We went to a retirement party outside and this food truck was there. I got a burrito and my husband got a quesadilla. The staff was very nice and the menu display made it very easy to customize what we wanted. The food was hot, fresh, and tasty. I would get another entree if I saw this food truck somewhere. Tried out Tortilla at the Grandview Hop this weekend! The experience started out great because every food truck had a looooong line but Tortilla was by far clearing thei line the fastest! I ordered a Taco Bowl with rice, beans, fajitas, queso, pico de gallo, chipotle sauce, sour cream and guac. All the ingredients stood out on their own and tasted FRESH! I didn't get meat on mine, so I do wish the fajitas were cooked a little longer to retain some heat. The staff working the food truck were incredibly efficient and patient (there were a lot of indecisive people ordering before me and they got them through the line quickly and with a smile). I would recommend this to anyone, and I think they would do amazing catering! read more

We came across Tortilla at an event. They have a great selection of build-your-own options that the menu and the side of the truck walk you through. Base (such as tacos, bowls, burritos, quesadillas, and they even offer a Doritos based walking taco), Protein (multiple different types of meat, plus tofu), and Toppings (lots!), plus any sides you might want. They also have some kids meal options featuring an entree and a side. We got chicken and cheese quesadillas with black beans (they also have a choice of pinto) and rice. Had Tortilla when it was parked in front of Vic Village Tavern. The staff was so friendly and service was very quick! I picked a bowl with Mexican rice and chicken with toppings. Many different sauce and toppings available. The chicken was nicely cooked and had great flavor! Overall thought it was quite good. We tried Tortilla for the first time at the Short North Food Hall and you really can't go wrong with fresh tacos in my book. Going with our rustic laid back vibe and the fact that their menu is versatile and child friendly their truck seemed like a perfect fit for our wedding. The owner Walter was easy to work with, prices were reasonable, and they even brought amazing deserts to the salsa bar like Oreo churros which were a fun surprise that our guests were raving about! They also were very accommodating to setting up the truck in the rain under cover so the guests stayed dry. They even made personalized menus which were a really nice touch. If you are going to go the food truck route for a wedding I would highly recommend Tortilla! read more

I stopped into Land Grant for a beer last night. The weather was mild for being the end of February in Columbus, Ohio. As I was sitting outside, Tortilla's food truck started calling to me. So I decided to have dinner while I was enjoying the mild weather and my delicious Black IPA. The guys in the food truck were friendly and helpful. I ordered a bowl with chicken, cilantro rice, black beans, red onions, cilantro, lime, pico, and guacamole. With a side of medium salsa. The evening was peaceful. The music Land Grant was playing was perfect. The bowl was ok. It definitely did its job of filling me for dinner. The highlight was the medium salsa. I probably would have been happier getting a bag of chips with that delicious salsa. So if you try out Tortilla Food Truck in the future, definitely try their medium salsa. It is delcious! read more

We checked out Tortilla while at Combustion Brewery! It was pretty good! I view Tortilla as similar to a Chipotle; however, is located in a food truck and has authentic Mexican food. The servers are awesome! They're personable and super friendly! While my husband and I were waiting for our friends to arrive, we decided to grab some "snacks" from Tortilla. We grabbed the dip trio (queso, guacamole, and corn salsa). The dip trio is served with two bags of corn tortilla chips for $10. We also ordered some churros. While I asked for two churros (one for my husband and one for myself), the server assumed that I meant two orders (3-4 churros/order) of churros. So...the total for our "snacks" was $22. I really enjoyed everything except the corn salsa. The queso was thick and creamy, the guacamole was chunky and fresh, and the tortilla chips were nice and crunchy. The chips surprisingly tasted fresh several hours later too! The corn salsa was just a bunch of corn with a few pieces of red peppers/tomatoes. The churros were hot and filled with creamy filling in the inside. The churros are served with a side of caramel sauce and chocolate sauce for dipping. Both were pretty good! After a couple of hours of chatting with our friends, we decided to head back out to the truck and get some meals. We also found that you can order your food through the Street Food Finder app for easy pickup. I wanted to order a barbacoa bowl; however, the truck had run out of cilantro lime rice so I went with a barbacoa quesadilla. The quesadilla tasted fine...nothing too special. The barbacoa was really good though. I think my experience would have been better had I gotten a bowl and could have added more toppings. My husband ordered the nachos which he really thoroughly enjoyed and said was extremely filling. Our friends enjoyed their meals too. read more

We stopped at this food truck during the Columbus Food Truck Festival. I caught my sons eye, and we ended up circling back to try it. He wanted a quesadilla. What I really liked about this truck was the amount of different options you get. You can see from not only my pic, but others as well the different protein options as well as all the different toppings. Sometimes that can make it difficult, but I really enjoyed multiple different salsa options instead of the typical tomato based one. The quesadilla was cooked well and the chicken was good. Cheese was melty and stringy (which we love). Fajita veggies were good as well and those aren't always easy to get right. The portion was very good and worth the money spent. We would definitely stop by this food truck again if we came across it. Would recommend if your looking for a truck that offers many options. read more

Tortilla comes to my work about once a month and every time it is wonderful. They have tons of options from bowls, burritos, nachos, tacos, you name it they have all the Mexican treats. Every time I get the chicken bowl. They offer queso on it for free which is a huge plus. They have tons of toppings and salsas to choose from which is my favorite part. They have a chipotle ranch, multiple salsas, guacamole, etc. It is a very filling portion for what you pay. I definitely recommend it! read more

