Uh, ok. She then proceeded to ask what I wanted done. I'm thinking that's an odd question to ask as I'm getting ready to leave to go there. So I half-explained that it wouldn't be much but some refresh in color and a cut. Mind you, I scheduled for a full color and haircut. The woman on the phone said I'd need to come back for color if it needs to be lightened bc we won't have time but said she could do the haircut. I thought huh??? It made zero sense. I had been waiting weeks for this appointment and before I got there or before they even knew what it was I wanted, they were telling me they'd have to do another appt. for color. I was already unhappy at that point. When I got there, Anyssa had a friend or family member in her chair doing her hair so I'm assuming that's why I no longer needed to come early. While getting my hair washed, my stylist was talking about bar hopping tonight with the other girls who were leaving to go get ready and talking about what to wear. Anyssa was also talking about needing to get her nails done still. It seemed my appointment was getting cut short all so she could get ready for a night out at the bars. I had a 12:30 appt. on a Saturday! Like wtf is happening?! As if it couldn't get more unprofessional, Anyssa had her other coworker wash her hair next to me in a bowl while my toner is sitting. The alarm for my toner went off while she was still being conditioned. I have never experienced anything like this. Once I got back to the chair, Anyssa was telling her coworker to set up for her blow out after I leave. Like what?! She cut my hair while she had a towel on her head. You guys, it was the WEIRDEST experience! The friend eventually came back and sat down to wait for her to be done with me. It was clear they couldn't wait to shut that place down and turn it into a pregame/get ready turn-up or get the hell outta there. Anyssa tried to say what she'll do with my color at my next appt. No ma'am I will never be back. Seemed like a bunch of young girls who just wanted to push me out before I got there and were focused on the leather skirts they were going to wear to the bars. So disappointing!

We went into the apt very nervous after Monday's mishap which left my daughter absolutely devastated. Kirsty listened thoughtfully to my daughter's wants, set up a careful plan of action based on her recent color change and addressed her concerns with such sincerity. Within the first few minutes of her appointment my daughter was completely at ease and knew she was in good hands. Kirsty was warm and professional with her approach. Unfortunately, my hair suffered some heat damage that I believe was due the the techniques they used to straighten my hair. I didn't notice any heat protectant being used and they did multiple passes through my hair with a flat iron and hot comb. They also didn't fully detangle my hair when it was wet so there was pulling and snagging when they did the blow dry. Overall, it left damage and some of my hair won't revert to its curls at all. There are stringy, permanently straight pieces of hair amidst the curls, which is a telltale sign of heat damage for my hair type. It's disappointing that there are various sections of my hair that feel stringy and broken by this process. I absolutely loved the friendless of the stylist and I want this family (mom+daughter) business to succeed, but I needed to give an honest report of how the health of my hair suffered.

Because of the unexpected charge, I ended up leaving a smaller tip than I had planned, which I felt bad about since the stylist's work was good.
