While on my travels to Spain, local recommendations led me here to TORO. Amazing food and local wines bring it all together with fantastic water front views. We went for dinner at Toro having read good reviews and weren't disappointed. Enjoyed a delicious goats cheese salad , enough to share. My wife had grilled salmon with seasonal vegetables all perfectly cooked. I had entrecôte steak, very tender. Came out a little too rare , they brought up the temperature so it was just right. All acccompanied by nice wines by the glass. An excellent meal, efficient service and good value. We will go back there. read more

This small Mexican restaurant is near our rental apartment and has good food. Had late lunch with tacos pastor which were very tasty I had a cold beer and my wife had a coke. Great spot with wonderful views. This restaurant sits among many and has to be one of the better places to eat in the port. I've been there twice and have had very good dishes. Today I went with the 5 course tasting meal with wine pairings and it was great. A lot of food and wine for 40€ per person. Everything was cooked right and seasoned well. I would say the king prawns with garlic and chili sauce were the best of the meal (even though they were not king prawns). I was happy I didn't have to peel them because they sauce was boiling hot. The one problem here, and I've seen it on other reviews is that our server was pretty bad. We were the only ones in the restaurant, and she spent more time conversing with another waiter than she did thinking about our table. She even forgot to bring the wine during one of our pairings. Then she just left for the day without even bothering to let us know. I was not at all impressed because I got the feeling she would have rather we not showed up. Prime location right on the pier with beautiful views. This is not a fast food restaurant so don't expect to eat and go. But the service was great, the hostess and waiters attentive, and the food delicious. We had the Iberian cured ham with cheeses to start, followed by Salmorejo, with Mediterranean chicken skewers and Flamenquin of bacon as our meat dishes. The chicken was good but perhaps a bit bland compared to everything else. Everything else was flavorful. Salmorejo is served cold and is a kind of saucy/soup with a variety of "toppings" you can mix in. My daughter loved it. I liked it too but not as much as she did. When it started getting cooler, the staff closed the ceilings of the semi outdoor section and turned on heaters which kept us comfortable. Nice place to relax and eat. read more

Toro is a favorite when in Malaga. I can never get enough of this restaurant located on the pier overlooking the water. Excellent for people watching and superior service. Outside dining or inside service is always perfect and the food and wine are worth the long track from the US. Do try the oxtail for a taste of southern Spain. English friendly read more

Sitting on a sunny day by the harbour... nothing could be nicer. Everyone had delicious fish or salads. Anchovies with tomatoes and sea bass were exceptional. Spending two weeks in Malaga it is a great test as to where you go twice. This was one of those choices. We ate so well throughout our visit but when it came to 'needing' a simple steak Toro met the need. The staff couldn't have been nicer and the ambience caters for all temperatures: indoor/ glass surround/ heaters. A hearty baked potato was very tasty too. Easily the best food I've ever eaten! Hats off to the chef! The food was exceptional, we had to salads tp start with first and then i had the Tuna from El Kamdara. I will never be able to eat tuna after that dish, it is something beyond description. Definitely looking forward to eating there again. read more
