This was my first time at this salon, and it was by far the worst experience I've ever had. I showed a reference photo and asked if this haircut was possible. She said yes. I clearly told her that I hate bowl cuts and that I did NOT want straight bangs or bangs cut above the eyebrows. She said, "Don't worry, I'll make it natural." However, she cut my son's bangs extremely short. When I asked her to stop cutting, she said "No" and kept cutting. She also held his head down forcefully and used the clippers roughly, and my son kept saying "Ouch" many times. When I told her the haircut looked very different from the photo, she seemed angry. At the end, seemingly out of spite, she pretended to brush off the hair and repeatedly hit my son's face with a towel. I said, "Please don't hit him," but she replied, "I'm just brushing off the hair," and said, "The person in the photo is not your son. If it's not the same person, I can't make the same haircut. You are crazy to ask for that." I said, "But you are a hair stylist, right?" and she repeated, "You are crazy." Of course, I paid for the service, but I did not tip because of her unprofessional behavior and rude attitude toward a customer. She then said, "You are a cheap person. Never come back," and called me a "cheap person" multiple times. When I asked her name, she said "Jenny," but there was a brief pause before she answered, which made me feel that it might not be her real name. When my mother-in-law called the salon, they said there is no "Jenny," but there is a "Jennifer." Her treatment of a child, her technical skills, and her customer service were all extremely disappointing. She was wearing earbuds and seemed unaware of what was happening around her. I will never go back and do not recommend this salon. I really wanted to include a photo comparing the reference image and my son's haircut, but I decided not to because my son was upset with how his hair turned out, and I wanted to respect his feelings. read more

I bring my little girl here for cuts, the place is a little old, but has plenty of toys and children, decorations, as well as features that make the child comfortable during the cut. I appreciate how they play a fun show or movie for the kid to relax while getting the cut. Our most recent stylist, Isabel, did a great job with my daughter's hair. Before taking him to this place, I called ahead to let the personnel know my child has autism and needed to have special approach and if they had experience with autism kids and they told me yes. This was absolutely worst haircut experience. I have taken my son here twice before and it was great. The woman originally who cut his hair was fantastic, quick, showed him the tools. He sat still, listened, and didn't complain. Today the woman we normally had cut his hair was not there and another woman cut his hair. She took forever, did not communicate to him, and didn't at all do what we asked. The haircut was terrible, he was getting itchy with the hair on his neck, and she completely misaligned his side line up, and around his ears was awful. This place smells like mildew, none of the tools were cleaned. The toys in the front are all gross. She used a rope to tie my 3 year old son to the chair, with two booster blocks underneath him. I should have pulled him off and left then. At one point, she was literally holding the guard onto the buzzer, because it was broken. I told her we were done as fast as I could. There is hair EVERYWHERE. It hasn't been cleaned in a very long time. And she kept hurting my son by pushing the guard into his skin. He would say 'ow' and she just kept going. Never again. We've been coming here for years to see Mai no matter how long the wait, but today because of Isabel and her rude attitude and lying about times, we will not be back. When I called at 3:10 she told me Mai would be in at 4, then hung up on me. I had my man and son there before 4 so they could be seen ASAP as my son has a football game later. It's after 4:30 and no sign of her, so I call again and now Isabel is trying to convince herself she said between 4-5, if I heard as late as 5 I would've cut my kids hair myself before the game. My son picked out a toy at the end, and the stylist added the toy fee under the "tip" area on the receipt so she can make extra tip. Then the 2nd time we went today they cut my son and he started BLEEDING!!! and the stylist brushed my daughter's hair DRY. And my daughter started crying because it hurt so much... and the stylist KEPT brushing!! Like who continues to brush when a 4 year old is crying from pain??!! She was pushing too fast with the clippers and it was pulling at his hair which hurt him. She cut his hair much shorter than we asked and nothing was sanitized. She also answered her personal cell phone in the middle of cutting his hair. The whole place felt dirty and cheap. The clippers the lady was using was were used either an extension cord plugged into an overloaded outlet on the other side of the shop. A huge tripping hazard. read more

