And she came back. she repeated that to me again, "Well, I didn't get you the small one, but I brought you a medium instead." This was a very oversized sweatshirt, mind you, not something that I could stretch out. She was definitely insinuating that I was too big for the smaller sweatshirt. I bought one big one with a pineapple and a small one with a plumeria. Later I ended up giving the small plumeria one to my sister. I really needed another big trivet the size of the pineapple one, so I called the store a few months later and they shipped me another one. Today, October 5, the door still had a note apologizing for being closed October 4 and promising to reopen on the fifth. Incredible. Even their apologies need fact-checking. Their business hours belong in the fiction section. "Open tomorrow" isn't a schedule; it's a recurring hostage negotiation with my free time. During the recent storm, they posted another closure notice while every surrounding business I saw managed to stay open. Apparently, the handwritten notes are essential workers. The staff deserves credit for being pleasant, but the selection is limited, and on my visits, the place has usually been practically empty. Hard to build a customer base when shopping there requires the tracking skills of a wildlife biologist. "Here we see the elusive employee. Remain perfectly still, or the OPEN sign may retreat." Waimea customers deserve accurate hours and a business that respects their time. If you're closed, update your listing. If you promise to reopen, follow through. We are trying to run an errand, not complete a fucking side quest. I'm taking my money somewhere that has mastered the advanced retail concept of unlocking the door.
