Yes of course they're there to make a sale, but at no point did I feel any pressure to buy. Looking for a decent shirt for the wedding of friends of mine, after a quick measuring with tape and being presented with their 'tester shirts' (you don't try on the ones you'd buy, these are to find out which fitting suits you best) I was shown to their fitting rooms. After trying on a few and deciding on a style, it was over to the shelving and they brought down some options. I ended up with a lovely crisp shirt for just shy of £35. For the level of attention I received I was expecting it to cost three times that price. I left with a smile on my face and you know what? They've hooked me as a return customer now. I'll gladly spend my money where they treat customers with such regard.

Best place to get your white crisp cotton shirt. They have many different sizing and fittings which…read moreincludes the size of your neck, the length of your sleeves, the different styles of collar, french cuff/single cuff and how slim fit you want your shirt to be. The quality for a £30 shirt is miles ahead of what Thomas Pink and other competitors are offering at north of £100. Many of their jackets are half/fully lined with functioning button holes which are very hard to find for the price they are charging in this day and age. The customer service is very friendly too!

Topshop is situated in the Market Place shopping centre in Bolton town centre…read more There are car parks which are pay and display around the town and the bus station is not too far away from the town centre. The store front of Topshop is modern, attractive and clean. The window display is eyecatching and up to date.great. The inside of the store is large, clean and spacious and there are lots of displays which are imaginative and inspiring. This branch of Topshop has the capacity to hold a good range of lines and also has room to accomodate a good sized sale without causing cramping. There are shoes, underwear, bags and accessories too. The products are reasonabley priced and high quality. There are changing rooms within the store and these are clean and spacious. The checkout is to the right of the store in the centre and is normally well staffed. Staff are very friendly and very helpful, knowledgeable and efficient. The atmosphere is good. This is one of my favourite Topshop stores and I would highly recommend it to others. The store is within easy access of the other stores within the Market Place.....including DB3, Zara, Jane Norman, Mark One and La Senza. The town centre shops are nearby and also Crompton Place shopping centre.Large New Look in town......

They still have a…read morefairly good range of clothes but I am finding less and less clothes I could actually buy that would suit my body shape here. I think Topshop is now much more for the person who can pull of the current fashion trends and fads as most of the clothing they sell isn't really all that practical to wear.

As it's on church ground, it still doesn't serve alcohol although you can buy cordials to take away that would probably make great cocktails. We had a particularly charming young server who helped us try samples of the various cordials - they are all very sweet but lovely distinct flavours. We all opted for a full size helping of the hot lemon and ginger, my dad even snatched some extra of mine, he was enjoying it so much! My bf added gingseng to his (this combo wasn't on the menu but the server immediately suggested she could add it after he mentioned he was torn between the two). I tried the blood tonic milkshake after discovering the foul-sounding concoction actually involves hibiscus, rosehip and nettles. Any health benefits were of course ruled out by the ice cream, cream and (giant) flake topping, but it was yummy. Bf got an ice cream sundae, the "small" version being the side of his head (the large is normally recommended for sharing). My dad pounced on some lemon cake which he loved. If you don't have a sweet tooth there are a few savoury options, including a good selection of teas. But it really is a sweet flavour-oriented place - one of my fave features was that you can get a jam sandwich. The price point is really reasonable, sub £3 for the milkshakes which is excellent value, particularly considering you are in such a pretty environment. All in all a delightful interlude off the East Lancs Steam Railway!

The day we visited, there were two huge bikes outside and a couple of real bikers - beards, leathers, grease and oil - sitting inside drinking sarsasparilla and blood tonics. I'd recommend any of the cordials - we bought a few to take home and have used them as hot drinks, with soda water and as icecream floats - delicious! The shop itself doesn't look to have changed since it was first set up. Fantastic wooden pew-type benches, ancient soda syphons, antique counter and display material - everything is just so wonderful. Having said all that, one gets very quickly bored and we left to find a pub! (At that time there wasn't one in Rawtenstall that served real ale!)
