Great job making appointments and taking credit card transactions in the spot. Had AC cleaning scheduled. Outside went well and other mechanicals were in attic. They charged me and said they didn't have a filter to replace dirty one in attic but promised to send pics of their job with sizes and where to replace filter etc. No email or follow-up. I finally get in attic to figure out size and found my dirty filter laying to the side, hence my unit was running for days without a filter. Not impressed. That said, they may be capable of good work but I expect a level of customer service before, during and following the job, not just up until my credit card clears. Good luck everyone! read more

I scheduled a furnace and central AC unit cleaning. Agreed upon the price on the phone, but thought it was a little high, and left a check with my husband to give to the tech when he was finished. Unfortunately, my husband didn't follow the kid around and check his work afterwards. Thankfully my ring doorbell camera caught the whole interaction between my husband and the tech. I got home from work to find neither unit was cleaned, and the check was already cashed. The kid tried to tell my husband neither unit was functional and that they would have to be replaced. Went as far as to say the furnace would be red flagged if someone else were to come inspect it. Despite my husband telling him the AC was working fine the week before the kid insisted it didn't work and had no freon in it. It was like he was reading from a script to intimidate and instill fear into the elderly so that they would buckle and say, go ahead, replace my units. After many phone calls and emails, they finally returned our money via a check 2 months later. They ARE NOT a local small business. They are owned by Sila Services LLC out of Ohio. We live in an over 55 community and it saddens me that they are probably pulling the same scam on the elderly here. STAY FAR FAR AWAY from this company. Family-owned small businesses with references is the only way to go! I don't know how people like this sleep at night. We contracted with TCC to remodel two bathrooms. When we discovered a leak dripping into the basement, TCC inspected it and acknowledged that it was a crack in the material they had installed. Further they acknowledged that they had this same issue in other installations. They told me that the manufacturer would provide the replacement base to them. After that they stopped responding to me. They said that there had been some shakeups in their management, but the lack of response has continued. Unfortunately they do not stand behind their work. Tech was 50 minutes late with no apology. Tech appeared unknowledgeable. Tech left panels off my furnace and lights on after supposedly finishing his work. Tech did an incomplete job. This was a simple, routine yearly furnace maintenance and tech refused to change clogged air filters. When confronted with all this issues, tech became hostile and ran his mouth. Office personnel refused to connect me with a manager to voice my concerns and complaints. Very, very bad company. Never using again. I suggest you don't use them either. read more

I am surprised that Home Depot recommends their use. I recommend you avoid. The only plus is that they install Mitsubishi mini-splits - the bad is everything else. Their installation of the mini splits was defective in that two of the units weren't sealed properly (they tucked rags around them rather than sealant) as a result we got mold in those units and into the bedroom - which had to be cleaned. They then tried to charge for rectification of their poor installation. They are extremely unreliable - with multiple cancellations for service appointments. - and their pricing now works out at over $500 an hour. read more

