But then I guess a bit of 'man' is lost once you start going towards designer, which this shop definitely is. The January sales are still in effect here, with t-shirts discounted from £80 to £40. I wouldn't spend £80 on a t-shirt, but then I definitely wouldn't spend £40 either. I just don't quite understand the whole put sparkle on any item of clothing whether it's a t-shirt or some jeans policy to make clothes designer thing. It doesn't really work for me. That said, there's an amazing selection of jeans, t-shirts and jackets in Swagger Menswear and unfortunately it just isn't really to my taste. If being flashy is your thing, you could well find something here for you.

Ah, the swagger. But this Swagger is a menswear shop that boasts some famous clients. It's just that... the clients aren't exactly my cup of tea clotheswise. Darren from Hollyoaks? Well I'm not judging him in real life but he is the worst dressed member of the cast. JLS? Don't even get me started on those primary colours. Footballers? Gah! They do offer Ringspun clothing which I'm generally a fan of, but the jeans are a bit too garish for my liking. I'm one way or the other with how men dress, it's either an earthy-tone clad Diesel model or Noel Fielding. I can't have any of this in between nonsense. The dreaded Ed Hardy rears its head here - that awkward brand whose logo looks great on the backs of the leather and denim jackets of skinny indie types and retro pin-up chicks but generally dreadful on the jeans of... well, chavs. Swagger is hit and miss. It might be worth a visit for some unusual and interesting items, and sometimes you can encounter special offers like two pairs of jeans for £70, but so far it hasn't proved to be my cup of tea in a more general sense.

Yes of course they're there to make a sale, but at no point did I feel any pressure to buy. Looking for a decent shirt for the wedding of friends of mine, after a quick measuring with tape and being presented with their 'tester shirts' (you don't try on the ones you'd buy, these are to find out which fitting suits you best) I was shown to their fitting rooms. After trying on a few and deciding on a style, it was over to the shelving and they brought down some options. I ended up with a lovely crisp shirt for just shy of £35. For the level of attention I received I was expecting it to cost three times that price. I left with a smile on my face and you know what? They've hooked me as a return customer now. I'll gladly spend my money where they treat customers with such regard.

Best place to get your white crisp cotton shirt. The quality for a £30 shirt is miles ahead of what Thomas Pink and other competitors are offering at north of £100. Many of their jackets are half/fully lined with functioning button holes which are very hard to find for the price they are charging in this day and age. The customer service is very friendly too!
