Ever since Quipt/Great Elm took over, working with this company has been a NIGHTMARE. I wish I could select less than 1 star. Their website feels sketchy to say the least: buttons that are supposed to go to view bills have DNS issues or lead to "not secure" pages. Trying to pay them is virtually impossible. There is no way for you to make an online payment-- they want you to enter your mobile number so they can send you a link-- but the link comes from a source that seems unconnected. Then they want you to input all your info...I don't feel that my data & payment info is safe. It's almost easier to let your bill go to collections...Almost. This happened on my last bill, but because I can't verify the amounts, I'm stuck right now, and have asked for a debt validation letter before I pay them. I've tried calling them-- no one picks up. I'm attempting to email them again. We'll see what comes back, if anything. I hate that this is the company my Dr's office/insurance is making me work with. They are impossible. read more

Oxygen Plus - I don't feel safe doing business with a company who's website's payment portal/bill pay leads to THIS - Medical Supplies Near Me - Walnut Creek, California

A 1-star review for Oxygen Plus is too high, but alas. Echoing an earlier review, Oxygen Plus was fine 5 years ago, but then they were acquired by Quipt Home Medical, a simply evil company. This is the worst of Quipt's unscrupulous behavior - I'm new to Medicare & so needed to get set up with CPAP equipment deliveries. Major runaround to learn exactly what would be needed. Very shady. Spoke to the Intake Manager, Karen, who just interrupted me & talked over me till she hung up on me - after criticizing & insulting me. Stunning behavior. They like to hang up on you if you ask a simple question like what exactly do you need for the order? Or why are you stating that this is a Medicare requirement when it isn't? They state that Medicare requires this new sleep study in a case like mine, which is not true. I asked Medicare 3 times, each time learning that, no, they don't require that, & even had a 3-way call w/them & Medicare in which I asked Quipt directly why they were saying it's a Medicare regulation to get a new sleep study when it isn't? He couldn't answer that, started yelling at me (they do that a lot in response to questions) & hung up on us. Something's definitely shady at that place! I'm thrilled to have discovered Ron Andrews Medical Company, a local, family-owned company who will provide my supplies w/out needing a new sleep study. They didn't even yell at me or hang up on me, either! Ron Andrews Co is getting a marketing boost from me encouraging my doctor to tell his patients about them. And Quipt is getting these 1-star reviews plus my Better Business Bureau complaint. Karma! read more

Absolute trash. No idea how these people are employed and still in business Oxygen plus wasnt bad but when they were aquired by Quipt Home Medical everything went to crap. First, you read about no one picking up the phones, that has been true since it was oxygen plus. Second, when QUIPT took over, they refused to let me come in and pick up my supplies. They said they have a department who handles refill orders and it will be shipped to me. I explained i live in apartment and things have been stolen lately and they didnt care. Trust me when i say when gas is this expensive i really would prefer not driving to them but i also dont want my supplies stolen either Third, they suddenly demanded a new prescription when mine was only 2 years old. This was a nightmare. My doctor's office emailed them half a dozen times over two or three days and they kept claiming they never recevied any of the emails. Lastly, my dreamstation was recalled. They keep pointing the finger at philips saying philips will ship the replacement to the customers. When i call philips, they say it it will go to my oxygen supplier who (unfortunately) is now Quipt. These people are absolutely incompetent, irresponsible, rude, and lazy beyond repair. read more

When I started CPAP therapy, I found the group to be very helpful. Sometime after that they were apparently bought out. Since then, I can get no one on the phone when I call and no one responds to my email. But they seem to be able to call me to set up my resupply. So far I have never once received my resupply. I would think that since I talked to someone to order my resupply and confirmed what I was to get, that I would actually receive it. I did not receive a confirmation of the phone order or get any documentation. The website is useless in finding any information about anything. There is no where to see that you talked to anyone or that an order has been placed. Interestingly, they are very communicative when they think you owe them money. I have had to buy my resupply online, out of pocket. I highly recommend that you do not use this service, because you will not get any. read more

i had bad experiences with billing... got 3 rejections on getting CPAP machine covered.. and then one time was billed $240 for a mask AFTER I opened it and brought it home.. because after the fact they said it wasn't covered.. and it was in a "do not sell" type manufactueres sample package.. i called the company in southern california, and they said my company up in walnut creek was not supposed to sell samples.. so finally they let me off the hook when I returned their sample. In the meantime I discovered a wonderful provider across the Bay (worth the commute).. who very quickly set me up with testing, materials etc. I have been with them ever since. Part of the job of a medical supply company is to properly bill and make a real effort so the patient isnt told down the road they owe them money.. ESPECIALLY when in fact the patient was covered. read more

