Zara is a lovely place to check out, but this one like it has progressed from the last time I visited 2 months ago but still has some changes that are needed. The ground floor was actually pretty organized this go round but it's really hard to find an employee to assist. One issue is possible because the employees look just like a regular shopper so you are unsure who to ask except the cash register individuals. The escalator going to the second floor was broken, so you will have to walk unless you can get on their elevator. On the second floor they also have self checkout and exchange and return registers. When I was asking an employee a question that was at the exchange/return counter, she was really on edge which I am unsure why. She finally just dismissed me and told me to go to another counter to check out since the self checkout machines cause so many issues. All I needed was an employee code to proceed with taking the locks off. Went up to floor three and the cash register employee that assisted me was so sweet and helpful! Normally I love Zara's for odd and end pieces but this one could work on customer service and working with finding a way to help the layout more shopper friendly. read more

If I had a body like Penelope Cruz, I would be able to swish in and out of Zara and pick up stylish new blouses, trousers, blazers, knitwear and dresses on a monthly basis. Knowing the Spanish fashion houses makes beautifully tailored clothes to perfectly fit the European figure, I wouldn't even have to try them on. I'd just stroll over to the cash register, exchange greetings with the assistant and walk out knowing I had some lovely additions to my wardrobe. Zara is a really good shop for certain people. If you work in a place where you get to wear you own clothes (business dress), you will adore this shop. Great, well made, fashionable clothes at affordable prices. Absolutely perfect for the office. If you are looking for cool, fashionable clothes to wear out of work, shop around. Zara does sell dresses and going out clothes and they are really cheap but they're a bit too serious for me I think. This store in the city centre is much better than the one in the Trafford Centre and it's a gem along this street of overpriced, pretentious stores. read more

To start, I have to clarify that I love Zara - as the other Yelpers have pointed out, for quality, fit, price and style, there's very little to compare. If I have some additional pounds to spend, there's a high chance I'll be spending it in Zara. Most recently, Zara has been shut for refurbishment, not that I thought it there was anything bad about it in the first place. The general feel of the store is very much the same, with plenty to look at (and touch, if you're anything like me - they use such a variety of textures, it's hard not to go around and feel everything) but there's just something that's not the same. I'm hoping it's just ironing out a few creases after the big change. It was rammed - and I mean rammed. People hanging around with nowhere to go, and not exactly room for maneuver, especially near the main entrance. I'm assuming this is a lot of people not knowing where to go (ladies on -1 and ground, TRF on 1, and men on 2 - just so you know). The escalators are also making an excruciating squeaking noise. After battling through the lost-looking men and battling the squeak, I managed to select my items and join the queue. Each till was taken up by someone returning items. When one finally came free, I was informed that it was card only. Due to a recent purse change, I only had cash - leaving me to have to allow 3/4 people ahead of me and wait it out. When I did get to the front, there was no apology and no sense of urgency to get through the queue. I left feeling fairly disappointed with one of my favourite brands - if they're trying to become a flagship store, they'll have to try harder. read more

I've always found the Zaras in Spain and Fuerteventura to be of better variety and quality than the ones over here (they used to be cheaper too due to the old exchange rate), but to be perfectly honest this particularly large branch near Marks and Spencer is a pretty mean contender. I struggle with shops that have women's names as their title. Not because I have anything against the name Zara, it's just unfortunate that I was coming of age in an era when a rather annoying Hollyoaks character called Zara was in one of the dominant groups on that soap. Does anyone remember her? Anyway, I try and block her out when I'm shopping here, and to be fair I'm normally more than distracted by a lot of pretty things. One thing I love about Zara is the tailoring. You're bound to find unusual, boxy, shaped coats in a variety of materials alongside quirky suits and strange trousers (when I worked in an office most of my trousers came from Zara and they were always commented on, from the cigarette pant to the harem pantaloon) as well as waistcoats with very interesting cuts. It's great for the power dresser, but Zara Basics is a superb selection if you're after the odd vest top or T-shirt. As well as this they do try and stay high fashion and keep up with the Topshop bunch, nodding to current trends with printed tees and nautical stripes. Zara's shoe collection has really come on in recent years too. You can get everything from flip flops to ankle boots, party platforms to shoeboots. Definitely worth dropping in on during the sale... the only con is that for someone slightly OCD like myself, the fairly frequent messiness of the shop (granted, usually at weekends) can be a little scary and offputting. The Spanish may be laid back, but you'd never see that over there. Not for a second. read more