Because I had had a pretty good experience with these guys installing a water heater (through Home Depot) I called them when my furnace wasn't working. The "technician" took 5 hours to clean the burners and replace the flame sensor - still not working - and decided that it would need a new control board (for this information they charged $500). He quoted approx $2000 for a new board (part only) and said it probably wasn't worth it and I should get a new furnace - said someone would be in touch to determine what I wanted to do .. and if I was "lucky" they would put the $500 I already paid towards the cost of a new furnace if I chose to go that way. I did a little research and found that I could buy a replacement control board from a variety of suppliers from between $150 and $180 depending on the supplier. I called Total Climate Control (as they never called me back) and they still insisted that there was no way they could do the work for less than $2000, even after I told them what I'd found. Long story short, ordered the board (paid $158), installed it myself in less than 1 hour and the furnace is now working beautifully. I am not sure how Total Climate Control stays in business, and can only speculate that it's because of their relationship with Home Depot installing water heaters and furnaces. Whatever you do, do NOT call them for repair service - either they are deliberately trying to con people, or they are just incompetent. Or both. Either way, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. I set an appointment to have my HVAC system serviced by total climate control in September 2024. We scheduled for October 6 of 2024. A couple of days before the appointment they called and asked to reschedule for November 12, 2024. I agreed to. They called to confirm the appointment November 11, 2024. They called me the time that they were supposed to be at my house on the day of the appointment to tell me that they were not going to be able to make it and tried to schedule me for another month out in December. We're supposed to clean gas furnace, told them it wasn't igniting.. they said they did a diagnostic on it couldn't figure it out would have to come back cost $350 for diagnostic,, never cleaned furnace, charged me a diagnostic fee was here for 2 hours. NEVER even took apart anything to check which I have proof cause none of the screws were undone or anything cleaned, had other company come and found issue, a 12 dollar part... and other company told me and showed me that nothing was taken apart... Warning. I signed an agreement with Total Climate Control through Home Depot to clean my tenants' furnaces. Unfortunately, the appointment was canceled at the last minute and postponed for months which resulted in a furnace failing to work. Then Total Climate Control broke their agreement trying to charge me 4x the original agreed price to get the furnace running and charged me an exorbitant amount just to tell me this. Stay away from them. They gave me 14 days after my first call. After 14 days technician over charged price. They did not make any repair on my AC but I see they put level 1 leak repair to my bill. I was with technician with his while work. He just fill the gas about 3lb. They charged me 3lb of gas 3*198 plus level 1 leak repair without any repair job about $598. It was Home Depot arrangement and I refused to sign bill. Home Depot charge my card whole. Next day after service A/C stopped to work. I call them back and they gave me another service after 14 days later. According Second technician records first technician filled about 1lb more gas the system and system compressor shut off itself. I still did not understand what the leak repair was. Tried to reach manager of the company. Call them many times after first service. They refused to talk simply not call me back. While the second technician came he told me that he has some paperwork which company send with him. I told him I will not sign any until the manager call me. Surprisingly they called me about 15 minutes after I refused to sign. They told me they will refund 1lb gas through Home Depot and they did. Still no information about leak and what technician fix that day. Still I did not sign first service invoice. Stay away from this company if the Home Depot sends them to you. Ask them find another or find yourself online. I was planning to change my whole house windows with Home Depot Merrimack. After this experience with Home Depot arrangement I will not work oowith Home Depot for this project and any future projects. read more

My hot water heater died and flooded my basement. TTC was referred through Home Depot for installation of a new unit. The technician was a good guy. He answered all of my questions and he was pretty thorough. After the 5 hour install my water was finally running hot and the technician left. But I noticed something was wrong. After several hours, the water pressure still seemed like it had air in the line. I'm not a trained plumber, but it was obvious. I didn't think much of it. Just thought the new heater was working out its kinks. Before bed, I went down to check on everything and one of the new pipes that he installed was leaking... Brand new heater had a small pool of water congregating near the electrical... I called Total Climate's emergency line and it went to voicemail. They supposedly have a person on-call but he never called me back. I was forced to turn off all of my water and power at 10pm at night and wrap a towel around the leaking pipe until morning. TTC sent someone out the next day while I was at work and supposedly fixed the problem, but never sent me a report of what was done, even after calling and speaking with someone to request one. I eventually asked for a supervisor to request some money back on the work that was done since it was done inadequately. I was not ever going to request a full refund. Maybe just $200 - $300 for my trouble. The supervisor, Matt, was already on the defensive when he returned my call. I started out professional and explained the situation to him just like I did here, even explaining that I did NOT want disciplinary action taken against the technician, but that I simply wanted a courtesy discount, only a small fraction of the nearly $2,000 that I paid. He just kept repeating himself saying, "that's the cost of the install. I am unable to discount it." No matter what I said, he just kept saying the same thing. It was like he was just parroting some script. Like he hated his job and was going to make sure I felt as miserable as him. He wouldn't budge an inch. Technicians make mistakes, that's life. But it's management's job to remedy that and retain customers. I told Matt I'd be leaving this review and reporting this experience to Home Depot because it is absolutely unacceptable that a trained technician leaves without adamantly checking for leaks, an emergency line is left to voicemail, and then to be treated like I am unreasonable for asking for a small break for my much larger, more expensive inconvenience. Home Depot is actually working with me to give me some money back. It was so easy. But if Home Depot recommends you use TTC, ask for someone else. read more

I paid $6,294 to have a York a/c R410a condenser and air handler installed May 31, 2019. As of July 21, 2019 it has not worked yet. It is 6pm and it's 87 degrees inside my house. I have had 5 subsequent tech visits, water damage to my bathroom ceiling, walls and light from the condenser that is in the attic above it. Bottom line: It was not installed properly: 1) No drip pans - internally or externally to the unit 2) the drainage piping was not secured so there was dripping 3) the system was not pitched to move the water outside. Each tech who showed up tried to fix it by jury-rigging because the real fix is to re-install the unit with the help of 2 techs. Now I'm being told to wait. Don't even think about doing business with these people. read more

