It's like that at all of the Maurice's that I've been in. To me, it's a form of fat shaming. I'm a plus size chick and I love my curvy body. There is no shame in my game. I like their selection of clothing but I wish they carried more styles in Pus size. The employees were super nice and kept checking to see if I was ok or needed any other sizes. I found several cute things to kick off fall. Most of the store was BOGO 50% off. I even found a few things on the Clearance that was 75% off. I really like their tank tops to layer under shirts with thin straps. It adds a pop of color and covers my bra straps. They have cute shoes, jewelry, and accessories. It all is up to date and stylish. I try to visit a Maurice's any time I'm near one to see what's new and what's on sale. If you are a plus size chick make sure you check them out.

I found a couple of items I liked, but I left purchasing nothing b/c no one said a single word to me until a made my way to the fitting rooms. I have worked retail on and off my whole life. We don't want to overwhelm the customer, but saying hello is important. Not standing around, talking to each other, giggling and playing on our phones is not how business is done. I counted 6 employees on the floor. Two behind the register, one in the fitting rooms, and three "waiting" on customers, one of which barely looked up from folding shirts. The other two were having a grand time doing their own thing. I made eye contact with the three on the floor multiple times but no one asked if they could assist me or even said hello. I had my arms FULLLLLLLL of clothes, including a bag from another store. The girl in the fitting rooms never asked if I needed anything. Needless to say, I left with nothing but frustration and disappointment. I went next door to Torrid and down the hall to the Buckle. Both stores are receiving rave reviews.

I responded that I was interested in a particular item, but unfortunately it was out of my price range. I celebrating a Birthday, a retired teacher, but on a vacation budget. Granted she had some nice pieces that could be bought in most stores and online the item I was interested in was an item I could have bought, but chose not to and have wisdom to stay in my budget. After being told it was out of my price range, the comment as I was on my way out the door was, " well, don't they sell them in Texas? Response- Oh yes Owner's response- well there you go, problem solved. God bless (not sure what god) and walks away. Really lady... Customer service on the minus side. Appropriate responses could have been: sorry I couldn't help, enjoy the rest of your stay in Branson, have a safe trip home, etc. I didn't have a problem, I had wisdom and a budget. Maybe I'm not the only one that had a "what just happened ?" It might explain the empty parking lot on a Saturday afternoon.
