I did my trial for my bridal shower and knew immediately I was in the right hands. She was so easy to talk to. We all know wedding hair and makeup takes a while, so it's nice to work with someone you can enjoy during that time. She was so nice, we had great conversation. On the wedding day, she took the two tiny little changes I wanted to make from the trial and executed them perfectly. I received so many compliments and the pictures turned out amazing! With HMU, you get what you pay for. I've learned that the hard way over the years being in other weddings. It wasn't cheap, but it was worth every penny. I went in to get a hair cut and silk press. The cut ended up great! Length and layers were…read moreexcellent. The silk press wasn't as great, hence my two stars. Unfortunately, my hair suffered some heat damage that I believe was due the the techniques they used to straighten my hair. I didn't notice any heat protectant being used and they did multiple passes through my hair with a flat iron and hot comb. They also didn't fully detangle my hair when it was wet so there was pulling and snagging when they did the blow dry. Overall, it left damage and some of my hair won't revert to its curls at all. There are stringy, permanently straight pieces of hair amidst the curls, which is a telltale sign of heat damage for my hair type. It's disappointing that there are various sections of my hair that feel stringy and broken by this process. I absolutely loved the friendless of the stylist and I want this family (mom+daughter) business to succeed, but I needed to give an honest report of how the health of my hair suffered.
