Their trucks are a ubiquitous presence in the neighborhoods and highways. We've been dealing with Rymes since we bought our home three years ago. We're highly satisfied with their service both propane and also customer orientation. The automatic delivery system frees us from having to constantly check on our propane - even though I am cognizant of the level just because I'm obsessed with preparedness and I start calling when the level goes below 40% (the same propane tank powers the standby whole-house generator so a good supply is necessary). I gather they've got used to my consternation and the tank seldom goes below 50% before I have a tanker pulling to the house. Rymes offers convenient payment plans, whether market rate, fixed rate, graduated, etc. Some are clear winners if the price remains stable or decreases, some grant peace of mind against fluctuating prices during the Winter. Something for everyone. We most recently purchased a new water heater as replacement for our old one. Dealing with Jeff in the pricing, purchase and installation has been a pleasure. Wholeheartedly recommended.

We are NYer's for now, but are going to be spending 1/2 of our time in the home we purchased last week in Wolfeboro. Today is Tuesday and we moved in Friday. This home has a very complex mixed system (radiant and baseboard) with 5 zones, old parts cobbled together by the builder, etc. It is a potential nightmare. First, I called the office and spoke with Jody and set up an account. She was awesome and helpful. I explained to her that I was concerned about the heating system and needed some help understanding it. She said "you need Troy, I spoke with him and he knows that system". Today, I meet Troy Glidden. He had called me a few times and he said he'd be able to stop by and walk me through things. So Troy just left, and what a top notch guy. He spent 30-45 minutes walking me through things, and I have a feeling that since the system is going to need some attention - that we are going to get to know each other well. He is a thoughtful, nice guy and he knows his stuff. He's going to be back to do a tune up and we will be addressing some issues with things here as we go. Troy is very impressive. Oh, and for today, no charge...he came out because I was a new customer and he knows the system. That doesn't happen in New York.

This past weekend our propane tank decided to release pressure and it was a scary situation. Justin came right out and assessed the situation and explained what was happening, and assured us that we were not in any danger, thank goodness! He ended up taking the tank (by himself!), took pictures of the damage, and was back the next day with another tank. He definitely is an exemplary employee and deserves a 10 star rating!! All in all, Eastern is an excellent company.

Then in July the association got an offer of 1.94 on a prebuy from Eastern. Since I had not signed the original contract they honored the price, but were really vague about how the credit would be applied and refused to mail me a check for the difference. If Mr Clement and Eastern need my $102 that bad u feel sorry for them. BUT IT GETS BETTER..,actually worse. Dead River approaches the association and offers 1.79 a gallon. This is a warning to read the prebuy contract(who does really)with Eastern. In a rude way I was told you're locked in...nothing we can do. Plus "we don't know how Dead River is doing it. Really. Either Dead River is a much smarter more efficient company, or Eastern essentially said too bad dummy. Great way to build a customer base. BUT WAIT I said that I wasn't feeling very warm and fuzzy with Eastern so I asked what happens if there is a balance at the end of the season. Now bare in mind I had already told the girl I would no longer be a customer next year. She said we will apply it to next year, but if I insisted they charge a .50 per gallon fee. So something I paid for gets docked for what? Greed I guess. So stay away from Eastern, cash...not the customer...is king.

Because it's a seasonal property, we use very little propane (maybe 100 gallons a year) but Eastern was able to combine the accounts to give us the same pricing from our main residence (1000+ gallons). They assigned John Flannery as our sales guy, he quickly went out to the property to check it out. Then we made an appt for them to deliver the tank and check out the appliances. Their tech (don't have his name, sorry) did a very professional looking install of the tank and even cleaned out our gas fireplace stove to get it lit. He had to install the tank in a different spot because the existing Amerigas tank was too close to the vent for my on-demand hot water heater. Amerigas never ever mentioned that and always filled up the tank despite it being against code. Not the kind of company I want! I would definitely recommend Eastern Propane!

One for our home and one for our generator. A couple days later they filled the tank. They informed us that they would not be able to make connections to the house or generator until November 13 as they had a full schedule. Today November 13. They show up and hook the propane to the house but did not connect the generator. I called the office to find out what was happening as they knew that they ran 2 lines. The office informs me that they needed to get a couple parts and the soonest they could return was mid January. Needless to say. We will be getting a new propane company that is competent I don't recommend Dead River to anyone that has to deal with the Bristol NH office.