They were advised 3 times I live out of state and need to make necessary arrangements for someone to be at the house in NH. When I asked for money to pay the house-sitter who sat there for 5 hours for me (despite phone calls to TCC asking when they were going to show), the owner, Matt, accused me of EXTORTION. Extortion? For money that I have to lay out because YOUR COMPANY decided not to show despite 3 confirmations and a confirming email? Extortion? I ordered a toilet from Home Depot and had it installed by TCC through Home Depot. The toilet was delivered early so TCC scheduled the installation earlier than planned which was convenient. Upon leaving, the technician said that I could follow-up with them if there was a problem with the toilet. At that time, I was happy with the installation and gave TCC a five star rating. However, I had noticed that when the water was filling back into the tank, after being flushed, the water loudly filled back up, in comparison to the exact same toilet I bought several years ago in another bathroom. I called TCC and asked if someone could take a look at it to see if anything needed to be adjusted. I reminded the customer service rep, that it had been installed by them on January 11th. The customer service rep was very accommodating and said that their technician would be in a neighboring town the following week and would stop by to take a look at it. When the technician arrived, he made some minor manual adjustments in the tank, but said that I would need to pay a $124 service charge because he hadn't done anything wrong with respect to the installation. I told him that I "assumed" that the appointment was free of charge since the customer service rep didn't mention that there would be a charge, and that he had indicated that I could call back if there was an issue. The technician said that he would have to talk to his manager, but thought that if I bought the membership package, they might be able to waive the $124 service charge. He went outside and "called" the manager, but when he came back in, he just reiterated that I would have to pay the $124 service charge if I didn't purchase the membership package. I felt backed into a corner to purchase the membership package at that time. Initially I felt that it would probably be better to pay the $180.00 a year membership fee, and get a free draining of my hot water heater after 12 months, and 10% off any future services. He also said being a member would waive the need to pay the $124 service charge in the future. It sounded better than paying $124 for basically nothing. After the technician left, I googled TCC's reviews. (Admittedly, I should have done that earlier, but was caught off guard in the moment.) After seeing all of the negative reviews, regarding their "HIGH PRICES, LACK OF QUALITY SERVICES AND INTEGRITY", along with already feeling that TCC was not ethical in my case, I cancelled the membership. I could not trust them with draining my hot water heater or doing any additional work. After calling to cancel the membership and explaining my reasons why, they promptly cancelled my membership and charged me the $124.00. BEWARE: They care more about their membership program than customer service. Even with the membership program which gives you a 10% discount and service fee waiver, their prices are high so that when you think you're "winning", you're losing again. read more

TCC is as good as it gets. After several issues with our GC and the plumber he used, I insisted that we use ours to fix everything that was messed up and/or flat-out wrong in our house. He agreed and I immediately called TCC. First, Joe is the BEST when it comes to boilers and plumbing issues. He is extremely knowledgable and very patient when someone like myself, who knows absolutely nothing about boilers, ask a LOT of dumb questions. He fixed an issue that we've been having since we moved into the house last summer - one that our GC's plumber has been to the house on three different occasions to fix and only made worse. I've recommended TCC to clients who needed boiler repairs, plumbing updates and such in their homes and all have been equally as pleased. Are they cheapest around? No. But I've found that, when it comes to contractors, you get what you pay for and if paying a little more means I'll have good service and it'll be done right the first time, then I'll pay it every time. This company bungled everything from start to finish including, but not limited to: 1. the person who came to provide the estimate not noticing that we had a solar component to our water system 2. promising "no more than 2 weeks" for a turnaround but taking 6 weeks 3. calling the morning of install to say the part was damaged and they needed to-reorder 4. sending the installers for attempt #2 only to realize they had the wrong tank. 5. Send me a new quote for a tank that was $2300 more than the first All along the way, it was incredibly difficult to get answers, they never called back in the time frame they promised and their operations person, Craig, is a complete customer service disaster. Did another quote for about twice as much. Finally have to say enough is enough get my deposit back and walk away. Was refered to them through home depot. Purchased a garbage disposal and paid for installation through home depot. This company game out to do the install. When trying to install the disposal, technician severed the hose to our dishwasher and claimed he couldn't fix it. When we tried contacting the company he works for, this company, he immediately packed up and left. Now we have to shell out over 300 more dollars to have another plumber come out and remove our dishwasher and reinstall it with a new hose because of this technician. He seemed remorseful when he did it but took no accountability with it by calling his superiors with what he did and when we tried calling ourselves, no one answered. Home depot is stating we have to wait for them to "investigate" and won't help us in anyways for hiring this company so we are now stuck with either paying to have someone else fix the problem or have no sink due to having an exposed hole in our disposal that leaks because no dishwasher hose is hooked up to it. read more

