The ambiance changes throughout the day depending on the people and this place makes a great people-watching location. The bartenders have always been friendly and kind and the service is very good. They do or use to have shows and events in another room that's connected to it and these are fun and can get kinda wild. Lots of the people who come here are here for conversation and watching the game and I have found mostly everyone very easy to talk to. If you have not been here I recommend coming on a Friday or Saturday evening. This is a good spot to pregame or to finish the night.

The setting is convenient as its just down from a hotel. Ambiance is nice. Both times, the bartenders have been nice and accommodating. One of the nice features of this bar is that though it's long and narrow, they've put a good amount of seating in and there's some nice entertainment. For all of this, the bar would really be at a 4 or more rating. However, it is a local bar and the locals really seem to be set in their ways and are not welcoming. During our most recent visit, there were folks playing pool who I noticed looked irritated we were there to being with. Come to find out, they were playing in their pool league, and apparently for the pool league, nobody else in the bar can have fun. My daughter and her friend set up and played beanbags for a bit, as the bartender allowed because it's there, and gave us a bucket of beanbags from behind the bar. Well, apparently, that's too distracting for the pool league. So, one of the players tattled on my daughter and got the bartender to tell her to move to the front of the bar. Whatever. She and her friend just stopped playing. To give the pool players credit, they tried to be nice and thank my daughter for stopping, but seriously? In the end, its a shame that the bartender caved and that the locals participating in the library pool league ruined a nice fun night for others. By all means, have the league, but then maybe set up some signs, barriers, wear earplugs, or something. It's not like the beanbags hitting the boards were louder than the music being played, but it is what it is, right? Sorry to sound whinny about it all, but seriously, it's a bar, it's a place for enjoyment. We would likely give the place a shot again, but probably not Thursday night during pool league.

We started with the home brewed kombucha on tap (currently 3 varieties). The honey ginger is crisp and refreshing. Can't wait to purchase at the local Super One stores by the can. We ordered the smoked olives with fresh baked focaccia to enjoy as we looked over the menu options. Amazing! I had the walleye cake eggs Benedict with jalapeño and dill hollandaise. My companion ordered the huevos ranchero tostada. Delicious! We then both ordered the fresh cardamom roll with Carmel icing to go. I plan to enjoy it with coffee tomorrow morning.