Avoid Oxygen Plus at all costs. They were bought out in 2021 by a company that outsourced supply reorders, billing, etc. to completely different entities. One hand has no idea what the other is doing. The customer service team in Walnut Creek almost never answers the phone, never returns voicemails and has no idea how to handle any issues (or even communicate with the outsourced companies). In my experience, Oxygen Plus is the most difficult healthcare company I have ever done business with. read more

So many issues with this company from day one. The only good thing about this company was Eileen. Everything from help or inquiries over the phone to billing questions were either rushed by a rep or the call would go to voicemail. I went in to the office in July- made my appointment (and was NEVER told I would be billed to come in the office)since my machine didn't seem to work right, Eileen was not in the office even though I set my appointment up with her. Met with another lady who went over everything for a half hour and ended up telling me all about her life. Good times. No problem found in the machine which I still feel isn't working correctly. She recommended a new tube. Had a bill of $7.70 at the time of visit. Received EOB from my insurance stating I was charged an hourly rate but being billed under repair. I told the rep at oxygen plus NO ONE ever informed me I would be billed and had the women not talked about her life story I'm sure I would have been out of there in less then 15 minutes. The rep said "your insurance paid 80% of it" Uhm 80 percent of a charge that should have never been billed, I'm calling Blue Cross to let them know how they billed this. read more

Fabulous service! Unlike the Apria chuckleheads who seem to make every effort to be HORRIBLE! The Oxygen Plus team is fantastic!!!! Late Friday afternoon of a holiday weekend I rushed over after consulting with my Dr about some changes we decided to make. It took me longer than expected to drive over and when I got there the door was locked and the staff was vacuuming and cleaning up the office. Well, they saw me outside and before I even knocked they opened the door, let me in and the three young women helped me figure out my new insurance, select replacement parts and nail dowwn my next steps. Again, this was Friday after closing time on a holiday weekend. Excellent job Oxygen Plus!!! read more

This place is just awful. Actually sucks. I was being over billed for services provided by their billing service. I kept trying to correct the problem with their front desk to no avail. Then their billing service threatened to place me into collections even though my account was current. I had to go into the Oxygen Plus office three times to get the problem fixed. On the third visit I had to be a prick to be taken seriously. Otherwise, their attitude was we'll try to fix it. No, you will fix it now, today. Really dense staff who can't get things right. A few years ago, I also had problems with getting my supplies delivered. I had to be a prick then too before they paid attention. Customer service is non existent at this place. Suggest try another place. read more

Update: They finally returned my call, more than two months after I had made multiple attempts to get in touch and left messages for them. I figured they had gone out of business and I moved on to another provider that promptly returned my call. read more

Have you noticed that all the positive reviews are 2 years old? That's because they used to be a great company than they got sold and everything changed. Not only do they not answer the phone or return calls to customers, but Phillips couldn't even get the information it needed from them so they could send my replacement CPAP machine. I used to use them but no more, I now buy my supplies from Snore Solutions. Local company and great service. read more