When you can avoid a school dish that you know is probably not as great as a food truck do at all costs. I went straight to Tortilla since their food truck is parked right outside Columbus State Community College. It is just like Chipotle with the meats, fajitas, beans, except the salsa options are a little more since it is a food truck. I always say go for the food trucks. You know that if you've read any of my past reviews. Even on my vacations that's where I'm headed. What I like about Tortilla is for $8 I can get a burrito bowl that will satisfy me for along time throughout the day. Seriously, I did not really feel hungry after eating this food. I usually don't get that feeling restaurants. Maybe because the food is not as authentic and homemade as you can see in a food truck. I highly recommend the Tortilla food truck to anyone looking for a satisfying Mexican food truck similar to Chipotle but way better ingredients. You will find they don't just offer the burritos but deserts as well and what more could you ask for than a great meal with a dessert? I get that it's comfest but if you're gonna be right across from the main stage you're need a way for people to order that isn't shouting and not being heard. I was asked questions I couldn't understand bc I shouted 7-9 times that I wanted 3 tacos with carne asada, onions, and cilantro. I went through to people yelling at me before I got to the end where the cashier made sure to lean forward and be loud enough to ask me questions. They said, no toppings? I said again, carne asada with onions and cilantro. They had to send it back to get that done. Better process, different employees or a different location. Let me start by saying I am a HUGE fan of chipotle- like never get sick of it, borderline spiritual following. So when I find a place with the same business model, the bar is already fairly high. Tortilla, however, exceeded my expectations. We ordered at the food truck parked outside of our favorite bar (Daily Bar in Italian village). We had no idea which food truck would be parked at the bar, but just wanted to grab something quick while we had a few drinks. We were SUPER excited to see that the food truck of the night was a chipotle style make your own Mexican truck. The two men working in the truck were so friendly, super helpful, and helped us navigate the menu and build our bowls. We both got bowls with a tortilla inside- I tried the carnitas and my boyfriend had the chicken. Both meats were super flavorful and cooked to perfection. Everything in my bowl was hot, flavorful, and delicious. I will 100% be seeking out this truck and the physical location in the future and will (dare I say it?) be choosing this over Chipotle on occasion. Thanks y'all! read more

I asked if the rice & beans were vegetarian and the man working the grill rolled his eyes at me. The menu says "pick your toppings", but my food made it all the way to the end without asking me for any toppings. I had to go back (after paying) and ask for the bare minimum toppings (salsa, lettuce) and the staff seemed very annoyed. $12 for a plain quesadilla is absolutely ridiculous - even in today's times. read more

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! The staff got our order wrong, lied to us about what was included, and proceeded to be rude when we reported their mistakes. The blonde woman because defensive when I told her the lie we were told and said "I've never heard him say that." Then she sarcastically said I was being "real Christian." What she should have done was apologize and offer me coupons for a free meal (or six for all the members of my family) in the future. Instead she was crass, rude and defensive. The queso, holy cow. The first time we stopped at the commons I got carnitas tacos and those were damn good. The next time I got steak nachos and they blew my mind. It's like chipotle but with way more options. The cilantro sauce is also very good. And even though there's always a line when we go, the line moves fast so it's not that bad of a wait. read more

Located at the Columbus Commons, I'm not the biggest fan of this place. I think the prices are a lil high and the idea of having something so specific like Mexican food as a permanent setup doesn't make sense. I would of much rather liked to have Mikey's Late Night Slice still there. This is similar to a Chipotle, w/ some different toppings Chipotle doesn't offer. Overall it's decent. I've had it more than once. It's worth a try and is fulfilling if you're in the mood for mexican and are at or near the Columbus Commons. read more

Decent food truck that frequents my workplace. Went with the recommendation of a fellow yelper on the steak burrito bowl with chimichurri sauce. Steak was good - almost like an al pastor type of meat. Chimichurri left me hanging. She may have given me the wrong sauce bc it was more of a vinaigrette than a true chimichurri Lost a star for the temperature of the food though. It was cold by the time I got back to my desk. And bc I got 1/2 rice, my ingredients just covered the bottom of the bowl so if you're carb conscious- go elsewhere. read more

But this truck is perched in a great clean, safe, and well manicured landscape. So it was to good to pass up (plus they have churros;D). The staff is very friendly, and they really stuffed our bowl! This used to be one of my favorite food trucks in Columbus, anymore the idea of paying $9 for an entree off this truck is a little hard to do. Not a single ingredient seems to be fresh any longer. The corn salsa taste canned, the corn reminds me of the microwave dinners with the penguin on the front i used to eat as a kid. The chips (even for a$9 Nachos!) they scoop right out of a cardboard box. The flour/corn tortillas come out of plastic wrap. The meat (I've had steak, chicken, Barbacoa, and tofu in the last 6 months when they come to my work) has an unremarkable flavor of sitting on the truck too long. It's really difficult forking money over to this truck when there are plenty of northernized texmex places spending hours a morning on prep here in Columbus. Severely disappointed. read more

Overall, the food was really good. That being said,I was bummed at the service though. It was my first time trying the food truck, so I was unsure about the menu (reading the lists took me some time). It wasn't even busy but the worker kept rushing me and ultimately wrapped up my burrito before I could finish adding everything I wanted. So instead he put the extra stuff on the side and I had to make it myself which was kind of a bummer and it left a bad taste in my mouth of the establishment (no pun intended). I wish I could tell you more of what was in my burrito, but besides "chicken", "brown rice", and "jalapeño cheese tortilla", I was rushed and didn't have much say of what went into my food and had to just spoon feed the sides as I took a bite of my burrito (which isn't the same). The picture has my sauce, sour cream, and lime that he neglected to add because he rushed me but I forgot to take a picture of the other carton with my extra sides he failed to include (corn, pineapple, etc.) because I was upset with the way I was treated..
