If you need windows and door replaced in the Salem area, there is only one place. Hara's. They have over three decades of experience and employees who have been there as long. They know their business because they have handled every type and style of home Oregon has to offer. We have a six sided custom home built by a solar engineer in the 1970's using the best and incidentally about the heaviest materials available for windows at the time. Six floor to ceiling double pane shatter proof metal frames, most over 12 feet above the ground. Three slightly smaller windows of the same type, two sliding patio doors replaced over a deck 14 foot tall,. Two 5 feet wide sliding windows and a double hung entry door. All in five days. Two guys with occasional backup, 5 days. The work was completed EXACTLY as agreed. The doors and windows are straight, level, plumb, square, and beautiful. There are no drafts. We can no longer hear the wind or traffic passing. And we can now see out of windows we could see through since we bought the house. Best money I ever spent and based upon many years of construction experience, Mike Hara is the best contractor I have ever dealt with. He knows his business. Price? You can waste your time land get a lot of "estimates" or you can call Hara's and get a real price quoted. If you do get other quotes to compare, remember the difference between price, cost and value. Price is the number on the sticker. Cost is leftover things that do not make the purchase order but cost you extra time like a sloppy , unfinished job and the hassle of getting things corrected to YOUR satisfaction. Even extra money. Remember it's only an "estimate." There is none of that with Hara's. They are right on price. There are no external costs to you. Tha makes value in the equation sky-high. I worked directly with Mike, Donna, Thomas, and Brandon. They're good people and they made it possible for us to get this big project done. 5 stars and a smile. BTW Real review. I have no cnnections whatsoever with Hara's Vinyl Windows or their employees except for the increased pride we have now have in our lovely home. Need windows? Call Mike. Ask him to drive you by here. He's welcome anytime to show off his work. read more

Hara's Vinyl Windows - Windows Installation Near Me - Salem, Oregon

Mike provided seven windows for me. Three of them were way off the measurements I gave him. He provided three correct replacements but charged me for part of the replacements. When I did not pay in a timely manner he sued me. The court sided with him when I could not make the court date. I now owe almost 150% more, and I now have a lien on my house. I have been ordering and replacing windows from another distributor for years without a problem. I tried Hara's because they were less expensive. I guess I have learned my lesson. P.S. I had to make custom framing because some of his windows were out of square. That also cost me a lot of money. read more

Remember a commercial about the last honest something. I'm thinking Hara's is the last honest vinyl window company we have left. He was my 5th business to contact about difficulty opening my sliding glass door. Mike was on time, professional, diagnosed the problem/solution gave me a great price and promise to order the part and call to schedule I heard that from 2 previous companies, did they, nope. One company was so high priced I didn't want them to return. And of course there's always no show no call in the group. Did Mike call me back? Nope, he showed up the next day, with the parts, fixed my door in less than 20 and cost was less than he originally said. Wow! Thank you Hara's. You are so appreciated. So if you need vinyl window work, don't do like I did, call Hara's first not 5th read more

I had several bids done for new windows on my home and after a friend recommended Hara's I gave them a call. They were by FAR the most affordable. They're communicative, easy to get a hold of and the installers were friendly and efficient. I'm a Real Estate agent and will be recommending them to all of my clients in need of new windows. read more

Hara's installed a defective window on our home. When Mike called me after I said I would not pay the bill he said the manufacturer would not take the window back (not my problem). Months later they called and tried to collect for the window. I told the caller the window was defective. Mike called and said they had a new window to replace the defective window. The installer arrived and removed the first defective window and said the replacement window was too bowed to install and reinstalled the first defective window. I called Mike, no return call. The installer told me the surrounding plastic may not tolerate another attempt at installation because of the age of the material. James in his review was not sure if they are still in business.. I am surprised they are still in business. Homeowner beware!!!!! I have found another company to install the window. read more

I don't think this business is still in business. We have called 3 times and left messages to call us back but nothing. We need new windows for our house and would really like support local business but it looks like Lowe's is going to get this job. :-( read more

I am now paying off a debt created when the owner miswrote down a window size. I could not make it to the court date where Mike sued me for the cost of one window. He then put a lien on my house. I have now paid $494 dollars for one small window that was the wrong size. Mike is the most unethical businessman I have ever worked for. If anybody wants to see the original sheet of my measurements, I have kept it. read more

be sure your need is worth their while. we had a damaged sill with dry rot. said they would be back when bigger orders were finished, never heard from them again. read more

Great pricing, super easy to work with! Got a free in-person estimate and window was installed within a month. Super easy to work with.

We just had Mike, the owner, come out an do an estimate to replace our picture windows. While he was here meeting with my hubby, he put a briefcase on my very expensive dining table which is solid wood and pristine and scratched it - actually dug a ding into it. When I arrived home a half hour after Mike left - my hubby showed me right away and said he pointed it out - so I called to speak with him. He did not get on the phone but told his receptionist or whoever answered the phone that he didn't do it! He didn't have the courtesy to even speak to me. I will not have someone in my home who doesn't respect the things that we work so hard to have. He will not be installing windows in our home, for sure! read more

Very good work. Did what they said they were going to do, on time and on budget. Thank you Mike and Team!

Very easy to work with and very professional. The owner came to our house twice to make sure the measurements were correct. Then the workers were extremely nice and pleasant. They showed some of the best professionalism I have seen. They really represented the company very well and made it to where when I need more windows replaced I will definitely use this company again. On top of this they were extremely reasonable on the price. read more

I had 10 vinyl windows and a sliding glass door installed to replace my old, failed metal framed windows. The crew was very professional. They cleaned the work site completely every day before they left. The job took 3 days to complete, even though the last day we were hit with a snow storm that really should have stopped them early in the morning! They worked until the job was completed and the site cleaned. I love my new windows and I am the envy of my neighborhood! I was originally very concerned because this company has nearly no online presence! But I went to their office and saw their work board completely filled with nothing but referrals, so they aren't really concerned about building an online name! They do their business the old fashioned way. The only problem they have is that it is very difficult to get in touch with them sometimes because they only have one secretary in the office and the owner answering the calls ... very small company; and very busy. But I couldn't be happier with the product or the service! read more

Hara's just finished installing new windows in our home today. The windows are very high quality. The installers are excellent craftsmen and take pride in their work. The owner of the company is an honest person and explained the process to us upfront and gave us options for materials and trim. I highly recommend this company read more

My daughter and son and now I have had our windows replaced by Hara's. They have done a great job on all three of our homes. I would and have suggested to my family and friends to use these guys. Had my windows in only a couple of days and can tell a difference already. Update: My brother just had his windows replaced. He's very happy also. read more

I have a rental business with several, single family, dwellings. I have used Hara's for all our window needs. In the last two years alone they have removed and replaced all the windows in two of those homes. First they make sure that their measurements are accurate to ensure a proper fit. Next they use the finest products available and all the work done for us has been excellent. The new vinyl windows made the homes look 99.9% better. However, the best part was that the new windows saved our tenants a lot of money throughout the year. All the people employed by Hara's, have been friendly, professional and eager to do a great job. Needless to say their customer service has remained top notch, as I have seen other companies in the building trades deteriorate. As you surely can tell by reading this I would recommend Hara's to anyone who needs new Vinyl Windows no matter if the job is big or small. read more
