Somehow the air may seem even cleaner than your average bar. Smoke & Narrel Cigar Lounge in downtown Dadeland has been trying to make a name for itself by hosting free spirit tasting every Wednesday night. What started with tasting of different brands of whiskey and burbon has now extended to tequila, rum, wine, and now Pisco. Every week, a representative from a spirit brand gives details about what makes their brand special, provides a brief explanation on the history and the distillation process, and you can taste different varieties of their spirit, all free of charge. I try not to miss these events as I find them informative and educational, and i also get to try brands that I may not be that familiar with. I spoke with one of the people working there, and they have a new owner from just last week, and they are bringing in a bit of everything (Sorry for us Americans, but no Cubans unfortunately), but they have literally everything else and then some more. The young cat that works there I spoke with is a reservist, and they give a military discount, which is always appreciated, I was ecstatic when I got 4 bold cigars for $36 WITH my discount. I was one happy individual this day... If I ever go back, I'd go out of my way to head back here!

The also have a ton of stock, and botique cigars that are hard to find elsewhere. Can't say enough good things about them! My wife was out running errands and planned to stop in to pick up a few cigars for me, so I called ahead with a couple questions. Ruth answered, and she was absolutely fantastic. She was friendly, super helpful, and clearly knows her cigars. She made me feel genuinely welcome, even as a first-time customer.
