I needed a drywall repair before moving in, and she recommended him. Brock and his crew came out and completed the job. We exchanged numbers, and I told him I'd reach out for future projects. And I did multiple times. I hired him to replace my kitchen faucet, bathtub showerhead, tub stoppers, and even a toilet seat. Most recently, I paid him to do a wall paneling project and paint my walls. No issues driving to my home then when he was being paid. Fast forward to me reaching out about the same drywall he originally repaired it's now cracked and clearly wasn't done properly. Brock came out, looked at it, and said he'd take care of it. Since then? Nothing but dodged calls, broken promises, and a month of being strung along. Eventually, he told me my home was "TOO FAR" (a 47-minute drive, mind you) and that I should find someone else. But somehow, that drive wasn't too far when he was cashing checks for every other project I paid him for. Interesting. I even reached out to my friend the same one who referred him to let her know how unprofessional this situation had become. She spoke to Brock directly, and he told her he had nothing but nice things to say about me and that he'd be calling me to schedule the repair. That was over a week ago. Still nothing. No call. No follow-up. Just more avoidance. Brock had no issue taking my money when it benefited him, but the moment the work required accountability, suddenly I became "TOO FAR" and not worth the follow-through. This kind of behavior is why people are hesitant to trust contractors. Brock clearly doesn't value integrity, communication, or repeat clients. The second was to patch a couple dozen holes and repair tile after we had the home re-piped. In both cases we were very happy with the work, Richard and his employees are very skilled. The walls look really fantastic, the texturing is very good, making the areas where holes were imperceptible. Richard also had the young man who worked on this latest project go the extra mile, touching up some paint without us asking, and adding new silicone sealant in the bath, and being very mindful that the grout in the tile work matched what was already there. ALERT HOUSTON !!! I hired GRADY B to cut a piece of bead board to glue behind on the wall of the…read morehalf bathroom under the stairs. Not a hard task. Well, what a disaster this person is. First, he is very old and he and his brother stink so badly it's offensive to come into someone's home with that stench. They miscalculated and cut the bead board wrong and had to go to purchase another piece. Instead of installing one full piece of board, which was the goal, they split the board down the middle. It looks like bullshite and very amateur. Grady B scratched up the side wall and knocked a little chunk out of the sheet rock. To continue to make matters worse, Grady B broke a large candle stick with his bulky ladder that was actually moved out of the way for safety. He didn't tell me he broke it, not did he confess about the scratched up wall. After 3 hours of blunderbussing around I asked him to leave. He broke my property, ruined the wall I have no touch up paint for, and installed the bead board incorrectly. I won't even mention that Grady B completely misunderstood a request to hardwire lights on the dining room wall. I dont like to be ugly, but this person is also one of those obnoxious " know-it-alls" that doesn't know squat and is not worth the risk and aggravation to have in your home to fix, repair, or install anything. I was looking in dismay at my backyard everyday and thinking about how I needed to pull all the…read moreweeds out. My neighbor had used TJ's services at 4LeafClover a while back to pave their backyard, so I called. He came out next morning and gave me an estimate and a few options for materials he had on hand already and could provide for a discount. He happened to have availability, and he and a helper came out that afternoon and started the demo of the existing concrete slabs and weeding. The next day, they came and continued digging out and started filling and leveling the ground. The paving looks excellent, and TJ made sure the design was functional for irrigation (important especially with all the flooding). For ease of moving stuff to/from truck, they tapped out a few planks of the fence. A few pieces were slightly damaged, and they replaced it before they wrapped up on Day 3 - no questions asked. I love the little pattern he did in alternating the direction of the paving - I never even thought of all these little details. He came back day 3 and finished it off in the morning. I'm in love with my new backyard! TJ also always had the brightest smile. In 95+ weather after 6+ hours of hard labor, that positive attitude really stood out to me. 5 stars all the way!
