I left a VM message and got a call back way later (close to closing time of the store). I was looking for a "close ended orthopedic boot for my injury and they didn't carry it inside the store. They carried the "close toe" boot. Lastly, Their prices are high (mark up) since they didn't carry the close toe boot I had to order on Amazon. Amazon was okay but I had to wait 4 days for shipment. For this reason I wanted to buy an orthopedic boot immediately. The prices as i mentioned at this store in Walnut Creek are high. I got what I needed from Amazon and paid 2 times less than what I would have paid if the store would have had the close toe boot. I understand that the store could be a "small business" and I am all For supporting small businesses BUT at the same time not having to pay triple the amount for a product that I or anyone else can get for a cheaper price without compromising the quality of the product.

Thankfully Diablo Medical Supply had some and saved the day! I called in the morning to inquire if they had some in stock and I was told yes. I went in around noon and was out in under 5 minutes. I appreciated that Nathan was super helpful in answering my questions and he was wearing a mask. There was also hand sanitizer there for me to use. I will come back to purchase masks as there were plenty of N95 and KN95 masks for sale. I will say that their hours on Yelp don't reflect what I believe are their current hours. They close today at 5 PM and their Google hours show a different time. My suggestion for this businesses would be to update their hours. In the meantime I'd suggest calling before going.

Their website feels sketchy to say the least: buttons that are supposed to go to view bills have DNS issues or lead to "not secure" pages. Trying to pay them is virtually impossible. There is no way for you to make an online payment-- they want you to enter your mobile number so they can send you a link-- but the link comes from a source that seems unconnected. Then they want you to input all your info...I don't feel that my data & payment info is safe. It's almost easier to let your bill go to collections...Almost. This happened on my last bill, but because I can't verify the amounts, I'm stuck right now, and have asked for a debt validation letter before I pay them. I've tried calling them-- no one picks up. I'm attempting to email them again. We'll see what comes back, if anything. I hate that this is the company my Dr's office/insurance is making me work with. They are impossible.

This is the worst of Quipt's unscrupulous behavior - I'm new to Medicare & so needed to get set up with CPAP equipment deliveries. Major runaround to learn exactly what would be needed. Very shady. Spoke to the Intake Manager, Karen, who just interrupted me & talked over me till she hung up on me - after criticizing & insulting me. Stunning behavior. They like to hang up on you if you ask a simple question like what exactly do you need for the order? Or why are you stating that this is a Medicare requirement when it isn't? They state that Medicare requires this new sleep study in a case like mine, which is not true. I asked Medicare 3 times, each time learning that, no, they don't require that, & even had a 3-way call w/them & Medicare in which I asked Quipt directly why they were saying it's a Medicare regulation to get a new sleep study when it isn't? He couldn't answer that, started yelling at me (they do that a lot in response to questions) & hung up on us. Something's definitely shady at that place! I'm thrilled to have discovered Ron Andrews Medical Company, a local, family-owned company who will provide my supplies w/out needing a new sleep study. They didn't even yell at me or hang up on me, either! Ron Andrews Co is getting a marketing boost from me encouraging my doctor to tell his patients about them. And Quipt is getting these 1-star reviews plus my Better Business Bureau complaint. Karma!

They routinely screw up basic orders, and when equipment finally arrives, it's often old, worn out, or literally falling apart. The billing department is even worse; I constantly receive "mystery bills" that lack any itemized breakdown of what I am actually being charged for. Trying to get a straight answer from customer service is impossible, as you are passed from one agent to another with no resolution. Their lack of transparency and total disregard for patient safety is predatory. Save yourself the stress and find a different DME supplier that actually respects its customers.

They routinely screw up orders, send bills with no information about what I'm being asked to pay for, and send old and falling apart equipment (a hospital bed that they didn't include an overall height adjustment crank with.) One time, they overcharged me and kept my money as a "credit balance" and NEVER TOLD ME, until I notice while looking at my account. They sent me co-pay bills that do not tell me what the co-pay is for. Today they sent me a link to a "signed document" to download for my records. The link didn't work (telling me that I'd entered MY last name, MY date of birth and MY zip code incorrectly. Then their "customer service" representative yelled at me because I couldn't use the link correctly. She then put me in some billing call queue when I tried to get her to understand that I KNOW HOW TO USE A FREAKING LINK! Kaiser is ending their relationship with them on March 1, and I've asked my Kaiser providers (physical therapist, for one) to cancel any orders that have been placed for me with Apria and wait until the switch over to reorder equipment that I really could use SOONER. But I will NOT deal with them any longer. They are ridiculous and don't seem to give a ^%$#@ that they are a lousy company. DO NOT USE APRIA FOR YOUR NEEDS IF YOU CAN HELP IT AND IF YOU HAVE NO CHOICE, I'M SORRY FOR WHAT YOU'LL GO THROUGH WITH THEM.

