Giuseppe, who is the manager-owner I believe was super friendly and talkative guy like me. I liked the atmosphere: just like an old-fashioned pizzeria with a few tables, cranking out to-go orders. As I've said in other reviews, I am attempting to try every single pizzeria I can find, and there are quite a few in Ocean county. I am judging all of their plain Neapolitan pizza. Tony's was fairly priced; I actually had two slices. They had a higher than average cheese to sauce ratio. The crust was very good. He also gave me a couple of slices of some kind of upside down Sicilian pizza that I put in the toaster oven the next day. They had this Italian oregano on them, not overwhelming, and they were surprisingly much better than I thought they were gonna be. I didn't think I would like them, but I loved them. I will definitely return when I'm in the area and try other things on the menu. read more

We have been loyal and well paying customers of Tonys for a long time now. We pick up and order from them often, this was the rudest and most appalling ordering experience i have ever had with a restaurant, in my life. We placed an order for 2 orders of chicken fingers which at $14 dollars each(which is crazy as is)i expect it to come without cracked off pieces of plastic covering the food.We aren't people who call and complain..we have never given issue of any sort. Instead of just kindly accepting responsibility for food that came damaged upon delivery..the owner thought it would be more appropriate to call us liars, have an attitude, text us for proof of this slop, and offer to replace this plastic covered food as if it was charity. Find me one pizza place where the owner actually texts customers for pictures of the food for proof, and then the best part! sent out a driver tbag the food and give it back. I mean it's laughable. We put soggy cracked containers of chicken fingers and french fries in a shoprite bag to prove something to you. I'd be embarrassed. Will never order from here again! Also notice a pattern from other reviews that the owner is rude, horrible customer service, at what point do you accept that you're the problem maybe? That's not how you treat people. RESPONSE TO OWNER- You texted me asking me for pictures of the food, should I upload that here as well? Updated Jan 2020: While I appreciate a response from the owner (over 2 years later) he was present at the time we went in. He was actually the person who told us this.. We used to love Tony's but stopped ordering from there after an incident with a party we had catered. Since others have mentioned pricing discrepancies I felt the need to share. We ordered over 500 dollars worth of food and the price didn't seem right. When I returned the catering trays to the restaurant I inquired about the price difference. Apparently there was a new menu in the works with different pricing. I had hoped they would honor the pricing listed on the corresponding season/year but was instead told "it's only 5 dollars difference." Well, when you order 10 trays that adds up to an additional 50 dollars. This conversation was happening while my friend and I were being rung up for our lunch which only consisted of a few slices. No attempt to rectify the situation, meet halfway or even buy us a few slices. Poor customer service. There are far too many pizza places around with better customer service. read more

