Originally ordered this place via DoorDash but ended up going to their actual location a few times now! Prices are affordable and they even have daily specials( Wednesday is BOGO whole fried tilapia- yum!) and lunch specials! They have desserts like Bionicos and ice cream and have Mexican cokes/beverages and agua frescas. I tried their torta cubana and I think it's my new favorite on their menu - the perfectly fried/crisp cutlet *chef kiss!, hot dog, and ham with cheese. The governador (shrimp tacos) are also really good - I love a good Mar y Tierra taco/burrito and unfortunately they don't offer them - so I usually just order an asada taco and put them together.. hehe! There is a salsa/toppings bar which has cilanto/ceboilla, mild-spicy salsas including pickled jalapeño/carrots. My favorite sauce is their chipotle - it's creamy and slightly sweet with a little kick. This is an over due review as we have been coming here since 2021. We have always experienced great customer service and clean! The food is always consistently good. We only come here for birria tacos! We think it's the best in the OC. Today as always food was amazing we ordered 2 orders of birria tacos and 1 birria taco de chivo. When we finished our food we decided to order a large biónico. It was delicious but the watermelon was over ripe. We told Julie if we could have a replacement watermelon portion or possibly some strawberries. Julie had no hesitation and brought us a portion of strawberries with cream and coconut with a smile. Aly approached our table and apologized for the inconvenience. The customer service was and remains great. Aly and Julie were extremely friendly and accommodating. I would say this place is currently the best place around for birria de chivo tacos that I've tried. If you don't like goat (chivo), their birria de res (beef) is just as good. I would eat birria de chivo 2-3 times a week and tried many places throughout OC and arrived at the conclusion that this place is easily the best. I usually order two tacos, as that's all I can eat. If you order three, it comes with consome - which I don't really care for because it's a bit too intense. You can pay a little extra and add cheese, which takes it to another level. I also ask for it extra crispy and with extra onion & cilantro. Their creamy green jalapeno salsa is the perfect accompaniment to the tacos. I don't get all the bad reviews. I tried the birria (goat and beef), the nachos, and the carne asada fries and they were all delicious!! The birria was crispy and the meat was juicy with a delicious consome. The salsa bar had delicious sauces (I recommend the green more liquid looking guac). I did some research on their yelp before we went in to order. My wife got the birria tacos that were so highly rated and i got the asada tacos. I did see some bad reviews on the asada but it was my first time getting them and i wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. At the end neither of us finished our food my wife didnt like the birria which she was so excited for "best in town" and my asada was all chewy meet, no flavor and some crunchy particles in their i really dont know what they were wish i would took a picture. Very large and will fill you up. Birria tacos around 3.50 cheese extra. Consume is free if they remember to give you some. Some of the combos are good deal. Portions are good size and keep you full. Very good menu. I have not tried the mariscos but have tried them at one of their other restaurants. Very good. Parking is limited in front, but more behind laundromat. The name makes me laugh sometimes but this is my favorite place to get Mexican food in OC. My favorites are: - Tacos de birria w/consome (5/5): The best tacos here. The meat is juicy and the tortilla has a nice bite to it. Their sauces are also super spicy, so be warned. I can handle spice pretty well, but I can't hang with this sauce. Consome is a generous portion and is very flavorful. - Esquites (5/5): It used to be a bit watery for me, but on the most recent time I've visited it was perfect. Creamy, delicious, generous portion for a small. I've also had the torta ahogada, tostilocos, and pepinos locos. They're all really good if you're in the mood for them. As for drinks, I think the horchata is alright as its a bit too powdery and too sweet. I recommend the mangoneada or fruit punch. We order the birria tacos and consomé, I always eat my tacos with one tortilla so I decided to take one off my taco, and to my surprise when I open the taco there was a dead fly on it. Then I when ahead and check my husband's order and guess what we found another fly. I mean to find one is disgusting enough, but to find two and in different orders, it's just plain and simply repugnant. I had a delicious Torta ahogada and trust me it is one of the very best I've tried in Santa Ana, and I'm used to the real thing in Guadalajara,MX. I ordered the chilaquiles (the ultimate breakfast comfort food); my request was no sour cream, because the flavor absolutely turns my stomach. First time we came, we were satisfied and the lady that took our order was very polite. We came for the second time and unfortunately it'll be our last time. We have two small kids under the age of 5, one being under the spectrum...and was behaving very well but he loves sitting next to the window, which relaxes him when he's indoors. He was touching the window