instructors...they are mentors, they are family. This ranch teaches so much more than riding and my daughter wouldn't be the same person without it. WHAT A JOKE! The lessons, the property, the trainers (some).... The lessons are at such a slow pace so your child keeps coming back, even though they could have learned a lot more in the same amount of time. The property is in such disarray that they have clean up days asking patrons to help clean it up and or donate supplies! One dirt, pothole filled driveway for going in and out and an OUTHOUSE for students to use instead of the inside restroom that only staff can use. The trainers are OK but not truely experienced enough to get your child to the next level within a reasonable amount of time. And the owner Ashley... is mean, yells and braides students constantly. The summer camp is a joke too as it is too hot most days for children to be riding horse, so they keep the children in trailers doing crafts for the same amount of money as riding the horses. If your looking to pay a lot of money to have your child sit on a horae and be lead around the arena of a dirty "ranch", while being yelled at by this woman Ahley, and have your child learn to use an outhouse, this is the place for you. If not, go elsewhere. There are plenty of really good ranches in chatsworth, burbank, etc. Good luck. read more

My daughter has gone to the full summer camp for 2 years and has been taking lessons for a year. I have seen so much growth in her in so many ways. She has always been shy,quiet and has low confidence. Each year all those things has noticeably changed. Every ride she grows mentally stronger.