The appointment was at 12 pm, at 11:30 I got a voice mail saying the consultant couldn't find my house.(any dingbat with a cellphone could find my house) After checking my email, there was another message received at 10:42 saying the same thing I called them back at 11:40 and they wanted to reschedule, I told them to forget it. I was pissed having just drove 23 mi from work to home so I could meet him at noon. So they blew me off for whatever reason and then lied about it as well. I wanted a Mitsubishi split mini and Total Climate Control was recommend from the Mits website. So I set up an estimate for my home. This guy from TCC comes in and measures my house. I traditionally do quite a bit of research for a project this size so I read some owners manuals, install manuals, and checked out the Mitsu website pretty extensively. Then I started asking questions and I would receive uninformed responses. "thats the installs job, dont worry about it", "Im not sure I can get back to you with that". Im fully convinced this guy knows nothing about the units he was pricing and he had never actually done any install or work. My house is good size and I had done some planning based on the Mitsu website and I knew what I wanted. One large condenser unit in the back and two heads inside. He told me the only way it would work is with 2 small condenser units, one for each head. None of that made sense to me. He checked out my electrical box and saw there was only 1 available 110breaker and the unit would need a double. I told him some of the breakers in the box were not used and we could tap into those. Also, i told him we have a sub panel in the garage with plenty of space. He told me I would need to get an electrician to come in a set up a new sub panel next to my main and they did not do that sort of work. First of all, we could have made space available, secondly, I am not contacting different contracts to get this done. He disappeared to his van to write up the proposal. When he came in he started with this big spiel about how Total Climate Control was only company that could do the job, the only company I could trust and then he started badmouthing other contractors that I should "stay away from". He gave me the proposal for $10,800 and that didn't include any electrical work. I told him I would think about it (but I had already made my decision). He put the pressure on pretty thick. I almost had to laugh when he started using cheesy tactics like a shady used car salesman would use. At that point I told him I was not interested and he told me I needed to sign the contract so he could show his boss that he gave the price quote to us. He said it is required paperwork. I told him "that says work order on it. There all these terms and conditions that bind me to this contract if I sign it". He told me the contract means nothing until they receive a deposit, he would just hold it so the price would not go up for if I decided to get the work done. I told him I was not signing anything and he got all huffy with me. I actually asked him to leave. I can't believe I had so much patience at that point. He left and then I started getting calls about how there was a discount I could qualify for and rebates that would bring my price down. I ignored those calls and get a local contractor to install my ac/heat pumps. He charged me $8,000 and that included the electrical work. When he planned the system he calculated 1 condenser unit and two heads, just like I had calculated. anyway, I have been using the Mitsu unit for over a year and I have been so happy with it. Great climate inside my home and the heat pump saves me so, so much during the winter. I am glad I got the units and I am very glad I did not go with TCC. read more

