We come to Ensenada to race the Baja 1000 and make at least two trips to Tio Toño's cart during our stay. I highly recommend the ceviche and another dish he bakes in a big clam shell on a toaster oven sitting on the tailgate of his white truck. Seating is plastic chairs under a 10x10 easy up, but you won't care because the food is so good. If you try it (and I hope you do) tell him Desert Dingo Racing sent you. Truth in advertising: Tio Toño's cousin Carlos is one of our chase truck drivers.

Very nice outdoor space with plenty of seating and our waitress was very friendly. The tacos (and sauces) were extremely fresh and delicious. They were perfect. The prices were also really cheap! Highly recommended if you're in the area!

The eggplant itself was so well cooked - it practically melted in your mouth. And at first I thought strawberries on top of a fried eggplant sounded super weird, but wow it worked - the sweetness from the strawberries (warm/slightly cooked) paired with the slightly bitter pieces of grapefruit and the salty capers... just wow. I don't really have any other words to describe it! Go here and order this if you are in Valle de Guadalupe! The setting is very pretty; lots of tables outdoors with great views of the valley/mountains. I wish they had a little bit larger wine selection since they're right there at Vena Cava but still overall a great meal that I'd highly recommend!

If I recall correctly, there was a line on each side of the tiny stand to separate the ceviche menu and the fish menu (I would triple check with the staff which line you're standing in before you start your 30 minute wait!). They accept both cash and card, and you'll find both locals and tourists in line. That's when you know it's good :) The best, freshest seafood I had my entire trip. I visited in June, so I think the summer vacation folks made it more crowded but I promise it's worth it! There was a sauce table where many customers were pouring from different bottles onto their orders, and I wish I had the courage to try them lol. If you're adventurous with spice, I would go for it! I found the ceviche completely fine without anything extra, and I was able to bring it back to the ship to take my time enjoying.

Luckily, Churros El Tio Gelos was in the first grouping of booths that you get to walking from the cruise ships. My daughter said "That's the one from last time! I remember because of the Minions". Try to remember your pesos since they charge a premium if you only have dollars. When we got there, they had a stack of churros ready to go in a fry basket. We waited a few minutes for them to sell through those. Once they started a new batch, we asked if we could have the fresh ones. One of the workers extrudes the churro batter directly into the oil, flips it once, and pulls it magical coils once they turn golden brown. Then the coil is broken down into sticks, coated in sugar and cinnamon, and into a paper bag or styrofoam box. I'd have them put it directly into my mouth if it was allowed. If you've ever gone to a theme park and thought the churros were pretty good, these churros will blow your mind. They're crispy on the outside, a little chewy on the inside, and just the right amount of sugar, cinnamon, and oil. It just lights up every sensor in the primitive parts of our brains. One of the only foods we don't have a good picture of since we eat them immediately. Easily one of the best bites I've ever had.
