1864 Tavern is a great spot for delicious cocktails for intimate gatherings or larger groups. Most…read morerecently, I visited with a group of 10 for a birthday celebration. We arrived around 5:30 PM on a Saturday. The joint was nearly empty aside from a couple at the bar. Plenty of seating for our large group in the large, comfy couches. They also have cool built-in seating around the perimeter of the bar, though not nearly as comfortable as the vintage furniture. The menu is sorted by glass type. A fun and unique way to sort cocktails. They also have a selection of beer on draft and wine. The drinks can also be made into mocktails- a win for our group since we had a few non-drinkers. The 1859 mocktail was great. Perfectly sweet with a small hit of miso flavor from the miso honey. Probably even better and more balanced with the whiskey! Others in my group enjoyed working their way through the many light, dark, and sour beers on tap. 1864 offers a classic, relaxed atmosphere and a great place to get a cocktail. The prices are reasonable, too. Definitely worth the visit.

You will get speakeasy vibes love all the vintage decor which transports you to the 1920s. Our mixologist was amazing and really knew what he was doing . Drinks 4/5 Service 5/5…read moreAmbiance 5/5 This is such a great little gem in a gem of a hotel. On the 7th floor, this cozy speakeasy is a lot of fun. We walked in late at around 11 pm. Two other couples were at the bar having a great time with the amazing bartender. The bartender worked and talked like she actually enjoyed her job. That's hard to find these days. Also, when the hours say until close, I believe the bartender was ready to work until we were done. We didn't feel forced to finish up at all. The drink menus are massive and I mean massive. My first drink was a "New Rum Fashioned" which was a 3/5 for me. A little too sweet and muddled. My second drink was a 5/5. I can't remember the exact name but it was a mix between a Bloody Mary and a margarita. I can wait to go back again and try some more of the wild drinks.

Speakeasy ! 7th floor of hotel in downtown Reno . Currently only open on Fridays and Saturdays…read more5pm-10pm. I checked this place out based on reviews .....so darn glad I did . I showed up solo and immediately called in some of the guys working alongside me at Hot August Nights . First off the bar is amazing , from great AC to that old school Sinatra vibe Very comfortable seating I'm talking leather swivel rocking chairs style . Some museum pieces located around the room . This is a bar to sip and chat with people . Now comes the man himself. The reason I came here based on reviews I had searched for .......not a mixologist but a dam flavorologist!!!! Drinks he created are on the menus BUT he can also work off what you like based on three or four questions . We hung out with him for hours and sampled quite a few ..........he nailed it ! I went for the whiskey trinity (3 different drinks) and each one was amazing . Choc martini to finish the night Yum He has some snacks available Crockpot meatballs (cucumber mint vodka pesto). So good This bar was so good I want to stay at the hotel for a weekend We will certainly come back every time we are in Reno just to spend time and drink with Scott ! Cheers

Let's talk about Mimosa House!…read more From beginning to end, the experience was wonderful. Ryan, our server, was fantastic. He was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and had the perfect personality for the atmosphere. Great service can truly elevate a dining experience, and Ryan did exactly that. The food was delicious. I ordered the fish and chips, and the fish was exceptional. The batter was light, crispy, and perfectly seasoned--honestly, I enjoyed it even more than traditional beer-battered fish. The fish itself was flaky and cooked just right. As for the fries, I'm personally a steak-fry enthusiast, so shoestring fries aren't usually my favorite. It would have been nice to have an option to choose between fry styles, but that's me. I also ordered a chocolate martini, which was absolutely delicious. The owner personally prepared it, and it was rich, smooth, and hit the spot . Between the cute ambiance, excellent service, and tasty food, Mimosa House made for a great dining experience. We'll definitely be back!

We were visiting family in Folsom and reservations were made for a Thursday morning. It was…read moreuncharacteristically busy, but it was during graduation season so pretty much expected. Still had to wait 30 minutes even with a reservation. The restaurant is very large and split into sections. We were seated at a tall table with tall chairs in the bar area. Not very comfortable if you plan to stay a bit and talk or enjoy your meal. The atmosphere was noisy and the more alcohol served, the louder it became. I'm not a morning drinker (don't drink at all anymore actually) but the sparkling wine and champagne menu was very impressive. Lots of choices and ways to flavor your beverage if you like it fruity. Mimosa House is the name of the place afterall and they offer about 30 different flavors. The menu is HUGE. An actual book of pages and pages of breakfast & brunch items. I must have changed my mind 100 times while trying to decide whether to have breakfast or lunch. Our waiter was nice enough and must have thought we were all OK enough for him to drop a few F-bombs while tending to our table. I wasn't offended but a few at our table commented on it. Everyone at our table chose breakfast items, from strawberry French toast to chorizo skillets. I was the odd one and had the Mimosa House Club ($22): It had the third layer of bread which no one takes time with anymore but the "house spread," a cream cheese layer they add was just not right. Lettuce, tomato, Swiss cheese, avocado, bacon, sliced turkey, & shaved ham were good on the grilled sourdough but I wouldn't order again unless the cream cheese was removed. It was served with fries but I subbed a bowl of fresh fruit. Lots of vegetarian options and even the Kid's menu was decent. Some gluten-free options too. Parking can be hard. All street with nothing directly out front and handicapped spots nearby is sparse. No stairs or steps inside or outside but it is tight and cramped inside the restaurant. They have nice patio seating and I might have chosen that if I were the one making the reservation. Overall a nice place for breakfast & drinks.
