A Backyard Transformation by Rock Solid Landscape…read more From our very first conversations, Jeff approached the project with a rare combination of vision, creativity, and care. He took the time to truly understand what we were trying to create and made it even better. With the help of his designer, he provided a detailed visual rendering that allowed us to see what was possible before construction even began. Beyond the aesthetic transformation, Rock Solid Landscaping brought expertise that solved real, long-standing challenges. They completely addressed our severe drainage issues in both the front and back yards, protecting our home and creating peace of mind. Throughout the entire process, their professionalism was unwavering. The team showed up every day on time with consistency, discipline, and respect for our space, always leaving things clean and organized at the end of each day. But what truly stood out was their spirit. They were positive, kind, and cheerful in their work, and they worked very hard. Even during adjustments or changes, we were met with patience and openness. It never felt stressful; it felt like we were supported every step of the way. Jeff remained closely involved throughout the entire project, maintaining constant communication and showing up regularly, often multiple times a week to ensure everything was progressing as planned, to address questions and make sure we were happy with the progress. Jeff is not just an exceptional professional, he is an exceptional human being. He leads with integrity, kindness, and heart. He understands that what he builds isn't just landscape, it's part of people's lives, their memories, their joy. We are beyond grateful to Jeff and the entire Rock Solid Landscaping team for creating something so special. If you are looking for a company that excels in custom landscaping, outdoor living design, water features, patios, drainage solutions, and complete yard transformations, this is the team you want. They didn't just exceed our expectations, they created something magical. THANK YOU Jeff!!!

Requested bids and designs to remove all the grass in the backyard, install sitting walls around trees with flag stone steps and zero scape setting. The rabbits and voles wreaked havoc in our backyard. We've had to replace our lawn twice. Jeff with Rock Solid Landscaping responded. We agreed to meet and walk the yard. We wanted 3 mounds with larger rocks around with native plants. The crew started everyday at 7am and worked until 4pm. They were always on time and worked a full day. This job was completed in 2 weeks. They delivered a porta potty, bobcat in front of our home. They put cones for safety. They are very organized, when dirt, rocks were delivered they moved to backyard. Then they swept the street and/or driveway to keep clean. Our neighbors complemented on the nice job of keeping street clean. Juan Carlos and his 2 workers were very well organized. They always cleaned up at the end of the day. I asked for a few Day Lillie's be transplanted back into the area. They installed a new drip system with an extension for me to plant my small veggie garden. We are very pleased with the entire process, price and worked they did. We highly recommend Rock Solid Landscaping.

They dug trenches for the irrigation but left hundreds of large rocks in the dirt and then laid sod right on top of that. They told me, "Don't worry, soon the grass will grow right over the rocks - no big deal. Give it a year or two. That was 3 years ago, and my yard is disgusting. I can't mow it as the wheels of the lawnmower drop down into the depressions where there are large rocks all around them. As you walk in the grass, there are pits and rocks that you can feel under your feet. Half of the sod has now died, even tho I spent hundreds every month over the summers on water and fertilizer. It makes me sick to even go into my backyard. I have asked the owner to come look at my yard and talk to me, and no replies - ever. He knows he did a cheap crappy job and now he just wants to hide from me. Stay away from this 'company'.

All was very reasonably priced! I was able to complete everything myself over the weekend, and both water features turned out awesome. Amanda's recommendations were extremely helpful, and the whole process went smoothly. I really appreciated the knowledgeable service and support, and I'm very happy with how everything looks. Creative Gardens has an actual retail store in Sparks so you can always find them. We dealt with the owner, CJ, who was very knowledgeable on designing a backyard. He listened to what we wanted and then produced a virtual reality model of it on a large screen right there in the office. He had the ability to make real time changes as we requested them. This is a family operated business with CJ being the 3rd generation owner. His mom is the office manager and his sister runs the retail operations of the store. From the minute we walked in the door, they put us at ease and made us feel very welcome. The fact that they could make real world changes on the computer sold us on going with them. It was that and how well they treated us from the moment we walked into the business. During the build we had multiple changes and additions. The field supervisor, Jeff, is awesome to work with and doesn't know the word "no". He always says "we can do that". Their work crews were also great. Their crew leader, Cruz, can build just about anything and runs a tight ship. We really couldn't be happier with our backyard and the relationships we built with the Creative Garden staff. They have our full support and recommendation for their work. Oh and they are priced very reasonably.

