DO NOT GO TO THIS NAIL SALON! Unfortunately I can't give zero stars. I have been going to Top Style Nails for over a year. I typically would get a regular manicure and pedicure or gel manicure with no issues. Last night I decided to get a powder dip manicure. BAD IDEA! The older Asian lady did my powder dip. She aggressively filed my cuticles and then went back over them with the electrical buffer. My cuticles bled! She just giggled and said sorry. I told her multiple times that she was hurting me. Her only response was that I should get gel next time. Well there won't be a next time. Pricing To add insult to injury they added an additional $5 to my service because I wanted round instead of square nails. Who the hell charges additional money for shaping of nails! So, the $42 powder dip was not $47. The sad thing is the owner will probably not read this review and if the owner does he/she will probably not respond. Therefore the shitty service will continue. read more

I went in for a mani pedi, the pedicure was fine but the manicure was not. They cut away at my cuticles so much that almost all of my fingers bled. When they applied alcohol, it burned so bad due to multiple open cuts. It continued bleeding after the appt and now my cuticle area is swollen, red, bloody & in so much pain. I've been going to Top Style Nails for about 4 years. Currently they have a lot of covid precautions in place. They take temperatures, provide hand sanitizer, and require you to write down your name and number upon entry. They also have plexiglass dividers at the manicure AND pedicure stations. I'm not sure about the cleanliness of their equipment though. It seems that they reuse some tools but not sure...The staff I have met are friendly and do their best to give you what you want. The place is also really nice with lots of wooden decor and neutral colors. I have gotten a regular mani/pedi, gel mani, and acrylic tips done here. I was happy with all their services, especially acrylic. I do not get tips anymore so I stick with regular or gel. I just recently got gel done by them and it has lasted 2 weeks with no chips. They do a very good job! Jim did my nails last and he is very good at gel so I'd recommend. I also like Fiona. My boyfriend often comes here with me too and he enjoys it a lot. As for appointments I never book them because they are always able to accommodate me, even on the weekends. It amazes me how they take me so quickly because they do get a lot of people coming in. I used to go to this salon a few years ago. They weren't the greatest, but they were adequate. A few months ago I decided to get my nails done in preparation for the holidays by letting them grow out and getting powdered manicure. The past few weeks that I have gone in, I was very specific about the shape. I wanted a square shape with the corners Slightly rounded. Last week I went in and the girl immediately asked me if I wanted a pedicure. When I told her no, she and the other older lady who I think is the owner or manager started laughing. Then she kept asking me if I wanted a pedicure and every time I said no, they would begin to laugh. Midway through the manicure, the girl hopped up and had me move to another person to complete it. That other person is the lady who is always by the front desk. She was very rough. As she was doing things she would flick her finger on me to get me to move. I have never seen that before in a salon. She left polish all around the skin and now it's not even a week and one of the nails has a crack in the polish down the middle. This is a powder manicure, so that should not happen. They filed the sides all the way down to the quick and so the sides of my nails are sore. But the thing that really annoyed me is that, even though the shape of my nails were square, she took it upon herself to just file down the sides, and make them narrow and put a point to them and even doing that, you can see that they're not even. I will not go back, and I would not tell anyone to go there. They changed the shape of my nails on their own, my fingers still hurt and their bedside manner is just awful Plus, I don't think they know what they're doing. read more

I'm new to the area and thought I'd start looking for a new nail salon. This was the second one I tried and I won't be trying anymore! The salon is very clean. The staff are very friendly. They have so many pedicure chairs, tons of manicure stations, and more nail colors than I've seen. They have great prices too. I got a gel manicure for $30. My nails lasted for almost 4 weeks. But I'm a terrible picker and ripped them off once they started to peel. At the end of my manicure they gave me a card with the name of my aesthetician on it. My husband got me a gift card here for Mother's day. I got the manicure and spa pedicure. The spa pedicure was good. The manicure was, and I can't stress this enough, THE MOST HORRIBLE MANICURE I EVER GOT. Whenever I get a manicure at nail salons, they would soak my fingertips, use an oil for my cuticles, and use a cuticle cutter to remove my cuticles and massage my hands with lotion - some put hot towels on them. Why did this nail tech not do any of that but use an electric nail filer on my cuticles??? She just went right into using the electric filer. My cuticle areas were BURNING on every finger and since the dust from the cuticles were getting all over my hands, my hands felt extremely dry and uncomfortable. I will never return to this place to get manicure. I went a few months ago and just got around to making this review. The nails started to chip a few days later - even though they chipped - I would not return to this salon to get them fixed. I'll try to find the card with the techs name on it...but OMG, the worst place for manicures. Unless the tech did not know what she was doing. I have money left on my gift card (not much) and I won't even use it. I didn't have the heart to tell my husband how horrible this place was. read more

