These guys seem to be ok. I showed up there one day not knowing 1 thing about tools and I explained that I borrowed a jack hammer from a family member and it broke and I pleaded to help me fix it so I didn't have hear his mouth. They looked at it the jack hammer and right off the back they said it was FAKE couldn't help me. I pleaded again to help me so I would have to hear my brothers mouth, but they said there's no parts for this product cause it's a fake makita. Then they sent me out the door with no heart at all. After a lil investigation I did myself, yes the makita jack hammer was fake. I looked at what was broken and I went to ace harder and spent $5 and they helped me fix the tool back to working condition. Moral of the story this company does not care if you have a problem with a tool or will help you fix it if you don't buy the tool from them. I give them a ZERO FOR MANHOOD AND COMPASSION. This is a relatively large local business. We went to get some specialized tools and ask questions. The staff was knowledgeable and answered the questions. I ended up purchasing some blades for my Milwaukee multi-tool and a trowel. Armed with that I was able to successfully dismantle some old closet shelving without destroying the drywall. I was in and out of the store in about ten minutes. I ended up with quality tools without having to hassle the Amazon or Big Box store unknowns. Contrast that with how long it takes to even find someone that knows tools at the big Orange box store. So if you need some ideas, this is a great resource to know about. read more

Likely one of the poorest experiences I have had in many years from any company of any type. My initial call was to inquire about the newest 15ga Senco finish nailer. I was immediately told that Senco doesn't make a 15 ga nailer(which of course is totally false) and the conversation went downhill from there. How does anyone deal with an incompetent staff? I just got off the phone with Brian regarding an old drill I want to repair. After explaining my situation, he walked me through how they approach repairs, what it might cost, how long it might take. His honest appraisal helped me not waste my time and money shipping my old drill to their shop. Instead, he gave me some sources for sourcing the parts and repairing it on my own. I made a deal with this company on an advertised parts washer and even offered to pay $100 extra so that I could pick it up on the weekend since I would have to drive from the valley to get it. We agreed on sale price and had arranged a pick up time - including paying extra for the Sunday pickup time. They sold it to another buyer without given me the opportunity to counter-offer on the item that was already promised to be sold to me. The only positive note is that I did not end up buying from them - if they lack the integrity to honor their word, I suspect they do not have the integrity to sell items of the quality they advertise. read more

Best place in the East Bay to get tools, fasteners, and tool repairs done. The staff knows what they are doing and what is actually worth buying. They used to be in Walnut Creek but now that they joined with tool tech in Livermore it's an even better experience. Go see the new location it will be worth your time. I took a Dewalt finish nailer to them for repair and hesitated when they told me I had to sign an authorization for a certain amount of repair, in my case $100. I got a call back from them two days later saying the repair was complete and grimaced on the phone I asked how much and they told me $34.82 labor and parts. They could have easily inflated this but they were honest, efficient, and even shipped it back to me at a reasonable cost. They have all my business from now on. read more

Tool Tech is awesome. I found out about them because they're an authorized service center for Bosch. They fix plenty of different brands of tools. Their prices are very fair for repairs, and on new power tools they manage to compete with Lowe's and Home Depot. Wes is very knowledgeable and friendly. We brought two nail guns in both in working condition one paslode nailgun to be cleaned internally and serviced the other porter cable finish nail gun needed a cleaning as well as the driver replaced. we received a call from tool tech saying that our tools are beyond repair and the replacement parts cost more than 50% of the price of a new paslode and a new porter cable finish nail gun. So we think alright we will take a look and replace the part and clean it our selves. We go to tool tech to pick up both guns, they give us our boxes back and on the way out i notice one box is light. Its empty! We go back in to ask were the porter cable nail gun is, It is in a million pieces in a cardboard box come to find out our paslode is also completely disassembled. We were very un happy the two nail guns came in working condition and left in pieces. So we started to re-assemble them to find missing screws and a boken mount for the guns housing. I would not bring any tool here to be repaired they will most likely disassemble your tool, return it to you in pieces and hope you will buy a new one from their store. read more
