I was fortunate enough to have a buddy treat me to a fishing trip hosted by Tyler at Lake Travis. It was a top notch service from the start. We arrived about 10 minutes early and Tyler was already there waiting in the dock ready to start our day of fishing. Did I mention that this morning was during the cold front (~36°F) and Tyler was already there waiting for us?! That is what I call customer service, and making a first impression. My buddy and I were both pretty new to this water, so Tyler gave us tips and tricks to improve our fishing experience and bettering our chances of landing a fish. He even gave us useful information that we could use on our own, whether we are going to be fishing with him or not in the future. Did I mention that he showed us some of his honey holes! If you are either a novice or even an experienced fisherman/woman you can come enjoy the day either utilizing your own equipment or even Tyler's. His boat is stocked and ready for all types of fishing environments and even has several rod setups so you may choose which one to use by your own comfort level. He helped us from rigging up our lures, netting and unhooking the fish, to even getting the lures unstuck! This would be a great way to get your significant other/boyfriend/girlfriend/or even friends introduced to fishing. This a guaranteed way to show them a good time and have Tyler show them how to fish. He will give them a hands on class and lessons while you are enjoying catching your next PB! Booked a half-day fishing trip on the 28th for my husband's birthday. Tyler suggested we go for the night tour. Great rec. It was much cooler, water was calmer, and felt like we had the lake pretty much all to ourselves. Tyler had different set-ups ready (we set out early to catch more live bait than what he already had and fished for largemouth bass and striper). We didn't have to bring anything; we just showed up with a little cooler with water, but he had that too. He was patient, especially with my daughter. Kept our hooks baited, cast for us, and spent time with my daughter showing her the ropes. He worked hard to find us fish. Took us a while, but it was cool being out on the lake shooting the breeze anyway. The hubbs and daughter caught huge Striper (while I caught a couple of bluegills for live bait. Hey, they were pretty big and feisty...for bluegill). No Striper for me, but I have a very strong feeling it had nothing to do with the setup at all ;). Pretty impressive haul, so impromptu fish dinner with the fam for my husband's birthday the next day. I can't believe this excursion was just in town and so affordable. What a great day fishing with Tyler. I had been wanting to try bass fishing on Lake Travis for a while. I saw some posts about Torwick's Guiding Service and checked out his website. His site was informative and easy to explore. Next thing I know I was booking a full day to share with my oldest son. The entire experience was awesome. His boat was state of the art. We met at Mansfield Dam Park. He was in the water ready to go. Tyler provided everything we needed. Since this was our first bass fishing experience we were looking for a teacher as well as a guide and Tyler was perfect. We were catching fish within the 1st half hour. Tyler taught us technique, tackle, habitat and even knots. We caught about 30+ (we lost count) bass and learned a ton. Spending over 8 hours on a boat seems like a long time, but Tyler was so easy going and easy to be around, I wish the day had been longer. This guy knows his bass and the lake. My 15 year old son has suddenly become interested in fishing and after a few trips with just the two of us I felt like I needed to find a guide service that would put us on a lot of good fish to help keep him interested and also teach him a lot of the tips and tricks to make him a better fisherman. Tyler was perfect for that - he taught us both about the lake, the fish and the equipment. Do you know anything about black bass eyelids? I didn't before this trip and wouldn't have thought I'd ever care but it turns out with Tyler you learn a lot of practical things about the fish that help you understand their behavior and how to catch them. Not only did we learn, but he knew exactly where the fish were and did a great job putting us on the fish, and focusing on keeping us productive and fishing. My girlfriend and I booked Tyler for our vacation in Austin. We did a half day trip. Tyler is an outstanding fisherman and guide. I had intermediate fishing skills and my girlfriend had beginner skills. He was able to work with each of us differently based on what we did and didn't know. He is extremely friendly and is happy to work with you even when you mess up. We brought in 14 total bass on the day. They varied in size but he knows exactly where they will be and exactly how to get them. His boat is top of the line and has every set up needed for fishing. If you're looking for someone who knows fishing, has all the right tools, is friendly, and will get you fish? This is the guy for you. Can not say enough great things about this trip. He knew all the best spots to fish. We caught 17 bass in total! The greatest thing about the trip though was how great Tyler was with my 8 year old daughter. This was her first time fishing on a boat and she is absolutely hooked for life! Tyler is a special individual. I've been fishing with little luck recently, including the day before I went out with him. I had the best day I've EVER had fishing when we went out. Tyler is extremely patient and had some "suggestions" to make for my technique (which I asked for). It PAID OFF! I lost count, but on a 4 hour trip I landed somewhere between 20 and 25 bass. I improved my hook-up percentage and really got the feel for light hits on finesse bait. My son (9) and I had a great time learning new techniques and catching largemouth bass with Tyler today. Tyler was great with my son, very patient, even with cold chilly winds on a cold February morning. He was able to show us several different techniques and how to interpret electronics in a very informative way for both of us to understand. I would definitely recommend Torwick's Guiding Service if you want to go fishing for some largemouth bass on Lake Travis. I booked a trip for my cousin's birthday and it was the best gift I could have given him! He had a great time and caught a lot of fish, including his new personal best. Mine and my kids experience with Torwick's Fishing Guide Service was perfection! I asked Tyler to take me on Lake Travis with the goal of targeting Striped Bass. We started the day in heavy fog and 33 degree temps, not necessarily the best of fishing conditions. Tyler's strong point is that he works with you to make you a better fisherman both by educating you on how to target and find the fish and how to improve your technique in order to catch more fish. Tyler was an awesome fishing guide. We had him as one of our guides during a bacherlor's party. The two of us on his boat were total newbies to fishing, but he was very informative and taught us how to cast our line and the different techniques we can use to attract the fish based on the bait we were using. He was very patient with us, even when I caught the bait on multiple rocks, the shore, branches, and algae. We spent 6 hours with Tyler and he really made the time fly by. My mom got me a fishing trip for my birthday and I have to say, hands down, it was the time of my life. Great 1/2 day fishing trip with Tyler Torwick! My 10 year old son, 12 year old daughter and I had a great experience on Lake Travis. We caught so many bass we couldn't keep count! Me, my wife and my 12 year old daughter chose a morning fishing trip on Lake Travis a couple weeks ago and we had an amazing morning of fishing. Tyler was ready and on time, took us to some great spots on the lake where in 4 hours we caught over 20 fish. My daughter caught 10 by herself. All fish were in the 2-5lb range. Went out with Tyler yesterday for the first time as a gift from my wife for Fathers Day.
