We had never had an active dog before and were lost and having a hard time adjusting. I contacted Stacy because I had used her pet sitting/walking services before and was very satisfied. Stacy was so responsive and helpful. We started the 6 week basic obedience training right away. She came to our home and sat with our whole family and thoroughly went over what to expect over the 6 weeks, listened to our questions and concerns, and gave us homework to do each week. She demonstrated first then let each family member interact with our pup, which made us comfortable knowing we were doing it right especially after Stacy would cheer us on. She is very knowledgeable and if she didn't know an answer right away, she would jot it down and get back to me usually within the same day. I was so impressed! Our relationship with the puppy improved sooo much after starting the training. We were all so much happier and I loved the bonding time! Unfortunately, we couldn't keep our pup since we were moving back in with my parents for longer than expected and had to rehome her about 6 months after we got her. I was very nervous and felt really guilty. I didn't know where to start so I reached out to Stacy again, and she made me feel one million times better! She was not judgmental at all, she was the exact opposite. She comforted and reassured me that I wasn't a bad person, I'm actually getting teary eyed as I write this review because Stacy was so kind when I needed it most. She sent me resources and contact info to rescues in my area, but suggested that I try my local Facebook groups first and gave me helpful tips for screening and how to find the right family for my baby girl. I ended up finding a really great family through Facebook who still send me updates and pictures. I cried for days and Stacy was there for me during the grieving period as well. I never expected Stacy to do everything she did for us, it's not her job to be my therapist but I am so grateful to have found her. I doubt any other trainer would have been even half as helpful and caring as Stacy has been. I will recommend her business one million times over. I cannot begin to express my gratitude for Shawn and the entire team at Hillside Canine. We were in…read morea tough spot and had to quickly find a place to board our dog the night before Thanksgiving. Shawn answered and immediately assured us that his staff would standby to take in our pup. As stressed out pet parents after a 7 hour drive, the whole thing was a bit hectic trying to find a safe and reliable boarder on such short notice, but that staff was calming and friendly. Intake was smooth and gave us a lot of relief. After a couple days, we called and asked for an update. To our surprise, they sent a full report card with pictures and videos to reassure us that he was having a great time at daycare. I appreciated the detail and attention they gave our little guy. When we picked him up it was clear that he was very well cared for. Thanks to Anya, Auntie Em, the chill guy who checked us in, and the awesome kennel tech to checked us out. 10/10 would recommend.

The staff on the phone were very friendly and clear about their practice and made me feel comfortable right away. When we arrived, we were greeted with friendly staff and our pup, Tucker, immediately seemed at home and relaxed, which of course put me at ease as well, especially since as a rescue he has some separation anxiety. They were great at sending us some updates, including some videos, along the way where I could see that Tucker was enjoying himself along with a couple of other small dogs his size. When we picked him up, he was relaxed and not the least bit anxious but at the same time happy to see us. Overall, a very good experience and we would not hesitate to leave him there again, perhaps even overnight if needed. Highly recommend the Camp Verde location (that's the only one we've visited so far)!

