QBC is my 308th brewery! Not exactly local for us but it was a great little day trip…read more It was pretty cold so no outside seating today but no worries as QBC has a nice indoor bar area. I told the beer tender to set me up with a flight of five, while SWPFTD ordered a pint of the Angel Peak Amber. Purple Flat Top hazy IPA is a really good IPA with great hop flavor but very manageable bitterness. Peewee Falls hoppy Pilsner didn't work for me. It had a little bit of an aroma and flavor that didn't appeal. YMMV. Timber Mountain tripel was good for me. I was tempted to go with a pint of this but decided on another. Iron Mountain stout had a nice roasty chocolatey flavor to it. Very drinkable! Bangs Mountain dark Kolsch was a good beer as well. I also tried the amber which SWPFTD ordered. This was a decent little amber. SWPFTD approved. Our daughter-in-law had ordered the wassail and it was pretty cool to see they had one on. I decided to go ahead and revisit the hazy IPA. They don't have food at QBC but they had a food truck when we arrived. Lola's Good Eats was REALLY good! QBC is a great spot. Great beer and all! If anyone is a glutton for punishment, please, follow my brewery, and distillery, reviews from across the U.S. and beyond! https://www.yelp.com/collection/-8iscFkpiiCI563-FDfwGg and if anyone is wondering who SWPFTD is you will have to check out my review of Black Market Brewing Co in Temecula, CA to understand. Yes, you will need to read into it a little to get the joke but I have confidence in you! I hope my confidence is not misplaced.

Trish gave us a really cool tour of the facility. They handcraft their liquors in small batches,…read moreand they use mostly local grains for their distillation process. All the fermenting, distilling, and bottling is done on site by the owners. Coming from San Diego, it was very interesting to see how the distillation process is done on a smaller scale. After the tour, she gave us a taste test of all their current selections. The testers included their vodka, gin, bourbon, whiskey, and so on. All the selections were so smooth. She explained that some of the store-bought liquors burn your throat because they may not be distilled properly. The ones we tried were definitely smooth-- I didn't gag or anything. Eventually we left with some 375 ml bottles of mint Loon Lightning and aged corn whiskey. Thanks again for all your hospitality!

However, the Lemoncello blew my mind! It's not too sweet but velvety on the tongue. My husband loved all the bourbon and whiskeys. We will be back - again and again. Stopped in passing through, this is a very cool / fun bar. Lots of outdoor space for summer…read moreactivities (horseshoes etc.) and a decent sized stage space for live music. We were the first customers in the door, bartender was really cool and hung out and chatted with us. Sweet old solid wood bar built in the way back, very cool space. They do karaoke pretty regularly, and live acts from time to time. They seem to have a FB page that is updated to show what events are upcoming. No tap beers, but decent selection in bottles / cans. Didn't try any food, but if you are looking for a straight up bar to hit as you pass through this is a spot. If I'm being honest the food didn't sound like anything I would likely try, but solid bar for sure.

We also ordered the fried gizzards and I must say, they were delightful! Our server was efficient, pleasant and the food came out in a timely manner. It seems that things have improved since our last visit. Better quality of food and it looks as if they did some major cleanup in the dining area. Prices are fair. We'll be back!
