Jennifer is a great server, and on fish fry night the food always seems to be cold. That's not her fault.

Food isn't to bad. Seems like everything that is deep fried is cooked in oil that isn't fresh. Fries are homemade but they don't taste fresh as they have that dirty oil taste or dirty fryer taste. Their breakfast is really good. Staff is very friendly and service is good. You can tell that the restaurant use to be an old Wendy's or such. And it shows the owners definitely support the Republican Party. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Overall I like the place. Would visit more if the fried foods didn't taste more fresh from the oil. read more

I know I wouldn't. I'm just there to eat a good meal. As for our experience, it met expectations. Was it "amazing"? No. Nor did we expect it to be. We expected a good wholesome meal and that's what we got. The food was good, the portions are huge, the prices are reasonable and during our visit, we didn't witness or experience any of the complaints others have made about the service or management. Stopped in with my wife after a football game on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and I wasn't disappointed! I ordered a pepper burger and I added an over easy egg and bacon. The burger was cooked perfectly and was huge! I could barely finish the burger and could not finish the fries! I read a lot of reviews that talk about not going their because of the little bit of political aspects, it doesn't bother me. Yowza yowza went there for breakfast on Saturday. What a great breakfast place. I ordered my eggs over medium and they actually came that way. The portions were enormous take a look at the pictures. Didn't care for the huge Trump banner. You would think it would be neutral. They weren't enforcing the masks on rule. Staff had no mask and no customers came with any on except our group and one other family. Got the ayce fish. It looked delicious. It was COLD. Mac n cheese was gross. Wasn't homemade it was GFS made. Didn't look fresh and cold. Cole slaw was really good. Service was decent. Apparently, the owner doesn't care about their health or health of their customers. The staff here are very kind and the food is delicious. We have had breakfast, lunch and dinner here. Everything we order is always good. The burgers are my favorite. They have better burgers than other restaurants that their whole menu is burgers. They have daily specials which even include a special on their burgers which I believe is on Monday. We visited Top Notch diner last night, and it was a great experience. Since I have to address the mask issue, I will get that out of the way first. No, they do not require masks, however their other precautions far outweigh any that I have experienced in any other restaurant. We had absolutely no concerns about eating there. They even have a sanitation chamber where items touched by customers and staff are disinfected. It's too bad to see their ratings drop over this and over politics. Now for the food and service...Top Notch indeed. We had the Spare Parts appetizer which seemed to have a full portion of the individual items. We sampled a bit but had to take most of it home. It came with a generous bowl of both marinara sauce and ranch. I'm not usually a lover of jalapeño poppers, but my husband convinced me to try them. Delicious. My husband had the Italian sausage sandwich which he said took him back to childhood. The marinara sauce was his favorite ever. It was huge and he couldn't finish it. I had the meatloaf entree with masked redskin potatoes and a dinner salad. The meatloaf had a very different consistency from my meatloaf, but it was quite good. You get three large slices so I have a slice and a half left for lunch today. Our server was friendly and attentive, exactly what one hopes for when eating out n If this isn't somewhere you are comfortable going right now that's fine, but for everyone else, we highly recommend Top Notch. When I visit a restaurant I prefer to leave the politics at home first off. Let me start with something positive...the servers were friendly and the restaurant appeared clean. We ordered omelettes and I'm not sure what eggs they used but it was very thin and rubbery texture. I could not even tell it had Swiss cheese in it and the spinach was globs of canned or frozen. Breakfast with an unwelcome side order of deeply deranged politics. Look, I prefer my breakfast without a political message thrown in, That would include messages from ANY political side. But, I admit, the unhinged MAGA world is the very least palatable breakfast side dish. The owner is a rabid Trump supporter and displays her cult membership prominently inside and out. It might have been tolerable IF the food been good. But it wasn't. Not even close. When the waitress asked if I wanted my homefries "deep fried or grilled" I suspected a problem with the food. Proper homefries are neither of those things. And, as foreshadowed, the potatoes were just truly gross. Soggy with some weird unrecognizable seasoning which colored them a yucky red color. The yolks of my sunny side up eggs were close to being hard. No excuse for either of those. Bacon was adequate and toast was actually excellent. Weak coffee though. My advice: Keep you politics to yourself if you want my business. Why a business would want to intentionally drive away an entire segment of potential customer base is beyond my imagination. But maybe doing so in Ohio is a sound business plan? I should have done my research prior to stopping, but later learned that the owner intentionally violated health codes and public safety during the covid pandemic. Alas, it was the only option in the area and we had no choice. I will never eat here again. To atone for supporting this political establishment (it has no right to call itself a diner or restaurant) I am donating an amount equal to 10x what breakfast cost to the Biden campaign. I will also send donations to democratic candidates in Ohio. read more

It was a fine restaurant. Food was good. Service was slow. My only objection was their interpretation of the seniors menu. I always thought it was as a courtesy to those of a certain age with modest means (like how I diplomatically said that?). Top notch offered a junior burger with fries. I ordered the steak and eggs, I told the waitress I wanted the steak medium well. If you have ever been there you know that you can see into the area where they prep your food, mine sat there for at least ten minutes while they fixed my husbands pancakes. I could see the waitress touching other peoples food with bare hands, as she stood there playing with her phone. By the time our food came out my eggs had hardened and I wasn't even able to cut the steak it was so tough. Basically what it was, was a piece of pot roast that looked like it had been cooked two or three times. The potatoes were a nasty joke. Never order the pancakes. They are so thick you could never get them done in the middle and they have NO FLAVOR. Just taste like flour. No drink refills. The waitresses are dressed disgustingly. The owners hover over everything, but they never do anything to fix the food or clean. YUCK!!!!! Never going back. Even if it was free food. read more

Ordered a pot roast with mash potatoes, gravy, & vegetables. The meat was extremely dry, potatoes had no taste, and the vegis were frozen. I asked the waitress to take it back because it was no good and she did with no problem. The owner came to my table and demanded I pay for the meal bc he said "there was nothing wrong with it." So I said fine and asked for my dinner back, and instead of simply taking it off my bill, the owner made me a new one!!