I do not know where we would be without Monique. I truly do not. Our dogs Morgan and Joey had…read morelived together without issue for 11 months and then we started having major problems. Fights would erupt out of nowhere (or so we thought). We were living with them separated. Two different trainers we worked with were biased regarding mixed breed/rescue dogs and left us with little hope. The rescue we adopted Joey from recommended Monique with Elite K9 Training Ranch. Our evaluation was unlike anything I have ever experienced. SHE KNOWS DOGS!!! Like, really knows dogs. Truly, she is a dog whisperer. Joey had a 4 week board and train. She gave us homework to work on with Morgan at home. I was apprehensive at first about leaving my 'kid' for 4 weeks but now she is the one we board our pups with when we go away. She cares about them like they are her own and she provides a secure, protected and balanced environment. We have now worked with Monique for over a year. Board and train for Joey in 2023 then weekly group classes in Prescott with the occasional get away boarding. Every time I am around her I learn something new and my relationship with my dogs has never been better. Looking back on the past year I can now say that I am glad our dogs fought and led us to Monique. I am a better leader and advocate for my dogs. I am a better human too. Monique's real ability is teaching us, the humans, how to be better for our dogs and how to listen to what they are telling us and be the leader they need. My Malinois was unmanageable and had already fractured my knee cap while I was attempting to get any form of control I could. I was at my wits end. The growling, territorialism, lead pulling, and lack of discipline had me ripping my hair out and my nerves on end. After 2.5 weeks (unfortunately it took longer because I came down with Covid around the pick up date. Lee and his amazing crew were kind enough to keep him for me while I got better) I picked up a completely new dog and new set of tools and skills to both manage and train my baby boy. I came out of our pick up session after being trained how to manage my Ozzy. Our first night home he's completely changed into what I needed him to be all along. I'm tearing up writing this because Armor k9 gave my dog the chance to be with me when I move next month. Something that wasn't even an option last month. Due to Hillside K9 Academy's owner's other business (Northern Arizona Service Dogs) not having its…read moreown Yelp page, I am posting my review here. Both businesses are located on the same property at 874 Industrial Drive in Camp Verde. The owner of Hillside K9 Academy, Shawn T., is the trainer for Northern Arizona Service Dogs. I entered into a Purchase Agreement (as the contract is titled) with Northern Arizona Service Dogs ("NAZSD") to purchase from them a trained service dog. I had issues with NAZSD from the start with them being non-responsive to texts, voicemails, & emails. The Purchase Agreement with NAZSD stated that they would provide a trained service dog & assist me with getting the dog to pass Public Access as per the criteria outlined by the Assistance Dogs International. Contrary to how it was explained to me during my initial in-person meeting with NAZSD, the promised individual training was minimal & the promised group training was never conducted. During the first month of having the dog in my custody, the dog began to have "house training" issues while in public business establishments. After both incidents I immediately notified NAZSD. After the first incident I requested to return the dog for additional training; however, they declined to take custody. After the second incident a week later, I insisted that NAZSD provide a replacement dog as per the contract. In spite of my several requests for a replacement dog, both verbally as well as in writing, my request was never acknowledged nor was a replacement ever provided. I subsequently requested a refund of my deposit (several thousands of dollars), but these requests have all been ignored. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau ("BBB") to which NAZSD responded by making numerous false allegations against me, including certain details of my private medical history. Unfortunately, I did not make a response in time on the BBB's web portal before the BBB closed the complaint. I was informed by the BBB that both my complaint as well as NAZSD's response would be posted on their website publicly. It was my original intention to acquire a trained service dog, not to acquire a service dog to be trained by myself. I have so far been unable to recover the thousands of dollars paid to them, nor has NAZSD delivered to me a trained service dog as a replacement for the original dog which they chose to retain. The have failed to fulfill their obligation under the contract, although they have refused to return my payment. As of this date, I have not been reimbursed & NAZSD has not delivered a trained service dog. I would NOT recommend Northern Arizona Service Dogs in any regard, for any purpose. Their business practices are extremely unprofessional.

There's a reason we drive an hour each way up and back from Phoenix EVERY time we need to board a dog. We've had dogs our whole lives and have been faithful clients of Angelo's since we our new blended family found him in 2016. Our last 2 dogs have been working K9s with specific needs. Angelo is very familiar with these dogs as well, and Ares and Hades have always returned home happy and healthy. The facility is fully climate controlled with individual indoor/outdoor runs and is very clean. You won't find 20 dogs rolling around in unsupervised chaos while a bored attendant scrolls through a cell phone here. It's also not a place where your dog returns to you nervous wreck; but fluffy and smelling of baby powder with a ribbon on its head after being confined in a tiny crate for 2 weeks. All things to consider when entrusting your pup to someone else. Angelo knows and understands dogs and is beyond competent with all manner of breeds. I believe he also offers training services if you're in need of things like rattlesnake avoidance (yikes!) You may have to check the website for office hours as they are limited.

We have had our adopted pooch, Charli, for just over two years. She is a 6-year old 80-lb…read moreShepherd-Ridgeback mix. Except for an overnighter once when a friend came in to look after her, we have never been away for more than a few hours. We had a four-day trip to Vegas planned to meet up with cousins from Canada. We were at a loss to know what to do with Charli, fearing kenneling would bring up the trauma of her having been put up for adoption - twice. Then we ran across Bow Wow and Meow on NextDoor. Are we ever glad we did! Robin and Kimberly made advance visits to meet Charli, check out her routine and talk to us. It is obvious what dog lovers they both are. We arranged for Robin to do sleepovers including meals and Kimberly to come mid-days for wellness checks, companionship and "walkies". What a fabulous experience!! Both of them sent us text updates with photos, which really made us feel great knowing how well Charli was reacting. We now refer to Robin and Kimberly as Charli's "Aunties". Their pricing is very reasonable. Communication was like you have with an old friend. Charli's daily meds routine was easily handled. And they are both 'dog people extraordinaire". We returned home today (June 23rd) to a very happy and relaxed Charli. And as further proof of how great the experience was, since we got home Charli has made a few visits to the guest bedroom with a "Where's Auntie Robin?" look on her face. You absolutely can trust these folks to look after your fur-baby while you're away! Our experience could not have been better!