and as we were finishing up, the blonde server rudely came to wipe it down saying "lo acabo de limpiar y ahora otra vez" to which I responded "disculpe" but she still had a very rude facial expression. I then proceeded to tell my son not to touch the window anymore because the lady would get mad. I just wish people would be more understanding of children like our...he wasn't acting obnoxious or anything for her to have been rude that way. I totally would have wiped down the window had I noticed my son leaving it a complete mess. But she couldn't even wait until we finished eating. Donald Trump might think "they're bringing drugs, they're bringing crime" but all I think is "they're bringing Mangonada, bionicos, and torta ahoghada". With monthly trips to my Mom being reduced to an endless loop of doctor visits and picking up medical prescriptions I seized an opportunity to sneak up to Santa Ana for a Mangoneada (sic), a favorite treat that I can't find anywhere near my home in the Bay Area. Tortas & Bionicos "Nice" serves two sizes of Mangoneada. The "large" size is a ridiculous amount of Mangoneada for under $5 out the door. Seriously? This delicious, fruity-spicy-slushy thing served as breakfast and lunch. What a steal. Not as mango-filled as some versions, but super spicy and topped with the fabulously weird tamarind candy covered straw, I'd say this is one of the best deals out there. (Did I mention that I used to pay $9 for a smaller, albeit fruitier version in Marin? Truth). While waiting for my Mangoneada I perused and researched the menu. "Bionicos"? "Torta Ahoghada"? "Tostilocos"? "Pepinos locos"? I'd inadvertently stumbled into an outpost for iconic Guadalajaran cuisine and Mexican street food. Research it; these aren't things found at just any taqueria and the steady stream of customers coming through the doors were evidence of the demand for what's being served here. I was intrigued enough by their menu that I've an interest in coming back and sampling those unique offerings though my Mexican brother warned me that bionicos - in general - contain far too much sugar to be consumed by one person alone. Other stuff: * Located in a skeezy strip of businesses, the place looks and feels like a shuttered IHOP turned taqueria, minus any charm there ever might've been. * Cheaper than a trip to Guadalajara. * I'm not sure why they have "Nice" (in quotation marks) in the name of this place but it kept me entertained for about 15 minutes post-yelp check-in. Every time someone liked my check-in I'd see "Nice" appear, briefly causing me to believe that everyone knew of and approved of this place, however unlikely. Yelp did not disappoint when it recommended this hidden gem. I was looking for tacos near out hotel in Santa Ana and Tortas & Bionicos was the best rated one. It was really close by in a strip mall in a residential area. This is a small, no frills, neighborhood restaurant that serves great tacos and desserts. We got the fish, shrimp and al pastor tacos as well as their house special bionico which is fresh fruit in condensed milk topped with coconut, granola and raisins. The fish tacos here are even better than the street tacos we got in Mexico. They're battered and deep fried fish fillets that are sliced and topped with slaw and a creamy chipotle sauce. These are no dainty little street tacos. You had to use both hands to handle these tacos. I could not get enough so we came back the following day for more. On our following visit we got the shrimp ceviche tostada, bacon wrapped hot dog, chicken and carne asada tacos and of course, more fish tacos. They are super generous with the shrimp tostada. The shrimp tacos were grilled, not battered and fried, and had a nice kick to it. All of this went perfectly with some Pacifico which we ate by our hotel pool. It does not get any better than this! I think if we had time on the third day, we would have come back. The service both times was great. The cashier was very helpful and answered all our questions and never hurried us, even during their lunch rush. Plus their prices are awesome, especially for seafood. Both our trips we got a crazy amount of food and desserts for 2 people for around $20! We will definitely be back on our next SoCal visit. read more

Okay, on the outside it looks like a hole in the wall type joint! But on the inside its pretty colorful. Me and my wife had gotten a late lunch here and its kinda pricy but worth it. Not overly happy with this place, I used to live in Fullerton and would constantly order food from that location as it was always consistent and delicious. Recently moved back to Santa Ana and was happy to see there's a few locations here. I decided to order a carne asada quesadilla plate which comes with fried beans, rice, and salad; also ordered a mazapan frapp. I feel like I've had enough beans in my Mexican life to know when they are passed due because these certainly did not feel fresh and were very watery lol. The meat itself tasted ok but was way too salty, not sure if it absorbed the saltiness from the cheese or maybe how they say in Spanish "se le paso la sal" to the cook ha but I never had this problem for the other location it was always balanced and I would actually finish the whole meal. Have to say the frapp was my favorite part of the meal, remained consistent in flavor with the other location, creamy and not overly too sweet which I love.
