And, unlike…read moreother nerdy type stores, this one is well lit, with plenty of huge windows up front, and clean floors and empty tables with chairs for people to hump in and play together. They have a game library where you can do an all-you-can-play for $5 a head, and there's plenty of space to play it! They also have community days where you can borrow the games for free! If you're here shopping for the game nerd in your life, and you can't quite afford a full on game, they have little enamel pins and stickers and such that will be a nice little small gift for your gaming friend, while not breaking the budget. I liked that the stickers were made by a local artist, whose name was on the board where they were displayed. At $4 each for a vinyl sticker, I'd say it was a pretty decent buy for something that supports a local artist. And yes, you could buy similar themed stickers at online retailers, but those are generally a bunch of stolen art work slapped onto sticker paper and sold, or a bunch of AI garbage. These stickers looked like they'd been made by the person who was putting their name on them. They also have a private D&D type game room that you can rent to play your more involved pen and paper RPG's in. It's got a table, some chairs, and a door that closes so that you can have your privacy. We went in on a Saturday, and the place was absolutely jumping. People playing card games (Magic The Gathering I think was prominent), board games, or just having snacks and hanging out. This place is a cool spot to check out if you want the company of other gaming types without having to go spend a fortune on drinking.

Nice game shop with different options depending on what you are looking for. I recommend going if…read moreyou are in the area.

They do charge a $7 fee to use them however. This was not communicated btw. Totally understandable for the charge, just it felt this was the theme of the visit. Poor managment/communication it would seem. When sat, there was no napkins. No silverware. No salt n pepper shakers. No ketchup. And it never came even after the food except the fork shoved in my salad. I had my son ask the bartender for a stack of napkins. It was odd.  This place is vegetarian. Totally fine but everything we tried to order, they were out of. No pizza (though the sign they had on the sidewalk said PIZZA). No black beans (which was on most of the dishes) or jalapeños. I asked for the faux chix sandwich...nope. Out of that too. Note the server did tell us the kitchen had a small spoonful left of black beans and divided it between my two sons...still was charged full price for the meal.  Finally, I was able order a Greek salad that came out with just lettuce leaves, a tablespoon of diced tomatoes, dusting of feta, and two peppers. I asked for the rest of the ingredients listed on the menu to which they were brought out. Not sure why they weren't on the salad to start. I had one small piece of lettuce on my beyond burger which was supposed to come with lettuce onion and tomatoes. The fries were wet.  All in all, dont come hungry to this place. Food was mid at best. Looks like a full bar and so many great games to play, but to say this is an eatery is a stretch. I feel badly for the server having to be the liaison between guests and a poor kitchen and management staff. Gentleman downstairs, Justin, was very sweet and informative on how the arcade worked. However because of the aforementioned, I don't think we'll be back.

I held a family membership at this store for about 18 months. My son and I went there to play D&D…read moretwice a week. We cancelled our membership tonight. We had been planning to cancel for a few months since the games just were not fun and the adult men were acting inappropriately in front of minors. I cannot state strongly enough that this is not a place to take your kids. Pros: The games were reliable. DMs were on time and would arrange another DM to cover if they were unable to attend. This was the main reason we hung in there as long as we did. Cons: Too much AI used by the DMs. Too many players at the table. The DMs get $5 store credit for each player so they pack in as many as they can and state the reason is for the $5 for each player. Sitting at a table with 11 players is ridiculous and nothing gets done. DMs do not move the game along. One round of combat, on the average was taking 45-60 minutes. On numerous occasions, a 4 hour session would consist of 4 rounds of combat which took up the entire session. My son was one of two teenagers that played. He was 13, turned 14 and the other boy was 14 turned 15. With these two young boys in the room, the grown men would make masturbation and sexual references in front of the boys, and joke directly with the older (15 year old) boy about masturbation and sex. They never joked directly with my son since I stated it was inappropriate. On top of that they would constantly use obscene language in front of children, dropping F-bombs three in a sentence. I made it clear that it is inappropriate to curse and make sexual references in front of minors, but they did not stop. At times, there would also be drinking by a player, and a DM. It did not get too out of hand, though. There is an inner circle of 6 players that have been there for a while playing together. If you are not in the inner circle, you will most likely be treated as an outsider, unless you are a young attractive female, then you get the royal treatment. An example of disparate treatment was on one occasion when the party was split and the inner circle characters were in one room and new characters were on the way, the leader of the inner circle stated "It's ok, let's move forward, all the characters that matter are here." I saw the expression of another player who looked disgusted, and she later told me how offended she felt. She never came back. This is just one of many examples. We played for about 18 months, and there were a few good sessions. Most of the time we were both thinking about how long it was before the session was over so we could go home. In retrospect, we stayed too long. In full disclosure, tonight the owner, Josh, called me aside. In 18 months we had never spoken more than "hello". He shared that a few players (inner circle) complained that my son expressed frustration at times during the game, and he was told it discouraged roleplaying for others. I shared that my son does enjoy combat more than roleplay and both are important in the game. He has never stopped anyone from roleplaying. He has never told anyone not to talk to an NPC. He chooses not to. Their style is not more important than his. I shared that I have many issues with what goes on in the gaming room and when prompted I shared some of the above. Josh was obviously not aware of the behavior that is going on. I did not mention to Josh, but should have, that players who we met there, who are not inner circle, have approached my son and I to play in home games and they will not be inviting others from the store. My son and I play in two other games (one of them I DM) at a different store, where we have no problems at all and players act appropriately in front of minors. In conclusion, take my opinion for what you will, knowing that you may consider it tainted by being approached. But Josh and I had a private and calm conversation where we both shared our concerns. Once again, I do not recommend taking children to this store. It is NOT a family friendly environment.

I had played at their Friday night magic booster drafts on numerous times in the past year and this is where I have several complaints about their player base that ruins the positive experience for others. While I was playing there, I had been yelled at by a guy named Peter Mitchell who is very rude and obnoxious on numerous occasions. One time I put a bottled water on the table with the cap sealed and he acts like its going to spill and rudely told me the rules are to not leave drinks on the table. Another instance where he was being ignorant is when I brought snacks in the store to share with everybody and he acts as if I'm taking business away from the store owner. What I am noticing at this store is the poor etiquette of some of the players who behave rudely and has no common sense in socially acceptable behavior in public. I'm taking about a guy named Andre Desir who was caught cheating in a game of Magic the Gathering by drawing extra cards and he tries to defend his actions by shouting at others insisting it's not a big deal. Any form of cheating is wrong and can carry a temporary ban of 1 year at DCI sanctioned events at the judge's discretion but the penalties of cheating is not enforced at this particular store. Those are the main reasons why I view this LGS unfavorably and I would not continue supporting this store. I would highly recommend Gamer's Heaven in Phoenixville instead to play cards. The staff and player base at GH are more ethical in their actions and behaviors and it has always been a good experience there.
