We stopped at both the birthplace and childhood homes of LBJ before visiting the Ranch, where we toured the home he and Lady Bird resided, we then spent a couple hours in the quaint German town of Fredericksburg where we enjoyed lunch and a little shopping. Then a quick stop at Luckenbach Texas, where they were having a food truck festival and live music. We were impressed with this tour and encourage others to give it a try. Easy boarding, and an added attraction that boarding is at the visitor's center, which has lots of fun touristy items on sale. Hit just a few downtown highlights and back stories. It's not a fast moving or detailed tour - it's a shorter ride with more fun intended. The duck quackers everyone got when boarding were silly and fun and well used. Seating was a little tight for the grown ups (lots of kids), but the open air sides made up for it. The time on the lake was probably the highlight. It's a different perspective than the usual tourist view. We'd not do again, but were glad we did once. A little too loud and a little too kid friendly for that fifth star.

I'm talking grown adults acting like unsupervised 8-year-olds. Drinks flying, people ducking, one girl fighting for her dignity like her top came off ... and I'm pretty sure we came within inches of flipping that boat into the San Antonio River Walk. Meanwhile, the captain's just cruising along like, "This is fine. This is my Tuesday." Daytime? Beautiful, classy, postcard stuff. Nighttime? Turns into a floating bar fight with better lighting and a tour guide doing stand-up. End result: I came for a relaxing boat ride... Left feeling like I survived a low-speed aquatic bar brawl in one of the best spots in Texas.