We hired Pantera Landscape for a major landscaping and hardscaping project at our Reno home, paying…read more$75,098.89 in total. Their initial verbal bid came in $20,000 lower than the final price, which they raised after their design team produced the renderings. (Felt like a bait and switch.) The project was estimated at three weeks and ran closer to 4 months, off and on. The workmanship problems are significant: - The front steps had to be rebuilt three times and still are not code-compliant. The third rebuild happened after a month of using the steps, when the tops started falling off -- a serious safety issue. Even after the third build, the steps are uneven in height (up to an inch difference in places). We have hired another company to fix them. - Retaining wall caps are uneven and sawed off; multiple caps were not secured. - Uneven retaining walls throughout. - Mid-project, they mismeasured the distance of the top retaining wall from the house by several feet, leaving a significant slope despite plans calling for level terraces. They did not take responsibility until we showed them the plans and pushed the issue. They did finally come through with a fix, which was to build a fourth retaining wall. - Sprinkler system was botched and part of our lawn is dying. Danny and Jesus said they could not prioritize a fix for several weeks because they didn't want to make other customers upset. - Decorative rock installed too thin; weed barrier is visibly exposed throughout. - Glue residue left on the front door and on wall blocks. - Exterior lighting has multiple lights that don't work. When we raised the defects, the response was to blame "unforeseen conditions" and "site conditions" -- that is, the slope of our yard (which was the entire reason we hired them to build terraces) and a gas line at 12 inches (which is standard code depth and discoverable through the legally required 811 utility locate). Neither qualifies as unforeseen. If site conditions were a concern, they never should have taken the job. Our last text (requesting they cover the cost of the new contractor we hired to fix the issues) went unanswered. We have filed a complaint with the Nevada State Contractors Board. In our experience: limited skills, and no accountability when problems surfaced. If you're considering Pantera, get every specification in writing, document everything with photos, and pay in much smaller increments. I don't recommend hiring them for complex jobs.

Before finding them, we were getting bids from other companies and felt completely confused and uncertain. Most offered no design support, just a quick walk-through and an a-la-carte bid with no real direction. It felt disorganized and left us feeling stuck. My husband wanted a VersaCourt sport court, so he reached out through their website and was connected with Afuera, the preferred installer in our area. I had seen Afuera's work on social media but assumed they were out of our price range. From the moment we met George and Jamie, we knew we had found the right team. They had a clear vision, offered thoughtful suggestions, explained the process, timeline, and payment structure, and walked us through their impressive portfolio. As a business professional myself, I really value exceptional customer service, and it was obvious from day one that Afuera delivers exactly that. Throughout the project, their team went above and beyond. When small issues came up, they proactively reached out with cost-effective solutions. They even contacted the company that installed our original pavers and coordinated warranty repairs, something they didn't have to do but chose to because they genuinely care about their clients and the final result. We've since hosted several events, and everyone is blown away by the space Afuera designed. I cannot recommend them enough. Not so with Justin and his team. I was treated with the utmost respect and consideration and never, ever felt belittled by them which is fantastic. I was treated fairly and the work was done for a reasonable price. Justin is conscientious and takes pride in a job well done. He'd rather not do something at all rather than to do it incorrectly. He makes sure that the job is done perfectly. He has very high standards, just like I do. Justin always answered my questions with patience, honesty and thorough responses in ways that were easy for me, a lay person, to understand but was never, ever condescending or impatient. Ever! Thank you Justin! Just look at the beautiful work that they did on my fountain and putting green and believe me, when they finished the job, the area was spotless and debris-free unlike it is now in my photos. My fountain was a gift that hadn't been used for ten years so parts of it were brittle and fell apart during installation. Did they say, "We can't install it" or "It's junk and it'll cost X amount of dollars more to get it running?" No!! They got what they needed to fix it for me and didn't charge me a penny more for doing it either. When's the last time you received that kind of service and care? I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HB Landscaping and in fact, I plan to use them again to change my courtyard and to xeriscape the front of my property.
