I cannot begin to express my gratitude for Shawn and the entire team at Hillside Canine. We were in…read morea tough spot and had to quickly find a place to board our dog the night before Thanksgiving. Shawn answered and immediately assured us that his staff would standby to take in our pup. As stressed out pet parents after a 7 hour drive, the whole thing was a bit hectic trying to find a safe and reliable boarder on such short notice, but that staff was calming and friendly. Intake was smooth and gave us a lot of relief. After a couple days, we called and asked for an update. To our surprise, they sent a full report card with pictures and videos to reassure us that he was having a great time at daycare. I appreciated the detail and attention they gave our little guy. When we picked him up it was clear that he was very well cared for. Thanks to Anya, Auntie Em, the chill guy who checked us in, and the awesome kennel tech to checked us out. 10/10 would recommend.

The staff on the phone were very friendly and clear about their practice and made me feel comfortable right away. When we arrived, we were greeted with friendly staff and our pup, Tucker, immediately seemed at home and relaxed, which of course put me at ease as well, especially since as a rescue he has some separation anxiety. They were great at sending us some updates, including some videos, along the way where I could see that Tucker was enjoying himself along with a couple of other small dogs his size. When we picked him up, he was relaxed and not the least bit anxious but at the same time happy to see us. Overall, a very good experience and we would not hesitate to leave him there again, perhaps even overnight if needed. Highly recommend the Camp Verde location (that's the only one we've visited so far)!

As a result, the boys became restless, jealous, no longer listened (well) and taking them on a walk became a chore we dreaded. I wanted a better life for them and me. I discovered TopLineK9 when a St. Bernard was dumped in the Village. When I heard where and how he was being prepared for his forever home, I googled the business and reached out to Stephanie. Wow. Is she just a burning ray of sunshine and joy! We met and the boys and I were hooked. The boys went to school for the 2 week board and train. We met a few times during training to; first ease my fear that my boys would forget me, and to begin to train ME on being a better leader. Once the boys came home the change was palpable. They were actually calm in the mornings when they used to brawl at our feet while we drank coffee. Walk became something to look forward to and we were able to get out to some trails without the dogs barking and lunging at other people and dogs. They are actually listening and looking to me for direction instead of doing whatever they want to do. We are still in the process of doing a few follow ups to make sure that everything "stuck". I think the boys really benefited by being away from me for a few weeks because (I believe) they needed a break from me and my frustrations. I feel blessed to have found Stephanie and her team, they really perform miracles!

Rude and antagonistic front desk staff who then gaslight you and accuse you of being rude. Very defensive when asked about fees for visits and services. The Vet is rude and aggressive ! I believe they nickel and dime you there and I had taken 3 of my pets there over the last few years. Today was the end to supporting this business when the Dr. Decided to come out and aggressively confront me on their so-called discounted "brief wellness exam" when all I needed was a Rabies vaccine! I supposedly had an appointment at 3:45 pm however "another lady obviously got precedence who had an emergency with her cat"....ok, I was patient and didn't say a word! So at 4:10 pm the Dr comes out from the back and without acknowledging me as one of her customers, she laid into me "in front of her staff and another customer in the waiting area"....which stemmed from her front desk staff alleging I was rude and abusive in the phone call related to setting up this appointment! (During that phone call, I had shared my frustration in no one calling me back after I had left a VM 2 weeks ago and then I had asked were there any additional fees for bringing my pup in for her Rabies Vaccination? I was just trying to find out what the complete charge would be...after talking to one gal, another came on the line and accused me of being rude "because she responded to every voicemail..."...I was shocked by her tone and aggressiveness. Basically that was the end of the call to with my confirming the last appointment they had available on Friday, would be mine.") Sooo, when the Dr came out and started lecturing me on their discounted "wellness visit"... I just nodded affirmatively to what she said, but this seemed to trigger her more as she started yelling "and you can find a better fit after this!". I literally was scared of how volatile she became as I was shocked and nonverbal during her attack on me. She then yelled after walking away from me "you can go ahead and leave if you don't want to stay!". I did respond at this point and told her "No I've waited 25 minutes so I want to get her Rabies done"... (I had been told previously on the phone the reason they charge a brief exam fee was because under AZ law the Vet has to be present) Okkkkk, but then after all of this, the tech (who was actually very nice the entire time with me) asked to release my dog so she could take her back without me... I was firm about wanting to be with her, that she was already traumatized with being there on her 2nd visit to this clinic... And I was then told "I would then have to pay the full exam price!"if I was allowed to go back with my dog! Whatttt!?? I was now upset and suddenly the Vet comes out into the waiting area and "aggressively gave my dog the Rabies Vaccination "OH AND THERE WAS NO EXAM AT ALL! ...she then abruptly left and I could hear her speaking loudly about how I needed to find a better place to take her and how rude I had been!! Unbelievable! I would never trust this clinic and especially the Vet who runs this clinic to "even be around my animals again!". Again the Tech who I interacted with was very nice and professional with me the entire time. Always short-staffed Dr Holcomb...I believe I witnessed why today. I felt very unsafe at your business today...can't give you any Stars today! It's a ZERO! (Oh have to give at least one Star in order to post this!) No wonder your Front desk staff are comfortable in bullying and rude behaviors with your customers, they are obviously following your lead.

Fights would erupt out of nowhere (or so we thought). We were living with them separated. Two different trainers we worked with were biased regarding mixed breed/rescue dogs and left us with little hope. The rescue we adopted Joey from recommended Monique with Elite K9 Training Ranch. Our evaluation was unlike anything I have ever experienced. SHE KNOWS DOGS!!! Like, really knows dogs. Truly, she is a dog whisperer. Joey had a 4 week board and train. She gave us homework to work on with Morgan at home. I was apprehensive at first about leaving my 'kid' for 4 weeks but now she is the one we board our pups with when we go away. She cares about them like they are her own and she provides a secure, protected and balanced environment. We have now worked with Monique for over a year. Board and train for Joey in 2023 then weekly group classes in Prescott with the occasional get away boarding. Every time I am around her I learn something new and my relationship with my dogs has never been better. Looking back on the past year I can now say that I am glad our dogs fought and led us to Monique. I am a better leader and advocate for my dogs. I am a better human too. Monique's real ability is teaching us, the humans, how to be better for our dogs and how to listen to what they are telling us and be the leader they need. It takes work, dedication and patience but, wow, is it worth it! Thank you Monique for everything. Our home, ourselves and our 'kids' are so much better because of you.
