Then they ask if I wanted it painted and of course you would want it painted in the middle of winter because of rain and weather you don't want it getting rotten again. The quote had no mention of flashing metal or painting and that is where they got me. If you use them make sure you talk about obvious cost overruns because that flashing was obvious in my mind.

We have a six sided custom home built by a solar engineer in the 1970's using the best and incidentally about the heaviest materials available for windows at the time. Six floor to ceiling double pane shatter proof metal frames, most over 12 feet above the ground. Three slightly smaller windows of the same type, two sliding patio doors replaced over a deck 14 foot tall,. Two 5 feet wide sliding windows and a double hung entry door. All in five days. Two guys with occasional backup, 5 days. The work was completed EXACTLY as agreed. The doors and windows are straight, level, plumb, square, and beautiful. There are no drafts. We can no longer hear the wind or traffic passing. And we can now see out of windows we could see through since we bought the house. Best money I ever spent and based upon many years of construction experience, Mike Hara is the best contractor I have ever dealt with. He knows his business. Price? You can waste your time land get a lot of "estimates" or you can call Hara's and get a real price quoted. If you do get other quotes to compare, remember the difference between price, cost and value. Price is the number on the sticker. Cost is leftover things that do not make the purchase order but cost you extra time like a sloppy , unfinished job and the hassle of getting things corrected to YOUR satisfaction. Even extra money. Remember it's only an "estimate." There is none of that with Hara's. They are right on price. There are no external costs to you. Tha makes value in the equation sky-high. They have a large selection of window frame materials to choose from and our choice of fiberglass was an easy one. It was explained to us that fiberglass windows are stronger than both vinyl and wood, making them incredibly resilient to weather and climate -- perfect for PNW homeowners. From start to finish, our team of window installers provided friendly service, excellent craftsmanship, and it took only two days to install the 10 new windows in our home. Before, during and after, the team cleaned up and kept the work site tidy at all times. There was minimal damage to our landscaping as well. They had no clue but promised to follow up with me the same day. Never happened. Between two and three weeks later, they called reporting that the order was ready to pick up. I picked up the order. No apology, no ownership of responsibility. Based on the shipping label on the box, my original order had never been sent. I'm setting up to install the parts. What's this? The wrong size? Not the size I explicitly ordered (in person - by bringing in the faulty one). I sent a complaint via the website. A couple of days later, I got a phone call from a manager. After a brief discussion, I was promised a follow-up call for later the sale day. Never happened. Now, a few days have passed. Still nothing.