Good pizza. Ordered a half plain half chicken parm pie and a Hawaiian pie last night, as well as a large order of fries and Pepsi. Everything was good , but the only thing I thought was odd was that the delivery driver dropped my food on the porch but didn't contact me. Of course I understand the Covid-19 precautions, but if I hadn't looked outside I wouldn't have even noticed the food was delivered. My family and i have been a customers since 1994. The pizza is awesome, always hot and ready when picking up! Constantly busy these folks still provide helpful and professional service. Beverages are always cold. Well known in the community this is one of the local businesses that makes good food with hard work and great ingredents. When we called in a delivery to Beachwood, the person took the address and order. They did NOT say they don't deliver to my town. Thirty minutes later, they called back. At that time, they said they don't deliver to my town. I sincerely apologized for the mistake. Then I was told I had to pick it up. Either way they were going to charge my credit card. After the employee got extremely rude, I asked for the manager to call me back. The manager said I had to pay for the order, which I refused. He then said I was stupid for calling the wrong pizzeria. We ordered 3 pies: regular, Sicilian and a half mushroom half sausage. The regular slice was ok. The crust was cooked well but was unremarkable in terms of flavor and nuance. This place has high prices so I had HIGH expectations. The food was just okay. I got a small cheesesteak which in my opinion was the price of a large. It was dry, practically no cheese. I got the fried mushroom appetizer which was good but not great and came with dipping sauce. Here's the kicker.... I like to get a handful of items even though I'm feeding just me for two reasons, one, I love leftovers and two, I like to really get a good idea of how the food is at a place when I first eat there. They offer a $14 appetizer sampler that comes with chicken fingers, wings, mozzarella sticks and fries - "that's perfect" I thought! On DD I was given the option to add several sauces at about $1.50 EACH so I ASSUMED this was going to be extra sauces since I'm not planning to spend another $5 for a dish I'm sure comes with side sauces.... Not a single sauce was included! No marinara for the mozzarella sticks, not hot sauce or blue cheese for the wings, no honey mustard or bbq for the chicken fingers. Are you kidding?! What am I supposed to do with a dry platter of fried foods?? Extremely disappointed, will definitely be trying to find a less expensive and more flavorful option in the future. I accidentally called this location and ordered 2 pizzas. The delivery driver hung up on me when I told him it wasn't my house. Very polite young female responded when I called with "I'm sorry the person that answered the call Should have asked what town you were in; unfortunately he also delivered the order" an hour later the owner called me and said "sorry you cost me money call your bank" then proceeded with a harassing text message in which he took my phone number from his business and texted me from his personal phone. Attached are the text screenshots. Even my bank responded to my dispute with "its a shame a merchant would treat you that way when they can easily refund the costs" This Guys a loser. Or, perhaps her perfect and has never accidentally called the wrong number. Tony's is a great pizza shack nestled on route 88, in an area that has about 10 pizzerias per square mile. In my ~11 years or so in this town, I've driven past Tony's a ton of times, but never ventured inside. On a week where I was feeling fairly adventurous and eager to try new places, I popped in here for a calzone for dinner, having pretty much given up on any sense of eating healthy that day. When I entered, the first thing I noticed was that they had a pretty damn good selection of pizza by the slice to choose from, ranging from the fairly typical plain / pepperoni / sausage / sicilian, to more oddball stuff like baked ziti pizza and "chicken bacon ranch". When my calzone came out, I did what I always do when ordering a calzone - I asked for extra sauce, since most places never give me enough. The guy behind the counter a Tony's gave me a kind of worried / confused glare when I asked this, and he showed me why. They don't just give you a cup of sauce, they give you a freaking cauldron. There's enough sauce in that metal tin to bathe a small child in, and still have some left over for your meal. When I got home and opened the box, I found out the calzone was gigantic, just like the sauce. On top of that, it was fairly well filled with a pretty good amount of cheese and ham, and nearly impossible for me to finish in one sitting. The pizza is pretty great as well, and the slices I've had were a pretty great size (I think they cut the pizza into 6ths). I'm definitely coming back here for more - great food at a pretty fair price, with generous portions. Everything a Jersey pizzeria should be. read more

Came in on Thursday October 31st, 2013 for the $5.99 lunch special --- after driving down Route 88 and was not disappointed. We ordered the Penne Vodka Special with Bread along with the Chicken Parm Pasta Special for $5.99 each ( $12.73 for two people with tax)-- and it hit the spot. The portions were generous and the food was tasty. I would have eaten it in the place --- however, all three of the booths inside were taken along with the picnic table out front. I have never dealt with such unprofessional and rude people. I had accidentally called the wrong Tony's Pizza placing an order for DELIVERY where I provided my address. Nothing was mentioned that they were in Brick or that they do not deliver to my address in Beachwood. A half hour later I get a call saying they are in Brick and I must've called the wrong location, I sincerely apologized and then the phone was handed off to some guy who proceeded to tell me I MUST come pick up my order, they will not refund me, and continued to be rude and nasty while calling me stupid. I then get a call back from the Manager who at first seemed to be polite, then switched to just as nasty as his employee after I kindly asked for a refund. I recognize that I called the wrong location but this was an order for delivery where I gave my address to the restaurant, it should have been acknowledged from the beginning that they would not be able to deliver. I'm pretty sure this is my second review on yelp, ever. I really don't understand how this place is rated 4 stars. First, the large pizza was the size of a medium. They cut a large pie in 6's instead of 8's (I've never heard of large pies being cut in 6's, only mediums) to make up for the skimpy size. Aside from that, the pizza was absolutely inedible. The garlic knots were so old that we couldn't bite though the dough. I'm saving the best for last, the chicken fingers and fries. The chicken fingers were burnt and clearly the scraps from the bottom of the frozen bag. They were little burnt nuggets with no chicken in them. I wouldn't even let our kids eat it. We called back and I will say that whoever answered was trying to make it right, but we were so disgusted we decided to pass. I hope they make some changes. read more

My fiancé and I just received a menu in the mail and decided to order something. My chicken sandwich, although simple because it's grilled and there is nothing much to it, was fantastic.