Ordering supplies with Oxygen Plus is a NIGHTMARE! I'm so frustrated as I can never depend on receiving what I actually ordered. The supplies sent to me are not the Philips brand. They are sending after market supplies (cheap, lower grade trash) and charging customers the the price of the original Philips equipment This after market equpment affects the readings and causes sleepless nights and consistant breathing problems because the quality is not up the quality of the Philips supplies that was tested and compatable with the dreamstation equipment. I have never received exactly what I ordered. I would not be surprised if there is a class action lawsuit against them in the near future for bait and switch tactics. Our insurance is being charged for original Philips supplies but we are given after market supplies you can purchase online for a few dollars. I would not have purchased a $5,000 and promised original equipment if I had known they would have been dishonest after being paid in full. I have also found the white hoses are defective as they leak after one or two times of usage. I have reported this to them and it was brushed off. This will now be reported to the FDA. This seems to me to be a serious SAFETY issue as the whole point of using this machine is to help prevent bresthing and sleep issues during the night and yet the biggest issue is the defective tubing. The heated tubing seems to be more reliable and does not seem to be an issue, however when I now order the heated tubing they send the white tubing (in place if the heated tubing) in a bag marked heated tubing which it is not! Another issue is the shipping method they use. The supply company uses the slowest (cheapest) form of delivery for this life threatening equipment. I'm sure I could receive it in a more timely manner if they shipped it by rickshaw! Honestly, it could take several weeks to receive the supplies. They will provide you with a fed X tracking number and delivery date but Fed X will not honor that date so you will not be able to track an exact date of delivery from fed X once is has left Oxygen plus. As a few reviewers mentioned Oxygen plus is helpful when you're there to purchase the $5,000 equipment however you're on your own, left out on a limb for anything else. This is unacceptable to treat patients with crucial medical concerns in this manner. I would not recommend this company to anyone...ever. read more

I have had a series of unfortunate events with this group, but through the entirety I was met with great customer service. They've been able to find a way to work out every kink and issue. I'm grateful for the young ladies who work here. Oh and Tim, extremely knowledgeable, patient, and helpful. read more

Another Nightmare in ordering supplies from Oxygen Plus. I called at the state of the week & ordered new supplies. I made it very clear to them that my machine was changed because of the recall. They emailed me with a preorder, with half the order incorrect. They said they would correct it and call the Doctors for a new prescription. One week later, no supplies and no order. Called them back and either the prescription was never sent or the Doctors office didn't reply back. No stars on this one. Actually, If i could give them a Zero, I would. Better Luck next time??? read more

Very pleased w/ recent visit w/ Tim. He is very helpful, very knowledgeable, not in a hurry, explained things nicely, courteous, returned call promptly when I had a question about my new CPAP machine. All good. I expect this will continue to be the case. I had used Oxygen Plus years ago when I got my first CPAP machine and they were very good at that time as well. I look at the YELP reviews and I am perplexed as to the fact that there are many 5 stars and many one stars; not so much in between. How can that be? I think that sometimes problems encountered can be a function of customers' behavior as well and how they interact and address staff. Not always the company that is at fault. I have found that a smile, nice greeting when you approach counter, and speaking politely goes a loooooong way to establishing a good working relationship to the benefit of all parties involved. read more

Terrible service . They never answer the phone ... really hard to get your supplies if they are out ....

No one answers the telephone when you call. I ordered filters and was told there was a charge to ship them. Every day I drive two blocks from their store/office so I went in and picked up the order. I intend to switch back to Apria. read more

Worked with my insurance and Oxygen Plus before I got my CPAP machine a year ago to make sure coverage and payment is well understood across all parties. My insurance made a mistake and instead of informing me of it Oxygen Plus just billed me. To cut a long story short it took over a year before Oxygen Plus agreed to refund my overpayment and throughout the entire process communications from Oxygen Plus was lacking (never returned my emails and calls). Their nurses seemed nice when I visited to get my CPAP fitted but I won't suggest going to them on account of the poor customer service and accounting person. read more

Had an appointment set for 4pm, but finished school early so I came in at 2pm to see if they could squeeze me in by any chance.. They helped the other two that were there before me, then squeezed me in. The man that explained the CPAP machine to me was very thorough and kept reminding me that it was all in the manual. I felt overwhelmed. Like, a cheat sheet would have been nice to have.. especially with the recommended replacement dates for all the parts. I got to try the CPAP prior to leaving, and get fitted.. and it was admittedly weird. But I also learned I can bring my machine on planes and not count it towards my carry on! I do recommend this company. They are easy to contact and communicate with. read more

