This place is fairly new. The food is excellent and service is exceptional! Being from the south gravy is a kiss 99% of the time but this gravy was so good. We love to support local small businesses as some ourselves! So grateful they were open on Christmas Eve for a cozy brunch with my husband.

Great food, great service, & great atmosphere! Would highly recommend for a nice evening! By the way the desserts are amazing!

Great food, great service, very quaint atmosphere, and OMG those desserts!! Would highly recommend for an evening out.

Are all the reviews wrong? The latest one is from 8 months ago. A lot can change in 8 months. I had one of the worst waffles in my life. Cardboard, probably freezer burnt. Look at my pics and see the crumbs coming off the waffles. CRUMBS FROM A WAFFLE ? My waffles looked EXACTLY like others posted here, like a cookie cutter. Same shape, just toasted darker. Can you say Gordon Food Service pre frozen? Letgo my eggo. Asked for a couple eggs on the side only to be told "we don't do eggs". Huh? Hello? Breakfast place much? Added a side of bacon. How can you ruin bacon? Well they did somehow. Nice thick pieces that had been obviously pre-cooked and NUKED to within an inch of being burnt. Shoe leather, not a drop of grease to be seen. I wouldn't even feed this to my "pup" as another reviewer suggested. The coffee was decent tho. Place was empty at 8AM -- shoulda heeded that red flag. The irony is the largest sign behind the counter states in bold letters "FRESH". huh, coulda fooled me. TBF I will brave a return trip for a sammy. How can you ruin a sammy? We will see...

What a wonderful surprise this restaurant in a former house turned out to be. Located across the side street from Aldi's, this clean and bright restaurant features an outdoor patio as well. Our small party of 4 were seated immediately. We didn't know what to expect but the menu had delicious breakfast options for everyone including this vegetarian. If you are vegan, you will love that you can substitute meat and egg options. There is not a kids menu yet. And portions here are generous so expect to take some home unless you have a hearty appetite. The avocado toast has some heat to it and is amazing. Additionally, the French toast in a delicious combination of flavors. In all, a great place for breakfast. I can't wait to try it for lunch.

Another in our group had baked cinnamon French toast, the third had a very hefty biscuits, gravy, eggs and sausage piled combo.

I tried the Calamari Po'Boy and Buffalo Chicken Wraps, also with side salads. The Po'Boy was good, but small-ish size and the squid was more breading than meat. The Chicken Wraps was what you'd expect; fair size and same flavor as most places. Really enjoyed the side salads which were better greens than your usual local joint, and some nice pickled onions on top with good dressings. Also tried the Steak Fondue which was disappointing. Mostly some chewy leftover steak bits in a melted cheese. The rest of the menu sounded good, but very meat and cheese focused. Not many good veg or Gf options, other than plain salads. The high prices might be justified if they got their meats and ingredients from local farms and/or grass-fed cattle, but there's little on the menu to indicate it's any different than the same Sysco Cowschwitz stuff that everyone else uses. Service was decent, and the patio is nice.

It was lovely to be able to be outside and feel the breeze while also being out of the sun. Jack T. took care of us. He was super attentive and very sweet. We ordered the Crab Rangoon dip, Buffalo Sprouts, Salmon Salad, Mushroom & Steak Rigatoni, and had several different cocktails. Everything was super tasty but my favorite was the Buffalo Sprouts. We will definitely return. After dinner we had a ton of leftovers, put them in my car and headed up to the rooftop bar for one more cocktail and the best views of Pine Lake by far! We ended up being there for three hours. A good time was had by all!

I first went to Aurelio's original restaurant in Homewood, IL probably 40 or more years ago…read more Chicago is a tough pizza town whether you're eating pizza in a pan, traditional thin or tavern crust. While Aurelio's pizza might not technically be considered "tavern crust", it is absolutely one of the best examples of a thin pizza I've had. Over the years, Aurelio's have expanded to many locations in several states and today we found ourselves in La Porte, IN to once again sample pizza excellence. Our large mushroom half sausage came in about 15 minutes after ordering and looked perfect. I was so excited to begin eating I forgot to take a picture so you'll have to trust me that it looked as good as it tasted. We always order a large even though we can only eat about half in one sitting. This pizza reheats so well that we enjoy the rest later or the next day. Hard to describe and even more difficult to grasp if you're not from the Chicago area but real Chicago pizzas have what I call a "purity of Ingredients" where everything goes together so well. Here, the sauce is subtle but dominant. Over the years I've probably been to maybe 10-12 Aurelio's locations and the consistency is unbelievable. Service was great and the pizza was better! The perfect ending to a quick weekend trip.
