BE VERY CAREFUL. Our community had a contract with Top Notch to trim all trees in common area, plus homeowners paid them on their own to trim their own trees. Top Notch did not complete the common area job and did not complete 8 homeowners trees and refused to give them their money back. read more

I wouldn't advise using them. I called them on Monday to get get an estimate to trim 3 Sabal Palms, certainly NOT a big job. They said they don't give quotes over the phone and someone would have to come to my house to give me an estimate. Three days passed and no word from them! I called them back (they never called me back) to find out if they even came and they said it will take an additional 7-10 days to get me an estimate (the receptionist was pleasant). This is at MOST a half-hour job for a guy with a saw and a ladder and I'll need to wait 2 weeks for them to tell me how much it will cost? I Don't Think So! They must really NOT need the business. Tried for over 10 days to get a bid on 10 ficus tree in our HOA for interior thin out of some dead wood and light shaping. They did not keep appointments ,call backs with their promise of follow up ,never happened . Call taker had a no care attitude and stated she passed on messages ,yet three attempts and still no return call. If not interested in job should simply state so instead of wasting peoples time. Top Notch No Longer!! Here is a copy of a letter I just send to Top Notch. Judge for yourself if they are TOP NOTCH. John Ross, Please be informed that because you failed to provide me with a proposal and an Insurance certificate as promised by you I could not let you do the job as planned. As you know I have called you and your office on many occasion during the last few weeks trying to get you to do the above. It is beyond my understanding why you would not respond to my numerous request and email me the necessary documents, like you did in the past year, unless of course you no longer have any insurance coverage. Your failure to provide me with a written proposal also raises very suspicious flags and points to unprofessional business practices. Very disappointed. Called and asked for an estimate for tree removal. Top Notch asked for a picture and description which I sent immediately. I called 2 days later to confirm that they received the info, were interested in the job and inquired about timing on an estimate . I was told that I would hear from them within the next day or so. Not happy with their service and sales dept. Salesman oversold and the plants are high maintenance plants which I did not want. Called company and a month later they returned my call. Purchased three Foxtail Palms at Top Notch. John helped me pick out three amazing, healthy trees from their lot. They were delivered in a timely manner and the installation team was professional, friendly and they did a superb job on the installation. Very reliable, show up when they say they are going to, and get the job done right. Crew was efficient and worked hard. We got an estimate beforehand that was free, and did not pay the bill until the work was finished. It was a tough job as well, since the trees were against a fence and leaning against it. Absolute worst installation service ever. They destroyed all my landscape lighting...ALL...broke a buried sprinkler pipe and severed the wires going to the post light in my front yard. They refuse to do anything about it saying they "try to be careful, but it's not their responsibility". You pay more then you ever would for installation expecting good service. I called them to remove some trees and grind some stumps. I was given a price and told it would only take one day to do the job I agreed to the price and to let them do the job I also ask them about doing some more work for me later which they said just call and they would be glad to do it. It took them four days to do the job and then when I called them to do the work later they would not return my phone calls and after calling four times and not getting called back they in turn called another tree service and had them to call me so I had no chose but to use them because I was having a new fence put in. When the guy came to run my fence he found stumps and roots that had not been ground so it made his job harder. If ever ask by anyone to give them a tree service you can bet it will not be these people boy what a mistake read more
