The experience of having a roof installation can be stressful. However, the entire team at Jersey…read moreRoofing made the entire process easy and calm. From the sales team to the installation, and customer service, everyone was helpful and responsive. The installation crew and foremen were knowledgeable and kept the team on schedule working into darkness. Clean up was amazing. No debris was left overnight or the next day. Nails were vacuumed, even attic spaces were vacuumed. I can not say enough about Minn!!!! When customer service is no longer valued, she exemplifies what it means to put the customer first. She answered all my questions (no matter how trivial) with respect and kindness. She was extremely responsive dispatching a team (prior to the installation) when I had a ice damming leak She kept us inform throughout the installation process. If I could give them 10 stars I would. GREAT JOB!!

I needed push piers to stabilize my home's foundation, and after getting several quotes, I chose…read moreGroundworks. Their pricing was similar to the competitors, but what set them apart was that they offered unlimited pier depth per section. Other companies had limits--for example, up to 20 feet, then an additional charge per foot after that. I'm glad I went with Groundworks because several of my piers ended up going 90 feet deep across 16 sections. With another company, that could have cost me significantly more. I also had their gutter guard system installed (similar to a French drain, though they claim it's better), along with a vapor barrier and mold treatment. I will say, if you have a serious mold issue, I'd recommend hiring a dedicated mold remediation company instead. I did have an issue with the mold spray, but after calling a couple of times, I was able to speak with a manager who surprisingly took my concerns seriously and resolved the issue. The salesman who came to my house, Randy S., was excellent--very thorough and knowledgeable. He always answered my calls and would text be back in a reasonable timeframe. One thing I didn't like was the same-day discount tactic. They present you with a price, then offer 10% off (or whatever discount they choose) if you sign that day. It puts pressure on you to make a major decision on the spot, which is difficult when you're spending over $50,000. There is a three-day cancellation window, but some people may see the discount as more of a sales tactic than a real benefit. I also want to mention the foreman on the job, Jose G. He was great--he answered all of my questions and even let me watch and learn a little while they were working. Overall, I was very pleased with the experience. Their warranty is transferable, which is a nice bonus, and hopefully I won't have any more issues going forward.

They use only the best products and have a level of integrity that is hard to find anymore. Highly recommend for issues with water, mold, or cracks in your basement or crawlspace.

My house was built in 1950. We would go through dozens of towels and often run 5-gallon shopvacs to try to keep streams of water from flowing across the floor and pooling into the finished part of our basement. Finally, I had enough. I called a few basement repair companies to come in, survey the problem, and give us estimates. The Basement Expert, with their simple approach, no-nonsense guarantee, and not trying to oversell us or suggest unnecessary steps, won the job. I couldn't be happier with their work! The job was done by a group of hardworking but affable guys. During the day, the foreman consulted with us and explained things every step of the way. The owner even showed up to check on the work and ask me how things were going. The job was completed and cleaned up in one day without too much disruption to our household. Since then we've had several storms that would've saturated scores of towels and repeatedly filled up the shopvac, including TS Debbie when it inundated our area with over 6 inches of rain in less than 24 hours. My basement now? Not a drop. It's true that one point early on, I saw a patch wetness in the concrete close to the edge of the new drainage line, but not real concerned about it. However, they had told me, "If you see any water at all, call us." So I did. They came right away and in about 2 hours tied that spot into the line, free of charge. The system has worked flawlessly ever since. Now, thanks to The Basement Expert, I can enjoy watching storms from my porch or living room instead of being confined to the basement and the drudgery of struggling against leaks coming in. I highly recommend these guys. Craig H

We had to call Craig to set up meetings because he never gave us the courtesy. Golfing is his first priority. We then gave them plans from the internet so they had a visual of what we were looking for and they copied the floor plan exactly, avoiding all the specific options we wanted. He doesn't take notes so every time you meet, nothing is changed and he has no recall. Met with PJ, Craig didn't show. Much better experience. He took notes, talked about what we are looking for and how to get there. We made another appointment many months later because they never followed up. We were smuggly told we were at the bottom of their pile. Nothing that our meeting with PJ was addressed and Craig didn't even look at those notes. Had no idea. And by then, the cost of the house we didn't like was $150k more than we budgeted for. Wasted a year of our time. AVOID THIS COMPANY.

We were told that he would supply us with as many designs as we needed until "we were happy even if it took 100 drawings". We signed the contract and gave him the payment in late September 2016. We received 3 drawings by October 25, 2016. One bigger than the next. Not one was under 1,400 sq.ft. We sent him an email with the changes, we wanted explaining that the designs were to big and to please make the necessary changes to the existing plans to make it the square footage we wanted. He email me "no problem". On December 2, 2016, We had to emailed Craig to find out what was going on. We had no contact from him for 6 weeks. We received an email with an apology, and that we would receive a drawing by the end of the week. We received nothing. We got an email on December 10th saying he was really busy and we should meet after the holidays. We called the week of Jan 1st to find that he was on two week vacation but made an appointment for the Saturday after his return. We had to cancel this appointment for personal reasons and rescheduled for Feb. 11, 2017. We arrived at his office to meet him and the draftsman, PJ. At this time, Craig did not even bother to show up until our meeting was over. In light of the designs, we received, we were not confident that PJ was given the correct criteria of what we wanted to build. My husband made a rough drawing of what we wanted to build and gave it to them. On March 2, 2017 we received a "we can't satisfy you letter". If he can't design a 1000 foot home with a drawing done for him, it's pretty sad. We asked for a $900. refund. Now, he won't return our calls. We felt half the payment was more than fair for the work he did. However, he gave us nothing we asked for. In return, he gave us what he wanted to build. Our experience with Craid Smyth was nothing but dishonest!!! Don't waste your money. I am thankful to have found out the character of this man, before I gave him $200 to $250 a square foot to build a home. If this is how he treats his customers during the design phase, I am glad I did not find out how he builds a home. He wasted 6 months of our valuable building time.