This company installed my heating system. When the job was finished they didn't clean up after themselves. They left PVC pipe shavings all over my floor and they left electrical connections exposed. They had to return almost immediately because the PVC pipe shavings had been drawn into the furnace and needed cleaned out. I was never called back. 12 Dec 16 - Receive call, told appt (made 47 days ago!) needs to be rescheduled. Earliest appt, 30 Dec 16, another 18 days from now! Last winter I was faced with a serious situation that scares the hell out of any landlord. For some unknown reason the Carbon Monoxide detectors went off during one of the nights of the winter. As I learned one of my boilers failed and in doing so overheated my tin exhaust chimney causing it to split at the seam allowing Carbon Monoxide to enter my building. After evacuating my tenants with the assistance of the Fire Department I was faced with the problem of what to do next. I called Total Climate Control. Within 45 minutes a heating technician arrived at my building and assessed the damage and formulated a plan to immediately repair the problem and restore my boiler to working order. The repair was done efficiently and very promptly which was very important, considering it was below zero outside. I a time of extreme need, TCC was there for me. The price was $99.00 each. I thought that was a fear price. Well now the problem. I got a call in November the day that they were going to be there. I was told that there tech had the flu and they would have to reschedule, I thought it would be a day or so. Turns out it was going to be in January 25, 2019. Came back put in new box and heater St did not work. Said we needed addl $700 to fix. We are on SS and said we would call when we had money for repair. The estimate happened on time, the quote was professional and aggressive, the install date happened on time, team doing work was amazing, and my family and I are thrilled with the results. I have already recommended TCC to others in my extended family and a neighbor. The sales engineer who did the estimate recommended money-saving tactics for the install, which was a surprise. I wouldn't even give one star if that were an option. I booked an annual furnace cleaning before the busy time for this (September). However, they have cancelled twice including after we waited for them this past Wednesday for over 3 hours. Each time they reschedule it's for a month or more out! At 5am this morning we woke up to the fire alarm which ended up being a result of the furnace turning on for the first time and smoke filling the basement. About two years ago, we returned from spending our February vacation with family members to find that our burner had died. It was bitterly cold, in the double digit negatives, even during the day. Our pipes were frozen, despite our having left them dripping. We were desperate and followed the advice of a friend to call Total Climate Control. We support local companies whenever we can, so we gave them a call. It took about two days and about ten thousand dollars to install our brand new furnace, which would also heat our hot water. When we asked about less expensive models, we were informed that there were none...this was the only model their company installed because it is the best one on the market and just so reliable. It would be so much more efficient, we were assured. And it was. Last year we had someone come out and clean it, but other than that it was perfect. It heated our old drafty farmhouse so much faster than our Baxi and saved us money on our heating bill. This year started out the same way. Until this past week. On Monday night it felt a little chilly in our house. We turned up the heat. On Tuesday morning it was definitely cold. The heat was set at 67, but it was 60. Before I left for work, I went down to check on the furnace. It had a lockout message: ignition failed. And some error messages. I took pictures to write down the codes, pressed okay and cleared the messages. The furnace went through its cycle and started up. I left my wife and my son at home (snow day) and went to work, but first I wrote down the error codes and the phone number for the company. My wife called in during the day, explained what had happened, and was told we probably just needed to have the furnace cleaned. We set a cleaning up for February 1st; obviously the issue with the furnace was nothing magor. That afternoon the heater shut off again, but I cleared the error codes and it came back on. We called again on Tuesday night and left a message explaining the problem again and that it hadn't gone away. We went to bed, secure in our knowledge that Total Climate Control takes care of the problem in "Hours, not Days". Wednesday morning it was cold in the house. The company called us back around 9 that morning and said they would put us on the call list. We explained we were leaving for Thanksgiving that night and were told they would try. Nobody called that morning, but we were cooking for Thanksgiving and it was okay in the kitchen. The heater kept trying to turn on, and I kept checking on it. I cleared the same messages and the heater would work for a bit, then stop. Wednesday night came and we left. Friday night around seven we returned home. It was 38 degrees in our house. There was a message on our machine from Total Climate Control; they had called earlier in the day, at 2:30. We called back as soon as we got in. It took FOUR calls before we were able to leave a message. They called back and said that the earliest someone would be able to come service our two-year-old-not-even-paid-off-yet-ten-thousand-dollar furnace is tomorrow between noon and three. I cleared the messages on the furnace yet again and we can hear the heater trying to start, but failing to ignite. Soon it will have the lockout message again. I can see my breath in my house. Oh Boy! Stay very far away from this company!! I saw a woman on the side of the highway this morning holding a huge sign that said this company botched her heating system and she has not had heat for 4 YEARS and the problem is still not resolved!!!! Sounds like the experience I had with this horrible company. Do yourself a favor and don't even think about hiring this company! You will most definitely regret it!! read more

Had my first annual servicing/ maintenance for Mitsubishi split A/C system. The technician for TCC was courteous and answered all my questions. He performed his maintenance of the system in a timely and professional manner. He also showed up in the scheduled time slot. read more

Sorry to see such negative reviews here! We have lived in Concord for a few years and have Total come out each year to check on our system and perform basic maintenance. They have been courteous, professional, timely, and very pleasant to deal with each time. I have nothing negative to report about them. read more