Why am I writing a review for a major chain store that everyone knows about? BECAUSE THE NEW LAYOUT IS RUDDY BRILLIANT!!!! Instead of collecting the clothes by type, the clothes are in cubes categorised by look, so theoretically, you could pick an entire outfit from pretty much anything in one cube. It's a neat idea, which works better for some things more than others. Namely, for men, it does mean the coats are needlessly strewn throughout the entire floor with little rhyme or reason (a coat goes with pretty much any outfit afterall!). Likewise, some of the men's cubes are eerily similar, and so maybe the cube is just pretense? With a brand that has such a narrow range for guys, I guess it's too much to ask for radically different looks in each cube. The women's clothing looks far more varied though, although I can't comment on how practical it is (for obviously reasons). Anyway, would be really interesting if more stores picked up this layout, especially department stores like Selfridges and the like. read more

Zara is great fashion at great prices, Its a cool looking store after there huge revamp, All the staff look cool and stylish and friendly. Menswear is on the top floor but its well worth the trip for some cool looking clothes. The sales are pretty good too! read more

There are brands where you buy clothes from but then there are BRANDS which reflects your personality and Zara belongs to the latter category. Simple, Chic, Elegant, Straight Lines, White and Stylish these are the words that comes to my mind when I think of Zara. I think I am very attracted to Spanish fashion brands because of these qualities.To top all that up Zara is extremely affordable and yet does not look cheap in any shape or form. I dig their formal blazers they are so good for business meetings or even formal events, the dresses are so classy and sexy without being over the top and they all fit like a dream (at-least for me, I have heard different from some other people). I have two coats from Zara and I absolutely love them for their fit and most importantly they are warm. The male section is surprisingly great too and the best bet when you need to buy a shirt or casual jacket for your boy friend or friend. The store has a great vibe with good music and the staff are always very friendly and ready to help you pick 'that' thing you have been looking for! I loved this Zara! While it's expensive, there were occasionally items which could be had for great prices thanks to sales (or a generous/drunk marketing manager in corporate ;). The location holds a candle to, if not exceeds, others around the UK as well as throughout Europe. It houses multiple floors of delicious goods. I miss it dearly. read more

They have some really nice peices in their collections, their styles are great and prices are pretty reasonable high street too! This review is purely about customer service or in this case an abyssmal lack of it! I tried to call Zara Shambles, ( aptly named ) on numerous occasions since Sunday morning. On the 4 occasions I held on long enough, the line was pulled after 5 minutes, with no message! After 2frustrating days of trying I checked website and rang store customer help line. I was held in a queue at position number 8. After 1 hour I had reached queue position 1, but then I was told to leave a message. I did that asking for a response as soon as possible. I also left sent an email, again asking for a response and outlining my frustration and dissatisfaction with Zara. No response from either. I tried again this morning and was lucky to be answered within 7 minutes. No explanation as to the length of wait and unceremonious disconnection after 1 hour but I was put through to the store. It seems they carry a mobile phone on the shop floor but that number is not available to customers. Having had my query finally answered I asked to speak to the Store Manager, she told me her name was Rachel but wouldn't give me her surname. In other stores the full name of the manager is displayed. I told her how appalling the customer telephone experience is. After many apologies she accepted that it is something they need to address. Turns out the phone served by 01618310940 has a quiet ring and is kept in a room which is unmanned. It beggars believe! Having said I would post this review and had no intention of visiting the store again, Rachel did say that she hoped I would receive better service if I did come into store. At that point I thought she may have offered me a voucher as a goodwill gesture to back up her apologies but all she said was the phone was something they needed to look into. Not that I would have wanted to use it but I think poor people skills can be added to poor customer service for the Manager of Zara Manchester. read more

really nice clothes they seem to cover a few areas under one roof. they have zara woman which is the more expensive work style selection nice but a little expensive. they also do a zara basic which is quite cheap and more for everyday they have quite a lot of young fashion clothing aswell. they do some nice shoes but they are quite expensive. they have a mens section which do really smart clothing and childrens department how much choice ther is depends on the size of the store. the one in manchester is pretty big so theres quite a lot of choice. read more

I shop regularly on Zara online and I've never had any problems. I've been into the Manchester city centre shop twice in the last month. I rarely write bad reviews but I felt compelled to about the service which was shockingly bad. Both times several different staff (checkout/changing room/shop floor) were unfriendly, unhelpful and downright RUDE! I was so shocked the last time I went in I couldn't believe that they were getting away with treating their customers like that. 10/10 for making your customers feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.Somebody should really sort the staff out in this store, I'm sure I'm not the only person who has felt badly treated. read more
