We had a large concrete project, just over 1,600 sq ft, and Juan and his crew did an outstanding job from start to finish. He was on site every day, actively involved in digging, grading, and overseeing the entire process. Drainage was a top priority for me, and Juan made sure everything was done right. His team installed a trench drain and carefully graded the area so water flows exactly where it should. He was always responsive, easy to communicate with, and his pricing was very fair. The project took about a week. Day 1: Digging, adding soil, and grading Day 2: Trench drain installation, more hand grading, soil compacting Day 3: Soil compaction and rebar placement Day 4: Concrete pour On pour day, his crew showed up strong, about 10 people on site by 5:30 AM, even during a heat wave. They worked efficiently to stay ahead of the curing process and used an additive in the concrete to prevent rapid water evaporation, so we didn't need to keep watering it afterward. Three days later, they returned to remove the forms, and Juan personally did a final walkthrough to check for any issues or cracks. I reached out to Torres Concrete because I needed bricks fixed on my property. Super responsive and let me know that he could not do the work. He referred me to a Manuel Fernando Perez, who showed up to give me an estimate on the work. He seemed knowledgeable enough. From the beginning, things seemed off. He had one guy show up for three days and then said he wasnt working fast enough so he didnt show up Friday. On Saturday two guys showed up, wearing Torres Concrete shirts, and worked half a day, demanded payment when the work was not completed. The work was never completed. But I was left wondering why Torres Concrete referred me to someone with such terrible business practices. And why the guys that showed up were wearing Torres Concrete shirts. I was charged a lot of money and ended up having to do some of the work myself and hiring a guy to haul the demo bricks and concrete that they just left on my front lawn and backyard. Torres did respond and apologized for the referral, but I was left wondering if there was something else going on because he indicated that Manuel Perez was a former employee and that his men sometimes do side jobs. I wouldn't put in as much attention and care had I been doing anything myself. To give you an idea - they had to replace the broken water meter box in the middle of the job. Called their provider and I could hear the price over the phone. 100% transparency. Went to pick up the new box, came back, and spent literally 40 mins saw cutting the opening of the box...I was wondering why then Juan told me my old box had a better quality cast iron lid labeled "Water Meter", instead of the lid that came with the new box labeled "Sewer". In order for the old lid to fit he had his guys cut the opening. That's without me making a request. I honestly wouldn't have known or cared. But he took the time to do it and only charged me the price to buy the new box. Our new driveway now looks beautiful and sloped perfectly to push water away. We had water issues where our garage is at the end of a sloped driveway which cause rain water to go into the garage. Concrete work was good, but clean up was poor, a lot of nails, screws, and trash (used food wrapping and drink cups) left behind in grass. Crew was not professional, stayed late, and played music very loud after 6pm. Wooden posts we're not predrilled and split during install. I paid for the crew to purchase and deliver the wooden posts and header for me, they appeared to be splitting and damaged after installation. The crew damaged my wooden fence after work was completed. Julio replaced the damaged fence panel, and made some repairs with wood glue and wood fillers; however, the quality of the header and posts were poor. Overall I am disappointed with he quality of the posts and the cleanup. I do recommend the concrete work, but not any framing work, and I would recommend supervising the crew during clean up. read more

Juan and his crew demo'd and re-poured my garage slab and the side-yard slab behind the garage. Both slabs were original 1960's concrete - cracked up and in very bad shape. Their work was quick, clean, and top notch. The slabs now have rebar, vapor barrier (original slabs had neither), and a nice finish with the proper slope. I hired Juan Torres to landscape my brand new house after recommendations from a family member. I knew that he was unreliable - hard to get hold of and that he repeatedly cancelled appointments and did not show up as scheduled, but I had seen his work and felt it was worth the risk. I went through weeks of waiting for him to respond to my calls and texts after submitting plans to my HOA for approval, and when he did not show up for consultations three times, he had his wife text me and tell me Juan was "sick." I then had to choose another "contractor." He forfeited over $17,000 by not following through with me, as well as recommendations to neighbors who also needed brand new houses landscaped. When my family member tried to contact him because of a very noticeable stain on his new fireplace at Thanksgiving (because Juan never followed through after promising to seal it), Juan would not respond, except to make excuses. My son even offered to pay him, just to get it done because it was so noticeable. Texts and phone calls went unanswered, and finally the wife decided to insult my son in a text because Juan refused to follow through. I do not write reviews, but I feel that it is only fair to warn people that Juan Torres is completely unreliable.
