I was recommended to try Toranj Fine Foods by a coworker. I was in the area around lunch time so I decided to stop in. I went for the 2 skewer Koobideh Kabab Meal. It's two skewers of minced Lamb and Veal. My meal came with rice, half charred tomato and a charred Pepper. The meat was grilled to order and was flavourful and tender. It was cooked perfectly. The rice was fluffy and soft. It was basmati and was a great addition to the meal. The grilled pepper was a nice spice kick to the entire meal. I forgot to ask for bread and they were nice enough to give me a piece to have with my meal. The entire meal was excellent but I think next time I may go for 1 skewer as it was a bit too much for me for lunch. There is definitely enough food here for two people. They have a lot of different options for meals. I have to come back and try some of the other options. read more

Had the pleasure of buying some of their pastries: 1 rum ball, 2 mille feuilles, 3 roll cakes, 1 profiteers. Surprised that the pastries were charged by weight NOT by piece; all cost $28. Taste was just ok. EXPENSIVE for some of the rolls were not fresh (hard). Not very rich, sweet or creamy. Bought a small Persian ice cream, $6.49 (pistachio/saffron). It was satisfying. read more

My last visit was not a enjoyable one. I was there on a weekend and the gentleman (the owner?) who served me was not pleasant at all in contrast with those ladies who work on weekdays. The food was just okay. Since I can get better selection of Persian food in Ava Market on Sheppard, I won't go back to this place. I love this place. Service is friendly. Can call to order before hand. The meat is moist and succulent plus full of flavor. I ate there twice in one week. Theres even a side salad that goes with each combo. Plus a pop! Nomnom nom. The portions are huge! (In my opinion) i took half of it home to eat as a midnight snack but my picky hubby decided he wanted to eat the rest. He loved it too. Oh and you get to use real plates when dining in. Ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich ($6.99, came with a drink) and it was the worst I've ever had by a long shot. I should have known when the person behind the counter ripped the pita twice when wrapping it. I should have known before that when he offered to put ketchup and Thousand Island dressing (?????????????????) on my sandwich. I should have known before that when I saw that the only toppings they have are salad, coleslaw, peppers, and jalapenos. That's salad, salad, pepper, pepper. I should have walked away when he bent down to microwave the burnt-tasting meat. I should have just gone somewhere else. There was nothing redeemable about the food I ate. This is a location in the food court at the Emerald condos, so you'd be spoiled for choice anyway. There is no reason to go here. read more

I can easily say that the koobideh is one of the best kababs that I have had in Toronto. Toranj has incredible food and last night when we were there the gentleman serving us provided incredible service. We got one of each of the curry style dishes and each one was more delicious than the last. I asked for tea and he provided a beautiful spread of tea, raisins and dates after our dinner. All day special is a pretty good deal. I forget how much it is now, but I believe it comes with a skewer of koobidieh, rice, and salad and costs about $8. Ask for tahdig (rice crust) if they have it. If they do, and you ask, they'll usually give you a piece for free. I appreciate how clean this stall is, and how professional their menu looks. I think their menu may be a bit outdated though. I think my friend's order was supposed to come with soup and she didn't get soup last time... read more

Their khobideh is one of a kind, it's truly delicious, tender, juicy and it's always presented beautifully. The portion is perfect, amount of rice salad BBQ Tomato and chilli pepper right long side with two absolutely delicious kobideh skewers. We were thoroughly disappointed with the service provided by this restaurant. We ordered on Uber eats and the restaurant quoted a delivery time of 40-50 min. We received our food 2 hours later. Upon contacting the restaurant, the only explanation that I received was that "sorry it's busy". We received no apology. Very Bad Experience, my first visit at 6:00 pm , I ordered the $12/- Lamb Shank, was charged upfront & was expecting all the colorful required ingredients as in the picture in the Menu, to my utmost disbelief I see the old man giving me white rice and Lamb and a small spoon of curry, when questioned & after showing the picture as described in the Menu, the Man took up an angry defensive position saying there was nothing left and I should come between 11 am and 1 pm.
