The cheese is great and staff is very helpful. They even gave us some recipes for the butter we bought.

Recently we were at a party where the hostess had purchased a dozen or more cheeses from Cheesers -…read morethey were all great. So when we were heading to Stoughton we knew we needed to stop at this place. The store was hopping on a late Saturday morning. We were there for the cheese but the front part of the store was filled with wine and liquor (they also have a tasting room upstairs - apparently it is a do-it-yourself tasting). They also have gifts and gourmet foods. The cheese counter probably had over 100 selections. There were many tempting cheeses. We selected a smoked blue cheese that we are looking forward to try. Given the wide selection we will definitely stop here again when searching for interesting cheeses even though it is a 25 minute drive.

Since it was a Monday, most of the shops and restaurants were closed, but Cheesers was open -- and they had Babcock (UW-Madison) ice cream. It's a cute little shop with lots of gourmet food items, wines, and gifts. We got a couple of cones. Union Utopia for me, served in generous portions on a sugar cone. So good on a warm day. The owner was super nice and told us a little about the downtown area, especially the Opera House that offers concerts. Definitely seems like a place we'd love to come back to.

Claiming their own proprietary bleu (the Dunbarton Blue), and a spectral collection of other local cheese, the dairy alone is worth the visit; and yet, the sausages and other locally generated meats - specifically the cured beef-sticks that I sampled - also present an effective case for pit-stop patronization. And then there's the beer quotient: with an outstanding selection of ales and lagers from New Glarus Brewery - not to mention their own specially branded New Glarus pint-glasses - Roelli covers another important front of southern Wisconsin. A propitious find after striking out on a Sunday afternoon in downtown Schullsburg (which was utterly vacant in the post-meridiem), Roelli in fact appears to be the provenance of most of the cheese we could have found in town anyways. And - resting neither far from Dubuque or Rockford - it is, moreover, a true destination for the caseophile (though they are completely willing to ship cheese to you if you cannot commit to the drive).

This review is only for their signature Dunbarton blue cheese, which we just got around to trying…read more It's not about their business or culture or practices which I'm sure are perfectly fine. This cheese is pretty expensive at $20 for 8 oz, and unfortunately like an expensive wine, I didn't particularly like it given the price point. So my advice on this one is to know what your taste buds like. This blue cheese was quite strong in flavor being quite sharp and salty. It was the only premium Wisconsin cheese the son gifted to us that I wouldn't have again. But don't let that deter you if you're a strong blue cheese fan, this could be your cheese. It's just not mine. It was nice to give it a go nonetheless.
