Having used myriad hurricane tree trimming companies over many years this year we, our condo association, decided to use Zimmerman Tree Service. In the future we would not consider using any tree service other than Zimmerman. Our dealings were with Orli Zimmerman. Her recommendations as a Certified Arborist and her expertise as to why they were doing all the things they did was very informative and professional. Arborist arrived to give an estimate to trim 2 large trees. He left and said he would email me with an estimate but never did. Tried several times to contact him but never received a response. I had used the service once before and they did a professional job. Apparently he was offended by my questioning whether one of my palms was two palms or a single palm with 2 trunks. His personality is offsetting but if you can get him to give you an estimate the actual tree trimmers do a good job. read more

Just repeating the other reviews. I had the exact same experience. Horrible customer service. After getting an estimate and signed contract, they gave us the run around for weeks. Finally, they said they were going to show up at 8am to start. At 8:07am they said their crew was on another job - and they could do it next week. I took the day off from work to be here. Had Zimmerman trim a big ficus tree in our yard. Seemed they did a good job when we first looked at it. However a few weeks later maybe 2 not much more, We took a walk and we were able to see it across the lake. It wasn't balanced from the back at all. So we called, several times and spoke to Ari for someone to come out and take a look. Have you seen any of them ? Because we haven't. What would it take for someone to come out to new job and assess it. Paid in full - doesn't stand by the end results. read more

Safety should come first and should not be excluded from even the least expensive job order. Had I called code enforcement, they would have made you do it right, and possibly fined your company. And your guys should not be standing on the brim of the open back of the truck to trim as high as they can reach with a pole saw. You should provide them with the proper tools to get the job done to code...like a truck with a bucket and lift and proper trimming tools. Do not blame the management company who trusts you would follow code. And don't take advantage of their lack of knowledge. You're supposed to be the professionals. read more

I had an appointment to meet for a quote and it was confirmed by Alex. He did not show up and claimed he had something come up. I understand that situations happen but even he admitted that he should have giving me a call to re-schedule. I reached out when he was suppose to be at my house and he didn't even respond until 20 minutes after the appointment was scheduled. Zimmerman tree service rescued me from my jungle. I was trying to show before, during and after photos. The proofs in the pics!! But I'm having trouble finding my before pics.. They were professional, and were cautious and careful on my property! This area was nothing but a jungle and their stump grinding did the trick.. trees removed and they cleaned up my property when they were done. Job well done Zimmerman tree staff!! Don't use Zimmerman Trees for anything (not reliable). I called in late October to get a estimate for my trees and hedges. Alex left a message and I called back and left him one also. After a month I called back and left a message with Kathy. Someone did finally come out and said we would have a estimate in my email by 24 hours. Still waiting. I called back a week ago Thursday and spoke to Kathy again and was promised a email with estimate that evening or early the next morning. As of a week later still don't have it. I really thought they would be reliable because they're such a large company. My mistake won't happen again. read more

So, two weird tries with these guys result in a poor review. A while ago I tried getting a bid from Zimmerman to take off some fairly large limbs from a Laurel Oak overhanging our lanai cage; he came out to the house, identified various trees that weren't on our property, ripped some ivy off our fence, and looked at the tree...and left. A bid was never forthcoming. Which seemed weird, but hey, landscapers in FL, right? They are very busy. I wish I had the type of money where I could ignore people asking to give me work. Anyhow, I went with another company that actually gave me an estimate. Aaaanyhoo, today I see the Zimmerman truck on my block for a neighbor, and I ask the foreman if they can remove a medium sized palm almost touching the front of the house and blocking two bedrooms, roots and all, without disturbing the shrubs nearby; he said he'd get a number from Zimmerman and let me know before they did cleanup for the neighbor. As promised, the foreman later lets me know Zimmerman said they can do it that afternoon, and I'm psyched, so we go out front again to ID the tree and I repeat, leave the shrubs, take the palm and roots, Deal. I go inside, happy. Lo and behold, they get it done...leaving the roots. I inquired, and he said he'd have to take out the shrubs to get out the palm's roots. Umm, isn't that the issue we discussed, twice?!? So, p.i.m.a. coming up if we want to plant anything there, and leaving the roots wasn't the agreement. Now, he did the haul away w/o extra charge, and I still appreciate the relatively low price just to be rid of the palm, but why agree to a job and then not do it? read more

We have used Zimmerman Tree Service 5 times in the last 10 years to take care of our oak tree before hurricane season. They are licensed, insured, arborists who continue to satisfy every time they come. The crew was just here yesterday and the men were polite, communicative about what needed to be done, and they performed the work like artists, climbing in the tree with safety equipment. Their presence felt like they were here caring for our tree, not hacking it. They chipped and took away everything they cut and left the yard with no damage to any plants and everything was clean. I had a yearly service contract with this company for 3+ years to not only trim/prune my trees but to treat my plants and landscape monthly with fertilize and treat to prevent bugs, fungus etc. I noticed that a hibiscus tree was loosing all of its leaves and texted my contact Ari Zimmerman. It took 2 attempts to him and another 2 to the main office before I received a return call. A serviceman was sent out and informed me that the tree was infested with aphids and sprayed the tree. When asked how this happened after preventative service was supposed to have been performed, there was no explanation. I texted Ari again to voice my disappointment but again received no response. I then call the main office and let my feelings be know to the person in the office who did not seem at all surprised at my experience. I asked to have the company owner call me and did get that return call quickly. Multiple excuses were given as well as an apology but no responsibility was taken. There are way too many choices of companies that do this type of work to have to accept such poor customer service like this. read more

Like scam artists. We asked for a price to remove a palm while they were removing a neighbor's palm. They gave us a price of $150 total by check (since they were already there doing work) and told us they would remove the stump. However, when they finished cutting the palm, they said they could not remove the stump without removing the surrounding bushes. This made no sense since we had a palm removed right behind it...all of a foot away....and lots of empty space surrounding this tree. Also, even though they didn't remove the stump, they of course still charged us the $150, And then they had the nerve to try to hit us with a $75 hall away fee AFTER they were done and even when they had the truck with debris already there. read more

Ari Zimmerman was very professional and there was no sales pressure. Took his time to explain everything to me so I had an understanding of what I was getting for the quote he provided. Had another estimate that was lower, however have had bad experiences going with the lowest quote. Had three trees pruned and while the cost was higher his company spent the full day working to make sure everything looked right when it was finished. They also were very detailed on their cleanup. I would have given 5 stars, however they did end up breaking part of my patio furniture when they moved it, but Ari quickly remedied the situation to my satisfaction.