Super sad to do this cause I used to go here when I was younger but this manicure is inexcusable. I went Tuesday March 30 to get my nails done for vacation. Today only 8 days later April 7th, my nails are in shambles - and I went the next day because I noticed the issue beginning already. I got uv gel tips, something I get constantly at other salons and not only did it burn really bad when In the uv machine but it peeled up on the edges instantly. The next day i returned to show her and she merely refilled the nails and told me it was because I had regular color not gel. Mind you this manicure was in the upwards of $80 at this point so i opted for regular color hoping to swap it next week with another color as i would never need a fill so soon. But no, the color is chipped, large portions of the gel are falling out by the cuticle and i need to go somewhere else to totally remove and redo them. I don't know if they aren't as skilled in the style if so it shouldn't be offered and most of my vacation i just looked like a real mess. I'm super sad. Let me get straight to the point: 1. My nails chipped in 2 days. 2. My cuticles are peeling from some chemical they used!!! 3. It was not relaxing. I felt rushed and pressured to move fast. 4. They tried to upsell me everything. Tips, SNS, 10min Massage, etc... I had already made an appointment and stated exactly what I want. So happy I didn't upgrade because the quality and service was horrible! 5. They tried to change the price on me when I got there. 6. I had Olina do my nails, man she was rude, and rough. I had to ask her to clean up my nails before I even left the shop. -_- 7. The shop owner or manager(older lady) kept standing around. I felt like I was in plexiglass nail prison. 8. There was another customer sitting at the nail station before me; Guess what? They didn't even wipe it down before I sat. "What's the point of looking clean if you smell dirty." Just a horrible experience. I payed $70 for chipped nails and peeling cuticles. They do give you a little card that says they will repaint your nails if they chip in 14days but I'm afraid they'll mess up my hands even more. I will never come back here again. First time here and will definitely be back! How have I missed this little hidden gem? Not sure- but glad I parked in front of it tonight. I ran in on a whim to get a pedicure 45 minutes before they closed. I was greeted immediately and reassured that they could accommodate me. The salon is extremely clean and modern. They clearly take covid very seriously here! Every pedicure station had custom partitions that basically keep you in your own little private acrylic room- it was perfect! They also have acrylic partitions at every manicure station and are constantly cleaning. I also really appreciated that everyone was masked properly- not an exposed nose in site! The manicures and pedicures are fairly priced. A pedicure will currently start off at $25 with a variety of additional ad on services available. Included in the pedicure is a leg scrub and quick hot stone rub down of your feet. The massage chairs are comfortable and don't beat you up like so many of us have experienced before when going elsewhere for a pedicure! My pedicure was perfect, never felt rushed and was I was all set and under a dryer before closing time. I had Shirley, and would definitely request her again. She was friendly, professional very nice to interact with and did a great job! Thanks Shirley! All in all it was a wonderful experience! Went on March 21, 2021 Called an hour and a half ahead to make an appointment for me and someone else. They said yes come at 4pm, we show up and it was a full house in there packed with many people, staff waiting at the door for people who only wanted manicures/pedicures. It was my first time here so I was hoping that it would be good but it was just alright. Waiting an hour and nothing was done nor did they have anyone available to do my nails yet. There had to be over 10 employees only 2 of them doing full sets and the rest just manicures and pedicures. I waited patiently, for over an hour until someone came to put tips on then waited for another person to come and actually finish them. I'm a patient person but, I did call in advance an hour and a half and then had to wait almost two hours to fully be done. Me and one of my friends got there around 6:50 and started our session. My other friends came around 7:15....mind you all the people were working ao they would of have to wait regardless. His response "just let it go"!!!! Really? I later found out he was the owner...talk about customer service. It doesnt end there... My friend that. Was getting her lower legs waxed was in there from 7:20-8:05. When we asked her why she said that the lady didnt know how to work the machine and was using the wax used for ur face...mustache and eyebrows so it was literally taking forever and all her legs were black and blue. This isnt even the worst part... When my friend (the one getting waxed) was getting ready to start her mani pedi the same guy said that they are closed and he couldnt take her. Confused, my friend explained to him what happened during her wax and that it wasnt her fault. He continued to say sorry we are closed, we are all still in the salon btw. Of course we were upset and tols him that we are 6 customers who came in and he cant stay open a half hour more to finish her services....he said no. Then this older woman went on to yell at us screaming and shouting like we were some kind of animals. Dont come here....Ever. The guy is so rude. They dont even wait for customers to leave the store. I've been coming to Top Style Nails for years. This is my go to place. They are a good value and if you want to pamper yourself a bit more, their spa menu is luxurious. I can speak Chinese so I have no problem communicating to the ladies there. Sometimes, I notice some customers getting frustrated with problems in communicating. Please just be a little patient and nice. Nice goes a long way. These ladies are cleaning peoples' toes all day. They don't need to be yelled at because English is their second language. That's all I have to say. I love going to spas and salons for nails, hair, waxing, massage... For nails, I always go to Top Style Nails in Bayonne. So I've been coming here off and on for the past two years, and like most say it's hit or miss but my last three trips have been MAJOR misses and I don't think I'll be returning. The woman who was assigned to my pedicure and powder gel manicure seemed so uninterested and rushed through my pedicure. My nails were shaped kinda crazy and she didn't really do a proper buff job, two days later and they've chipped ‍. On to the powder gel, they insist on cutting corners as of a late and I always have to get the manager involved when I don't want them to use the sander to remove the powder gel from my natural nail bed because EVERYTIME I've let them they've sanded TOOO much. So Cindy, pulled out the sander, I politely asked her not to use it and to just file, with an attitude and not even looking at me as I spoke she threw it down and grabbed the file and began to complain to her co-workers, it was evident by the immediate death stares I got from them. Then when she got to the other hand she tried to pull it out again, I gave the same comment, then she insisted that she would only lightly tap the polish off so I let her and when she thought I wasn't looking began to buff the whole nail bed and I quickly pulled my hand away and asked her to return to the file. The polish job was decent but she left powder caked up on my cuticles and under my nails. Two days later the powder on 8 fingers has cracked, I know I could go back to have them fix it but I don't want to go through the removal process. The quality at a point was so much better, but I think they are either using fillers now, or are using the setting polishes improperly. I will not be returning! read more