Tim (Service Technician) was excellent in fitting me with the mask and explaining how to operate the CPAP machine. He was very patient in answering my many questions. At no time did I feel rushed. Someone local! Yeah! It's great to see a local CPAP supply store that we can walk into and not deal with some schmoe in Timbuktu! I found these guys on our insurance website as an in network provider and called them pronto. "Ashley" answered the phone and I found out they had all we needed in stock. Once they get the prescription, she'll call us back. I gave Ashely our insurance coverage info. and told her the percentage we pay and she instantly said, your portion will be....$. I know she's right, based on orders from other vendors in the past. We're sick and tired of playing games with other DMEs. While we've never done business with O.P. before, I can tell they'll come through, simply by the way Ashely handled the phone call. Our doc's office just called to verify that we will be using O.P. for our supplies. They had recommended CPAP Services out of San Jose, but they were playing "Let's Make a Deal" and since we know there is a contracted rate with our insurance company for these supplies, we weren't up to their game... The doc's office told my wife they've used O.P. in the past and have had problems. Perhaps that is true...no one is perfect. But, the ratings overall, tell us that O.P. is a good bet, so we'll see. If I come back to update, then I'll let you know, what went wrong and why. But, I don't think that'll be necessary this time. We will see... Life's too short for games when doing business. As Larry the Cable Guy says, "Get er' done!" Thanks, Larry...I a JULY 5: FYI, I tried ordering CPAP supplies for myself last week, but since I no longer have private insurance and I'm now on Medicare, OP does not have authority to sell to me, as all govt. contracts are assigned and not open to patient choices. This is a MC policy, not one of OP's. OP takes privately insured patients and MC patients based on zip code and street address, assigned by MC. OP has sent us a bill for my spouse, which looks inflated, as if insurance didn't pay their portion, but an email from them told me it's correct. So I will call them for a clear explanation. Hopefully, the 5 stars will remain, because of a misunderstanding from my email and an F 'up from BCBS, which is highly likely... stay tuned. read more

By far the worst experience I've had dealing with a medical device company. Go find someone else. They jerk you around. I came in to buy a couple accessories for my CPAP. When I paid, they said it was out of network and my payment was needed. It was a small amount, so OK. The hose was wrong so I had to bring it back to exchange, the one I exchanged was wrong as too small of tubing. Then I get another invoice for about $95. I go to talk to them and they said I could not return the second hose but could exchange if I paid the $95 invoice, that I originally was led to believe was already paid. I will never, ever, ever use this company again read more

Tried to get a response but called several times and after leaving a message received no response. Finally talked to someone who had no access to files so was told I would receive a response later in the day. Nothing. Will go elsewhere. read more

I was very happy with this company last year but this year it has fallen apart. They suddenly started charging me for things that were free last year. It may have something to do with insurance change but they never told me this would be the case and I spoke with them end of last year and also in January. But the biggest issue at this time is I was told last month my last bill would be $16.57 and I would own the cpap. Well, I never wanted to buy it. That said, then they presented me with another $78 bill so my total was suddenly $94.57. I don't appreciate not being told this up front and also that the payment is not broken up into more reasonable amounts. I would say do not use this company unless you get things in writing up front and they make things very clear. They have been surprising me with bills I did not expect. Also, do not agree to auto pay or they will just take it from you. read more

Not totally horrible, but I would go elsewhere! My first experience with this company was for an equipment consultation. The site is clean, the parking is free and readily available. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. All in all, a good experience in that area. BUT .... things take a nasty turn with billing. WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER! They billed my insurance company erroneously so my entire annual benefits were used for something I didn't receive. Since there were benefit errors, I had to pay out of pocket until Oxygen+ corrected the problem which took about 9 months. Then after the ins error was finally corrected (it was like pulling teeth btw), they preceded to bill me for shipments I did not receive, random charges showed up on my Amex statement, but Oxygen+ had no record of charging my account! I had to bring in my Amex bill to show them, they were in fact charging my card for random amounts which did not reconcile with any invoice. That took another 4 months of calling to get a credit back to my card for 2 out of 3 random charges. I am still waiting for the 3rd credit. If you look at the reviews on this company, you will see that I am not the only person with this type of problem. I gave them one star for the service at that's it. My advise, avoid this company. It will save you months of accounting aggravations which I don't believe anyone has the time to revisit over and over ad nauseum. Next! read more

I called about a problem with my CPAP machine and was amazed when Tim, the Respiratory Therapist, invited me to drop by the same day to get help, at a time that was most convenient to me! I was recommended by my doctor to Oxygen Plus (OP) over a year ago. They were very helpful with my CPAP and accessories at the time. Last week I received even more so I called them this afternoon to change my account to only ship when I call to order them. At that time I asked to return the 6 nasal pillows that were sent. The cost of each is $60, and my cost after insurance is $27 each. What I was shocked by was their refusal to take them back. They are each individually wrapped/sealed.
