If I could give this store a zero rating, I would. My mom and I discovered that this shop sells yarn and we were told when we called them that they had a very wide selection of yarns. We drove all the way from Hilo to Waimea to look for yarn for the blanket my Mom wanted to make for me as a wedding present, but when we got there we discovered they had only a small wall dedicated to yarns, and hardly any selection at all. We did our best to look anyway, and the store lady started to help us out by pointing out certain types based on what we needed, although she was not very nice from the start.
Everything turned nasty when the store woman picked out one color for me and I thanked her but said it wasn't really the right shade for me. She got irritated with me and stopped helping us! When my mom and I discovered that we weren't going to get any real help or find the colors of yarn we needed, we wrote down our favorite type of yarn and resigned ourselves to looking online, since there are no other yarn shops available to us on the Hilo side anymore. At that point the store lady promptly accused us of coming into the store purely to look at their selection and then go buy our stuff online! We couldn't believe our ears! We had told her we drove all the way from Hilo looking to buy yarn for my wedding present (which she didn't react to at all, not even a "Congrats" to me, the bride), and then she turned nasty on us when we couldn't find what we needed in her TINY selection of yarn colors. Even if we had found the colors we wanted, she didn't even have enough skeins of each color for our pattern! The whole experience was so awful and a complete disappointment. They may indeed have a decent selection for quilting, but their yarn choices are pitiful and expensive, and the store lady is incredibly rude. Because of how we were treated, we are never going back there again, which makes me so sad because my mom and I were so excited to find the yarn so she could start making my wedding present the next day. read more