The owner of the company, Craig Coogan, came to my apartment late and smelled strongly of alcohol. He was visibly under the influence. My caregiver was going to be off her shift, and I let him know. He aggressively insisted that she put me in the sling, because I weigh 130lbs and that should not have happened. I told him that my next caregiver was on her way to my apartment. He insisted that I should get in my hoyer lift again. While we were waiting for my next caregiver to arrive, he stated that he works with everyone in the Bay Area for Lift and Transfer and has been doing this for 28 years, and then said for 25 years a few minutes later. My next caregiver came in, and I was put in the hoyer lift and raised up as high as I could go. There was nothing underneath me, and my caregiver stated that she wanted me to be in my wheelchair while we discussed options. Craig declined, said I was safe, grabbed the sling, pulled it hard, and shook it back and forth. As a reminder, I had fallen out of the sling because one of the straps came off the hook. He then put his hand on my upper leg close to my vulva and my shoulder without asking for consent. He left it there for roughly 3 minutes. As a disabled woman who cannot physically defend herself, this caused alarm because there was no reason to touch me. Also, because he seemed drunk, I couldn't predict what he was going to do. He would ask my caregiver to adjust the sling and then proceed to do it himself in a rough manner without asking for my consent. He was aggressive when telling my caregiver she was doing it wrong when she stated that she did manual transfers. She stated that we preferred it that way with her, because she can pick me up. If he had come at his scheduled time, then my previous caregiver, who uses the hoyer lift would be able to show him how she uses it. He would not offer different solutions for how my caregiver could transfer me. It got to a point where they got into a verbal argument, and I had to raise my voice at him to tell him that he is not here to discuss this. I was then put back in my wheelchair. My caregiver stated she has another client with a different hoyer lift that might be a better solution. He kept pushing her to tell her who it was because he had been working with everyone for 25 years. She was hesitant to tell him because she did not want to violate client privacy, and then he stated again that he had been working in this company for 28 years. After that, he gave her his card so she could send him a picture of the hoyer lift. Afterwards, he was drawing a map of my room to demonstrate other options for hoyer lifts while my caregiver was doing work around my room. He would not move out of the way when she politely asked him to move multiple times to where she had to squeeze behind him and brush against his body. He would not acknowledge her. When he drew his map of my room, it did not make sense of what he wanted to do. He had this idea of putting the hoyer lift in the ceiling, which I stated I was not comfortable with. He gaslit me by telling me that it was fine and I had to tell him that my ceiling would not be able to hold a hoyer lift with the poorly designed ceiling in my apartment. He then continued by suggesting putting me in a hoyer lift that could put me further down in my bed. When I told him that I would not want that, he then suggested putting me in a hoyer lift where I could park my wheelchair in the hallway. This did not make sense because my staff would not be able to safely get me out of my chair or bypass my wheelchair to get me to the bathroom on my commode chair. His next suggestion was to park my wheelchair facing the wall. This would not make sense because my caregivers would not be able to put the straps from the sling on the hooks safely. I stated that it wouldn't feel safe doing it. He then suggested, again, placing the hoyer lift in the ceiling and parking my wheelchair in the hallway. It had become more obvious that he could not think logically due to being under the influence. Afterwards, I walked him out of my room, where my caregiver was cleaning dishes. He kept talking to her about how she should not be manually lifting me and mumbling that it wasn't safe for her back. He then tried to give her his card again. At this point, I understood that he would not leave without me forcing him to leave. I had to walk him out of my apartment building to make sure that he was out of the building. I did not feel safe until I knew he was out of the building. Not only was I concerned for my safety, but I am still concerned for the clients that he continues to work with.