Love this place! My son had been getting home cuts from my husband and it was just time to see a professional there's only so much dad could do with clippers. Waiting area has a great play area to keep the kids busy while waiting. They have 2 Stations for video games for the older kids. We were a walk-in and only waited about 20 mins, the turnaround time was great. They had 3 stylists working and there was about 4 kids ahead of us. Mai was great with my 2 year old, she was so very patient, sweet and most importantly... quick, which is key with a toddler LOL She did an amazing job. First time in the barber chair for my son and he did pretty well! Overall very happy! I will definitely be retuning to see Mai. read more

I used to be able to recommend this place for years, until my last few visits. On two separate occasions by two different hairstylists, their roughness has left the side of my head with cuts when requesting for a line to be done on the side. The first time around the guy did it with a trimmer and left huge cuts on the back of my head, and the second time by a different barber was by clippers. I did not notice it nor feel it until the next day when the cuts started to show up. While it was not painful for me, there are others who have left similar reviews who had similar problems when going here. We took my one year old in for a haircut - he was fearful of the buzzer sound and the girl we got asked that we "hold his head and arms down" because he was moving too much, as a scared one year old would. They're in such a rush and didn't give him a moment to calm down or even attempt to calm him down and make him comfortable. It's as if they have never cut a child's hair. The haircut was shorter than we asked and in reality wasn't what we asked for. They are so set on cleaning up the edges when in reality we just needed a simple trim down - the edges and haircut are uneven, prolonged a terrible and quite traumatizing experience as well. She's my personal favorite, she has the patience of a saint ! She has cut my sons hair for quite some time now and she's amazing ! If you have older kids too bring 'em in ! All the hair stylist here are so talented and I've literally seen most of their work when I'm there. Also for older adults! They come in and get hair cuts too ! They are very affordable which I love , and they even include a hair wash with your children's cut. But if you really want a children friendly place that kids would love , come here. My almost 1 year got his second haircut here today. His haircuts have been pretty good; nothing extremely uneven or noticeably bad. I definitely never expect a perfectly done fade or line up as this is simply just a kids salon and not a top notch barbershop. I read through some of the reviews about cuts and horror stories, which I have never experienced here. My son has had his hair cut by an Asian women (not sure what her name is) and she has been patient and kind. Prices are low. The salon itself is pretty outdated but I'm sure kids don't care about that. There's a small play area and toys for sale. Brought my daughter in for her first haircut today and I was nervous because of some of the previous reviews but ended up pleasantly surprised. I think the lady who cut her hair was Mai based on pictures with previous reviews . My daughter really hates having her hair brushed so I was expecting a tantrum , but with the movie tangled (perfect to watch during a hair cut !) and a really spot on choice of distraction toy , as well as the fact that Mai was very gentle and didn't pull her hair - we got through the entire haircut with out a single tear or tantrum. Mai spent a lot of time getting her bangs just right and even did a cute French braid like hairstyle to pull her hair back on the sides . The first time she cut my child's hair she did a not so great job and I decided to give her a second chance in case it was an off day but the second time was horrendous. DO NOT GO TO ISABELLA. He also gave my older child a haircut and made sure he understood what I wanted. When we went in there for my youngest sons hair cut, my son was not having it and didn't want to stay in the chair. My wife held him and my son was just not having it. Well I hated and was frustrated with this experience. Now the hair styler I had was not rude or offensive. In fact I saw 2 boys get their haircuts and they looked amazing. I on the other hand was frustrated with the attention to detail with my daughters hair cut. The style had no effort and wasn't even done correctly. We came to this place hopeful that they could help us out with my daughter's hair but we wound up going directly after their business to another. I hope that they read this and understand that they could have done a better job with us.
