This was by far the worst customer experience I've ever had. I came in simply wanting white rocks for my yard and worked with MARIANA, who was distracted, unprofessional, and completely careless. I clearly told her I wanted the medium size after she herself recommended it over the large one and agreed to her reccomendation for both styles. I even showed her a photo for reference, and she agreed medium would look better. Despite that, she forgot to update the original invoice and kept the bigger size on the invoice she made me sign. I paid over $1,100 total--plus an unnecessary $50 delivery fee even tho I live 30 seconds away. When the rocks were delivered, they were completely wrong. I called repeatedly, but no one answered until the driver intervened. Mariana then tried to cover her mistake by lying, saying I changed the order--when I didn't even know the sizing names (1.5" vs ¾") I keot referring to them as med and lg. She then asked me very disrespectfully: "Why didnt you say something before they dumped it". I mean if she had common sense she would know that a normal sized human would not be able to see the rocks in the delivery trucks because of the height of the truck walls. Even after admitting the confusion, she refused to make it right unless I paid another $50 to redeliver the right one. To make things worse, I called back to fix the order so it can get simplified for them and I was told "too late, it's already dumped we wont pick it up." They kept saying Manny the manager will call me but No manager ever called me despite multiple promises. Now I'm stuck with the wrong product, a ruined yard before my event, and a $1,113.89 charge for something I didn't order. This fraudulence will be reported to my credit card and I will ensure to the get the correct item from a other place. This business is unprofessional, dishonest, and careless. I purchased their 420 gardening mix which THEY THEMSELVES RECOMMEND for gardening purposes. When I started watering the soil, as the water contacted the soil it became apparent that is was mostly sand. I proceeded to do a quick soil test where you put your soil in a jar and shake it. The contents will fall on to the bottom and separate into layers. To my eye, it looked like it was 60-70% sand. I kept calling asking questions about the soil, BUT Theresa, the owner kept going in circles, repeating their no refund policy and stating they haven't had issues with the soil. Understandably so I got impatient and upset with Theresa and told her that the product is a scam. I will admit, I was upset and hung up on her as she DID NOT APOLOGIZE ONCE. She kept telling me "I'm sorry you feel this way but the soil is good, I don't know what to tell you." The whole time I was on the phone with her, which was multiple times, she never told me that she was the owner. I asked to speak to a manager. She gave a number to call. Well, it turns out she referred me to her soil supplies. This guy mixes the soil himself. According to him it is 50% sand. A quick google search will tell you that soil should not contain more than 25% sand. Their supplier, whom Theresa referred me to, told me the sand content is 50%!!!!!!!!!! I spent 4K thousand dollars on this garden, paid guys to fill the beds and not I have 5 cubic yards of unusable soil. I posted about this in my local Facebook page and other people are reporting the same issue. I'm being quoted thousands to dig it up and dispose of it. This soil should not be marketed as a gardening soil. I'm sure it's great for other things but not gardening. It is a scam and it will ruin your gardening dreams. I also purchased some pea gravel, that I love. But their gardening mix is flawed and needs fixing. Please don't make the same mistake as I did. This business has no integrity and goes as far as to slander their customers and make it out to be the customers fault. I hung up on Theresa because of many reasons one for them being that I'm severely ill from very difficult medication I'm taking and running to the bathroom with nausea and vomiting multiple times per day. The owner has since attacked me personally online on Facebook where I asked if people were having issues with the soil. She hasn't apologized or attempted to try to remedy any of it.

I originally had my pool deck installed back in 2009 and I wanted to match for my current project. Kevin helped coordinate a special-order request by working with the manufacturer's representative to especial order the exact product. After about two months, the pavers arrived and were delivered. However, I noticed right away that the quality was not the same as my original pavers. Since it was a large order, I was very stressed and immediately contacted Kevin to see what could be done. Kevin quickly arranged for a sales representative to come to my home and inspect the pavers. After reviewing them, the representative explained that the manufacturing materials had changed compared to the original product. As an end user, I would not have known this difference or how it might affect the final result. Unfortunately, the return request was initially denied. Kevin didn't stop there--he escalated the issue to higher management on my behalf. Within just a few days, the return was approved. He then helped me quickly reorder a different paver option so my contractors could continue the project without delay. Throughout the entire process, Kevin was extremely responsive, patient, and supportive. In addition, when I visited their showroom, I purchased some natural stone pieces on clearance for my patio steps. After the installation was partially done, I realized the color did not match my patio as expected, and Kevin kindly accepted the return without any hassle. Overall, Kevin was incredibly kind and helpful, and the rest of the Peninsula Building Materials team was also very professional and supportive. We got three yards of a mix of their standard planter mix soil and their organic (fifty / fifty) and chose their delivery option (you can also do a pick up using your own bags). We had a very good experience working with the guys in the office figuring out what we need. We had some hiccups as getting the dirt as their supplier delivery was delayed which delayed our delivery and we had a mix up on a call in add in order, but we are happy as they took care of the problems and very carefully delivered our dirt where we needed (avoiding hitting our house or our boys basketball hoop which was a tight fit :)). I would recommend this place and will likely use them again as we put gravel around our raised garden beds.
